Holy Christ, reading some if these reviews makes me question some of my neighbors friendship and I'm surprised I haven't had to vomit from the stench of ineptitude wafting off of them and from seeing the human embodiment of entitlement in them. Anyway, everyone was very helpful, nice and professional. Carrie was warm and was able to answer the questions I had even though the store was busy. Even if she rushed the answers I'd understand because, well, they're busy and I'm not the only one on this earth trying to get things done. Owner is a rude man. This business was 20 min away so I called first to confirm that they could provide the service needed. The owner answered and confirmed he could package a gift box with me. When I arrived he started rushing putting my items in a box and I told him that I needed to put the cards on the top (he was packaging it upside down) and he very rudely said "do you want to do it yourself?" I said "no I came here to have it packaged as a gift box and you said you could do it." He said "This box is going to tumble around when it's shipped so it doesn't matter where the cards are, I have lots of customers and no time for that...you can buy the box and do it yourself." While the staff here is very helpful, it's important that you know about their new policies. USPS mailings have a surcharge, and pre-paid drop-offs have a $1.00 service fee. I mailed a package two days ago there without knowing the new policies, and for a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box I was charged $9.60. The rate at the Post Office is $7.90. That's a 22% increase over the Post Office price. And to top it off, the depot gives a 1-8 day delivery window even though it's USPS mail and the PO gives 1-3 days. When I asked why the discrepancy, the Depot salesman said "we can't be responsible for Post Office delays". So my advice is go to the Post Office and save money and get a better guarantee. read more

This is one of the few places in the area to still accept FedEx and DHL without going directly to an official FedEx or DHL location. It is a convenient one stop location and the staff is helpful, but not overly friendly. If you just want a fast drop off with little conversation check out this spot. read more

Owners/proprietors Hemphills' offer fabulous assistance for customers. Last week had to get several natal day and Mother's Day cards to various obscure addresses. Also had to mail our grandson a very special teenage gift for his birthday...brought it in [a 2-sided glass frame]..it required special safety packaging. I've provided you the details in my review, to sum it up, you need to explain to your staff that the Customer is your bread and butter. As I stated, I gave your business several tries since I do understand people have 'off' days. That was not the case here so I decided to take my business elsewhere where Customer Service is the top priority. I suggest you take the refund you are offering and put it towards some Customer Services classes for your staff. This place is garbage. I'd give it zero stars if I could. The women working there are extremely caddy and snippy EVERY SINGLE TIME I go in to do stuff for my business. They don't acknowledge that you are there, nor greet you, extremely unwelcoming. They are also VERY slow and don't value your time as a business owner that needs to get stuff done. The owner needs to invest in some customer service training for his miserable employees. I have used this facility for the last two years to ship various packages for my business and for UPS drop offs for returns from Amazon, zappos etc. today after taping boxes to ship ups, Bill the owner, approached me, stopped me. And asked me why I was using so much tape. He stated he made no money on UPS drop off packages and people excessively using tape cost him money. I left the store and despite its convenience to my home will never use this business again. Bill, the owner was rude and apparently does not understand the concept of "cost of doing business." In contrast, I had used the FedEx office on Tanque Verde the their customer service has been excellent. I would highly recommend them. I also have used UPS store at Wilmont i. again there services exceptional. I would highly recommend either one of those. Stay away from this place if you want to be treated well. read more

Dear Bill, I sincerely appreciate the double refund, and yes I did confirm with the BBB that I was satisfied with the outcome. I am, however, still dumbfounded by the fact that: we paid for a service to have a tax amendment delivered to the IRS; we paid to have it sent certified mail; the computer tracking records showed that the package was not delivered and was not going to be; and your initial response was to squabble over and refuse a $5.17 refund to my 83 year-old father and by implication accused us of lying. Even after I first politely told you that this would cause you to lose a loyal customer forever, you and Gina appeared to be perfectly okay with the loss of business. This was always a customer service issue. And I hope that you and your staff will learn from the incident. I have tried this place on different occasions because it is closest to me. I usually need simple copy service or an occasional FAX done. I have had a simple box mailing as well. Service is as slowwww as can be. These ladies move like crippled snails! Poor awareness of growing line out the door as these ladies bullshit with customers. The topper was when they allowed a women to set diapered baby on the service counter for a good 5 minutes while they visited. No clue about hygiene. People gasped and walked out. I went here frequently to drop off packages for my business as the location was convenient. The first few times I dropped off parcels the employees were somewhat helpful but still didn't give the greatest service. Over the past couple months now I absolutely dreaded coming in here as the customer service has gotten HORRIBLE. The employees don't acknowledge my presence. I would have to stand around awkwardly while the employees would obviously seem very disgruntled and unhappy. I'd walk up to the counter and practically have to shout I have a drop off to get their attention. ALSO, I've had a total of 5 parcels go completely missing from this location in 2 months. Due to the lost packages I had no choice but to cancel my customer's orders and refund their money. At the USPS this NEVER happened to me. I'm totally done going here and I advise anyone else in my shoes to STAY AWAY! read more

Several weeks ago I sent a package from Bear Canyon Mail Depot which I packaged myself. It arrived damaged beyond repair due to poor handling by USPS. I went back to BC Mail Depot to begin filing a claim, as the package was insured. Mr Bill Hemphill, the owner/manager went far, far above and beyond what I expected. He spent several hours working the issue and made several phone calls on my behalf. I did receive the compensation I was promised in a very timely manner. Extraordinary customer service!!! I would also like to mention that all the employees I have encountered there have been kind, gracious, and upbeat! They occasionally get a bit crowded but the service is always top-notch! Came here to drop off a package, a friend suggested it instead of the regular post office since it was by her house. I have never sent a package myself before-since I usually do everything online. When talking to a woman who worked here, she was extremely rude when explaining their policy where I would have to pay $1. She made me feel like I was an idiot because I didn't already know it. I was perfectly fine with the charge, but when I said I didn't have any cash and suggested my card be the way I pay, she got even more frustrated. Definitely one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had, because I left with tears. I've been a customer for over a year and I have to say that the employees and owner are the nicest people. They've gone way and above for all of my needs. I'm not sure why there are any negative reviews as I go into this establishment at least 3 times a week and always have had a most positive experience. BEWARE: Avoid this rip off outlet. They misrepresent themselves as a US mail substation (which at one time they were), even going so far as to affix USPS signs to the front window. What they don't tell you is that they are now independent contractors, NOT a USPS substation. As such, they add at least a 40% extra charge on top of USPS postage. I just shipped a package of books which would have been $26 at USPS rates, and, having not pre-calculated the cost via USPS website, naively paid $36 (another $10) for the shipment, only to later discover the gouge. They add similar surcharges to all UPS and FedEx mailings brought in unlabelled. Further, they only grudgingly accept Priority mail with pre-printed labels saying that they don't make any money off those. Even though this place is convenient to my home, I will never return there; I will go directly to the post office which is not that much farther, much more efficient, and just as friendly. With more time, I would submit a complaint to the Attorney General's office for the Bear Canyon Mail Depot's misrepresentation of themselves as a USPS substation without full disclosure of their actual business practices. But I will tender that gauntlet to the next irate ex-customer. Most likely this inefficient, greedy, and, if other reviews are to be believed, inept and inflexible, mom-and-pop enterprise will expeditiously implode on its own in due time. read more

This used to be a very convenient location to drop my business' mail off when we had larger envelopes that were too big for the drop box but lately it has just gotten ridiculous. They no longer allow me to just run in and leave my envelopes on the counter (everything is already postaged). Instead I know have to wait in the long line that forms because the girls that work there don't know how to just do their job and instead hold up line chatting it up with every single customer that comes in. Also, they apparently no longer allow you to use the USPS certified letter labels, you have to wait while thy input all the information into their system and print their own label. And, when I have to mail packages it is even worse. I will tell them what is in the box and they still insist on rambling through this long list of items such as hazardous material that I have already stated was not in the box. This location was already slow but now it is just unbearably so. Just too many time wasters happening at this location. read more

Over the course of my husbands deployment, I have pre paid my postage with USPS and just dropped off my care packages here. Staff is always friendly, and just take my package and send me on my way. I just want to say that they did a remarkable job packing all the items. They arrived at our home in Colorado in great shape. This Mail Depot changed ownership sometime in the past year. I surmised that from the dramatic decrease in civility, customer care, and attitude in its employees, and then I asked one recently if it had changed ownership and she said it had. I visited this business twice in the past week and was taken aback by the lack of simple civility both times. Big change from the pleasure it used to be to visit this business before the new ownership. Normally, I am just running in to drop off a return item that my wife purchased from Zappos or Nordstrom. The staff has always been friendly and are always willing to give me a receipt. These are items where the return shipping has been prepaid, not a high margin profit center for a business. I wish they had more office supplies or products where I could give them more business.
