Delicious Vietnamese coffee & variety pack of macaroons
    Isabel O.

Friendly & fast service. Delicious Vietnamese coffee hot. Tasty macaroons. Nice place to sit down and enjoy.

My happy place with a trusted 20ox London fog second to none.

What an amazing spot for a delicious drink - my poison is their London Fog 20oz $4.90 just the right balance between all the flavors. You can add to this the delicious oat cake or macaroons. It is also a popular place for their hot sandwiches and bagels. We also get our decaf organic coffee whole beans from there. Service is super efficient and warm. Plenty of space for you sit and such a warm conversational cozy feel.

The SF bagel on everything. The seasoning on the everything bagel was a little off and a little bit. It was burn a bit. Good amount of cream cheese (plain) Tomatoes and bacon. I enjoyed the touch of the pepper seasoning. Tomatoes were very fresh and cold. Overall it blended well and tasted great for a snack. Vibe is a bit off since it's inside a grocery store. Complimentary water.

I love the Vietnamese coffee here and the French ham baguette sandwich, to die for! One of my go to cafe in alameda. Must try.

Great cafe nestled in the Alameda Marketplace. I like to work here from time to time since they have a nice amount of tables Does get a little noisy but I just pop in headphones. They close at 3 but I left about 20 minutes after so it was nice they didn't kick everyone out

My family loves coming to The Beanery, especially for their spicy chicken panini! It's such a perfect lunch (or anytime) meal. The spicy sauce is really flavorful and not too spicy. The chicken is well cooked and not too dry. And the panini is perfectly toasted. I've gotten coffee from here as well and have never been disappointed. Most recently I also got an Italian soda. It was a little sweet for me so next time I'll ask for less syrup. But I still really liked it! They have SO many flavors available, I almost didn't know which to go with. If you need somewhere to start, you can't go wrong with orange (it's basically just an orange soda). Parking in the lot can be tough - there are plenty of spaces but it is shared with all the other businesses and restaurants. I would recommend parking on the street or in the neighborhood nearby as The Beanery is on the farther end of the market, away from the lot. They've got lots of tables, both inside and outside, if you plan to stay awhile. I even noticed a lot of people with their laptops, getting some work done. The cafe is accessible on its own from the outside but you can also get there by going through the market.

Cute little spit inside a food hall. People love their coffee cause the line was quite long! We also got food which were some bagels and they were pretty yummy after our little morning walk over the bridge. Nice area so definitely take the food on the go and explore the city or just have a nice little sidewalk patio meal!

First Time Visit/Review: I liked my iced Chai Latte with Oat milk but I would've liked it spicier even if I specified with the order taker. The Bacon Brie Egg Bite Sandwich was delicious -- must get. Crispy English Muffin with fresh egg & bacon baked together. The decor in the cafe was like a donut shop with glass display cases showing the pastries, bagels, scones etc that they had to offer with a menu board posted up in the back. I loved that there were enough individual tables and chairs for studying with electrical plugs for laptops. The tables were wooden glass framed with fresh coffee beans encased in for appropriate decor which was cute. Definitely will revisit! Please try out the Beanery!

I had the vietnamese coffee and lox bagel. The vietnamese coffee didn't taste as strong compared to the usual. It was still good and kept me awake for a while. As for the bagel, I found it a bit too firm. This place isn't big, but there's a good amount of outlets which make it nice for studying.

Nice community cafe, people of all ages come to this cafe to hang out or work (there are lots of outlets). It's your classic American cafe, with coffee beans incorporated in the table, dark wood furniture, warm colors, and cozy art on the walls. You can tell it's been around for a while. My friend and I had the Vietnamese coffee, which was sweet and although I agree with other reviews that it's not as strong as other Vietnamese coffees I'm used to having it's still a good amount of caffeine especially since we ordered a large! I was very pleasantly surprised to see that this cafe is able to keep their prices down. Come here for an affordable latte! Plus they've got plenty of sandwich items too! It's inside of a market area so is a lot of other eateries and grocery shopping you can do while you're there. We saw the tea shop next door start to set up for their anniversary celebration, so it was cute to see the tight knit community here.

And the bagels are tasty! The bagels are New York style, although they are a little outside the normal range of variation. We ordered a couple of poppy and sesame bagels, with a side of cream cheese. The crust on some of the bagels was soft and pale, while others had benefitted from a little more time in the oven and came out crisp. The dough inside, though, had a flat sweetness to it. There was a hint of malt flavor but it tasted more like a lightly sweet bread. The crumb was at the ideal midpoint between fluffy and chewy -- enough structure to hold up toppings but still light enough not to break your jaw. The cream cheese was on the firmer side but had a respectable tang. Perfectly matched to the bagel itself in both cases thickness and flavor. The trick here is to look closely at the bins: check which bagels came out golden brown and ask for those. This is a bakery after all! Get the breads that came out best and you won't be disappointed.

I opted for the matcha croissant, blackberry cream cheese danish, passionfruit bombolini, and vanilla bombolini, and all were amazing and not too sweet. The topper was the ube latte that I got along with everything. Overall, a great pit stop if you're in the area or if you just want to come here because of this place. Their menu selection is wide, offering a variety of lattes, coffees, and teas, but also both pastries and small meals as well. It's no wonder why they're always popping around this time of day. Although I haven't tried many of their drinks, I can say that their matcha latte has been consistently good. Today I ordered one with almond milk and the matcha flavor is nicely balanced. Good ratio between matcha and milk. The matcha itself tastes pretty well rounded - not bitter, but also not too subtle in flavor. I probably got the matcha here like three times and it has not failed me yet. My partner really enjoys the Malasada but they can sell out pretty quickly. Previously I've tried their Ube Crinkle and their donuts and they were pretty good as well. This time, I wanted something a little less sweet and small so I tried the Bibingka which was great! I love mochi and the Bibingka had a mochi texture to it. It comes with some pineapple bits which I tend to avoid, but my desire to try something new overrode that today and thankfully, the bits were small. It's a dense little bite, but I enjoyed it! A perfect little bike treat. I don't get much interaction here with the workers since it's such a quick stop, but it's okay. I think depending on what time you go, it just gets really busy and employees are just trying to chug out the orders. We'll be back again for those delicious drinks and pastries though!
