Loved it! The vibe is like no other, super chill in an old church with stained glass windows. Both continuing to utilize, but with respect, this beautiful space. The biscuits and gravy are quite good, and the pricing is very reasonable. I was surprised the Mexican Coca-Cola was not cold, but they were kind to offer a cup of ice. The lemon meringue pie was fantastic, but it could always use more lemon. As were the chocolate twists, which were like twisted croissants. The prices are very reasonable! Be sure to tip, because even though you walk up the place you order, they do bring it to your table. With the good prices tipping makes perfect sense here. BLUF: Great food, a cool atmosphere, and friendly service! Food & Drinks (4/5): I ordered the Turkey Panini ($10.45) and it was really good. My very first bite tasted a little unusual, almost a bit soapy, but I was also having a gingerbread latte and a pickle at the same time. It was probably just a weird flavor combination. Just a quick heads up on the coffee pricing: a 16oz latte starts at $4.55 for two espresso shots, and then you pay extra for the milk and syrup pumps. The online menu says whole milk is an extra $0.25, but I was charged $0.50. It made me feel a little tricked, so definitely keep an eye on your receipt. Service (4/5): The staff is nice. The food still comes out at slightly different times, but the dishes arrived much closer together on this visit. It seemed like there were more people working, and it was a lovely surprise that they brought our drinks right to the table this time around. Absolutely wonderful experience! Stopped by with a neighbor today and we were blown away by the beauty of this cafe. It truly is so unique and has SO much to offer. I had a raspberry latte and cinnamon roll with homemade glaze. YUM! My friend had an iced pumpkin chai and breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Stopped in @ Beans in the Belfry for the first time for some much needed caffeine! As many others have articulated, the business is in an old church building - and much of the architectural elements have been retained - which gives the place a super awesome ambiance! The stained glass windows are gorgeous! I wanted a cold brew - but they don't offer that. I was offered an iced coffee in its place - which the young lady at the register tried to tell me was essentially the same thing - it's not - and those who know - know. But I wasn't going to argue with her. Instead I ordered a triple shot breve Cappuccino - which was well executed. They also offer some breakfast items, as well as sandwiches and other fare. What a gorgeous venue! I loved his the turned an old church into a coffee shop. The styling was eclectic and homey. The stained glass windows were amazing (some needing repair with peeling color). The windows each say "in memory of [insert name]" and there's a QR code available to learn about the person mentioned. The top alcove is usually available for customers but had been reserved today so we sat at a corner table. The music occasionally turned off but I actually really liked the silence, with the lofted ceilings it didn't get loud. We loved that the paninis came with pickles. What we got: Muffin - 3* nothing special here. Tasted like a regular store bought muffin. Chocolate and strawberry milkshake - 3* these aren't thick milkshakes but they are refreshing. What a beautiful and relaxing place. Came here the week after Christmas. Ordered cafe late and Tuscan panini. And the smoked turkey. Both were delicious. The inside is colorful and spacious with plenty of seating. I also bought some coffee grinds and they grind them for free for you. The cafe was delicious! I am lactose but I requested it the normal way with whole milk. It didn't bother me one bit. The cheese in both paninis were melted to perfection and the bread was toasted just right. I will return and really enjoyed the ambiance, food and music. By the way, when can you go to church and hear Madonna playing on the speakers. lol it made me laugh but that's just what makes this place unique and fun. Parking was a little rough. It is paid metered on street but it was busy when I went so had to go up and down street to find a spot. They offer live bands and alcohol too I imagine after lunch and on weekends. It was my first time trying this local coffee spot. I have been living in Brunswick for about 3 years now, and I've been wanting to try it for a while. I met one of my favorite professors here for breakfast and we loved the atmosphere. She had the quiche and it came with a salad. Although, she liked it she did mention that vinegar in the dressing was a little bit heavy or too much for her liking, and she felt the salad/lettuce could have been "crispier." She also had a tea. I had the Breakfast Croissant sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. I should have asked for grape jelly. It was good without it though. I also had a Cafe Au Lait. It was good. The service was ok. The staff were friendly. I think for me, I really just enjoyed the atmosphere. I love old structures, and I love how the owners converted this old church into a local gem in the heart of downtown. I'm a writer as well, and I would love to come back and chill on the couch and write on one of my writing days. Also, I loved the music playlist. It was "Railroad Days" so it was such a pleasure dropping in today and then strolling through the streets and checking out the crafts made by local artisans! I stopped in at Beans in the Belfry when I was in Brunswick for a couple of weeks ago. I was charmed. The coffeeshop and cafe (I only had coffee, but they definitely have lots of food, and most people there when I was - around lunchtime - were eating food as well as enjoying a beverage) is housed inside a former red-brick church built in 1910. Tall ceilings, stained glass, great architecture. It's a really charming place. I had a very good americano and just enjoyed the atmosphere while I did some work on my laptop. (It can get a little loud, so definitely bring some headphones if you're going to be doing some work.) And wow - so thoughtful - the cafe has a sign on the front door letting people know that parking on the street is metered and reminding you to pay for your parking. I hadn't noticed any meters or signs and was about to take a risk of getting towed or getting a ticket. But then I saw their sign and paid using the app (it's very affordable). It was a great place to do some work while I was in Brunswick. I'd love to return. read more

This place is sooooo cool. I love history and I believe this church is almost 115 years old. It has a warm and cozy vibe with its own coffee shop uniqueness. They have vintage decor and have kept intact a lot of the old church. The gallery overlooking the shop is a great view, definitely check it out if you go. Stained glass windows were so cool too. I had a macadamia nut latte that warmed my soul and I chowed down on a nova lox bagel. Next time I'll try a panini because they looked mouthwatering. A historical landmark. A from-church-to-coffee-shop kind of establishment, they have plenty of baked goods, food items, and memorabilia. I overheard someone in another coffee shop discussing that this place doesn't have much going for it except for the mosaic windows, but I respectfully disagree. They have good standard coffee that matches the quality of other coffee shops in the area and it has established itself in the community roots. We drove an hour just to have brunch at this place as my friends had been to this place in the past and had great things to say about their food and ambiance. We ordered a bunch of stuff. Old Berlin sandwich which is a sandwich made with a thin cut of beef and stuffed with sauerkraut. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had. It just melted in my mouth. Highly recommend it. Some of the other food included belfry chilli which was very delicious and a couple of vegetarian sandwiches. For drinks, highly recommend pumpkin spice chai latte. Ambiance is great. If I lived nearby, I would absolutely come here and work for a couple of hours and try their delicious food. Service is good too. A few things first: I went here and spent my money every day, and I do mean every day, for years. This was after the pandemic, when everything service-industry closed. They're still open. They're thriving now. So we will start there. There is nothing wrong with this place, the service is not slow, and the food is delicious. The bulk of the 1-star reviews --which were brought to my attention this morning-- are from jilted or uninformed people who ate there once. I ate there thousands of times. Brunswick, MD is one of those places I would have never of drove through if it were not for Beans in the Belfry. Beans in the Belfry stands out from most of the other coffee shops I have been to because of their stain glass. It was spectacular! The cafe is in "a century old historic restored church". There is plenty of seating in this cafe from round dinner tables, to cafe tables, wing back chairs and big comfy couches (yes I tested out the couches). There is an adorable children's corner too. I have only one rule when it comes to exploring coffee shops; if there are a flight of stairs you better climb them. The stairs in Beans in the Belfry were by far the most stunning stair climb I have completed. They led to a seating area in a loft with more stain glass and a view of the entire cafe. The explorer in me was so excited I had to examine every corner of the cafe. I am pretty sure I enjoyed the cortado. I know I drank one because I took a picture of it and I would never let a good cortado go to waste. Enjoying life one cortado at a time! read more

I love the ambiance here, the place itself is so cute and picture worthy because it was an old church made into a comfy vibe however; the food and drinks are below average in my opinion. Nothing special, way too simple and not enough to fill you up or even satisfy you to be honest. I've had breakfast sandwiches from here and lattes. New management has ruined such an iconic place. Rude, new menu isn't great. Also- today we came in and the sink in the bathroom said "out of order" and there wasn't toilet paper. I asked at the front where we could wash our hands and let them know there's no TP in the bathroom and they acted like it was a total inconvenience for me to even mention or ask these things. Food service was slow and again, not friendly. Makes me so so sad because this place used to be a gem. We used to love to come here, the staff was so friendly and it was very easy to customize our orders. Unfortunately, it changed a lot with the new management. We got a very mean staff member asking us to leave because we came close to the closing time. The meals are no longer made to order and the staff refuse to make an adjustment as easy as removing cheese from a sandwich. I cannot recall any experiences like this at any other place. I stood in line for 20 mins it didn't move so I ordered online for pickup. Then the order took 40 mins to complete. Said it would be ready by 12:50,pm but I didn't get my food until 1:20pm. I understand they had a lot of customers but I don't understand why it took so long to make 2 sandwiches and a biscuit and gravy. When I asked the owner or manager said it's because I did a custom order. I asked what was custom?? She said my sandwhich asked for rye while it usually come w white. How does that equate to taking almost an hour to complete my order? I ordered with the options on the website literally didn't make anything extra. Not to mention when i initially came inside (I was waiting outside) to pick up my order when I asked one of the staff if there's a spot to pick up mobile order she told me to go stand in line. How does that make sense?!! That line is huge btw. When I finally got my food I asked the cashier if utensils are included in the bag she proceed to act like that was the most stupidest question ever and then pointed to a section and said utensils are over there. I get being overwhelmed and busy but that doesn't excuse waiting an hour for sandwiches. I wanted to cancel my order but she insisted the food is on the grill now. This little cafe is inside of a repurposed church, and it's so cute. We came here after our River Trails kayak tour. My fiancé ordered the turkey sandwich, and he absolutely loved it. I believe he said "this sandwich is fuego!" He also had a strawberry smoothie, which was just okay. I had a blended chai drink, which I thought was great! I also ordered apple caramel walnut pie that was good but really heavy. The service was good! One negative is that the place was a mess. Lots of tables were not cleaned up, and there was food on the carpets. I would have given 3 stars because of how messy it was, but my partner insisted on 4 stars due to the delicious sandwich. Stopped by here for a delicious breakfast after camping at Brunswick family campground down the street. I had a delicious large iced coffee, a bacon & egg breakfast sandwich on a croissant and a cinnamon bun. The food/coffee were great and the service was quick! We had a large group of 10 people but they have plenty of seating and we easily found a place to sit together. Quaint coffee shop in the heart of Brunswick MD. We met friends there and had a late breakfast. Two hot chocolates, two coffees, two breakfast sandwiches, and quiche. Food and drinks are worth another trip there...I would say my only complaint is the coffee station needed tending to. One pot remained empty the entire time we were there.
