Went to the Ark Encounter and in the evening we both wanted some ice cream. I had a banana split and the wife had a cup with pralines and cream. My split was fantastic and she was very happy with her choice. Place was clean, well lit and they've got a great patio to sit out and enjoy the fresh air. This was our first visit to Beans! Driving on I-75 northbound, my wife saw the billboard sign. We took the exit, turned right and drove about a mile toward Dry Ridge, Ky. Beans had an excellent selection and I chose the Cuban Panini and she ordered the Smokin' Turkey Sandwich. We were NOT disappointed. The food was excellent and the staff were very courteous and responsive to our dining experience. We will make an effort to stop here anytime we are driving through this part of Kentucky! Food was wonderful! Fresh bread and pastries even late in the day. My 6yo is very picky about bread but she gobbled up the sourdough, crust and all. We ate here for dinner and came back for breakfast the next day. Service was not great either time I was there. Person taking my order seemed annoyed that I had such a large order. Great quality homemade soups, sandwiches and salads, Caribou coffee, amazing donuts, breads, and desserts made in house. The building has a beautiful setup and decor. So we traveled down to Kentucky to visit the Noah's ark replica. It is a very small place so we didn't know where to eat. Seeing this as we drove around we automatically knew we had to try it, due to one of our nicknames being "beans". It looks small but there is a lot of room inside. The people are so sweet and the food is ready super fast, the signature "beans" (doughnut holes) with every dish is a perfect touch. Make sure to grab a t-shirt if you stop down too, they run small from what I saw. Definitely stop by! read more

We had a dual family trip to catch the Ark Encounter here in Kentucky. Where I am from, Buffalo, our namesake says it all - Buffalo Wings. When I am in Dry Ridge, I am surely not seeking Dry Ridges, so what is it that I could find to compare against my hometown food choices? Donuts. They are universal as you all know. From gas stations to gourmet donut shops, it does seem to be the preferred companion to coffee lovers everywhere. Our two families were staying in a cabin in the area and as expected, I was already thinking about what I was going to eat in 12 hours from then. As I usually do, I used my Yelp app and discovered the top rated donut place in the area. Alas, Beans fit the bill. I logged in to their site and ordered the biggest donut hole box I could find, 6 muffins, 12 donuts and breakfast sandwiches. I gained 10 pounds just ordering the food. I wandered up to this little storefront located on one of the Main roads in the town. It was a lot larger on the inside that I expected when looking from the outside. It was clean, bright and everyone moved efficiently. What I think I liked the most was immaterial, though. I observed what I thought to be the owner or a manager walking around telling everyone what a great job they did. Obviously I have no idea what it was for but things like this have an impact both on the employees and those who witness this act. Moving back to the food....the arrangement was done perfectly and double checked for accuracy. I was in and out in 5 minutes. I headed back with my metric ton of food and all 8 people dug in. Every item was excellent. From the 3 flavors of donut holes we chose to the array of light and fluffy donuts and dense flavorful muffins. The Cinnamon muffins got the most votes and the Fruity Pebbles donuts were enjoyed by the youngest family members. I was so incredibly pleased with this place and when I speak to anyone headed to the Ark, I recommend, "Beans." read more

Just found this place and I'm so happy we did! Limited breakfast menu but all homemade! I ordered eggs and bacon which came with big chunks of potatoes and freshly baked sourdough toast. Dan has the biscuits and gravy, also served with potatoes. Both were very good. On our way out we purchased a couple of donuts for the road. They have 2 cases for bakery- one of which is devoted to donuts. The other had brownies and cookies. There is also freshly baked bread in several varieties. They were crazy busy with call in orders and the owner came out to help. We were thanked when we ordered, when our food was delivered and when we left! It has a coffeehouse atmosphere with a table of ladies playing cards, a girl on here computer and what looked like a small business meeting going on around us.
