I'm forever grateful for that recommendation because they make some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I've tried a few items on the menu, but the one I always recommend is the Hot Italian. Everything about this sandwich is incredible. It's packed with flavor, and you can honestly tell it was made with care. I usually pair it with a bag of chips, and the total comes to around $18. It's absolutely worth every penny and always leaves me full and satisfied. The shop is consistently clean, and the customer service is always friendly and welcoming. I find myself going back over and over again, then telling myself I need to take a break--only to end up back there a few weeks later. That's how good it is. A couple of things to keep in mind before you visit: there's only limited street parking, so you may have to circle the block to find a spot. There's also not much room to wait inside, although they do have a bench or two where you can sit while your sandwich is being prepared. In my experience, the wait is usually around 15 minutes. I've honestly never been here when it wasn't busy, so expect a crowd. But once you take that first bite, you'll understand why. Great food, great atmosphere, and great customer service. We got home, no tomatoes, sandwich was missing stuff, my boyfriend's sandwich was missing stuff. It was disappointing. My father was very upset. I think they could be more friendly as well as being more adapting to certain people who are just communicating a specific need or want in their purchase. We had to use the bathroom, and the soap was out. The staff member brought a new one, but didn't know how to install it so it just sat on top of paper towels. Not a huge deal but bruh, figure it out. The guy was nice enough, but just sat and watched his phone when no one was at counter. There was also another guy, maybe from the kitchen (?) hanging out behind the counter sometimes as well. All while tables needed wiping, the bus tub was FULL with dishes, or either of them could have tried to get the soap installed. If there was no one at counter or food to cook it was stand around and stare at our phones. It's just sad Just a subpar experience for as much as food costs these days. Train the staff to stay busy and know how to bus tables and clean. And if you ever order the BLT chicken sandwich make sure to ask for no BBQ sauce. Yuk.

I always see the Beanery when driving in alameda, I finally decided to try it out and this will be my new spot. This place can't compare to Starbucks, this place beats it 100%. I've been here 3 times so far, but the iced Vietnamese coffee is always perfect. Today I decided to try the petit egg sandwhich, very simple Sandwhich, which includes English Mc muffin, egg, ham and cheese, and let me tell you it was one of the juiciest most delicious egg sandwiches I have ever tried so far. Choice of dark or medium roast drip coffee. The dark tastes very rich and, well, dark -- more so than a cup from Peet's or, heaven forfend, Starbucks. Decent pastries, sandwiches, friendly service and free Wi-Fi make this place popular with the locals. read more

I can get past that. What I CANNOT get past is the additional $0.50 CHARGE FOR ICE. ICE, y'all. Apparently making my latte iced costs an extra 50 cents. I genuinely don't think I've ever been charged extra simply for ordering an iced latte before. Someone else was treating me to coffee, so I wasn't about to make an issue out of 50 cents at the register, but seeing a literal upcharge for ICE definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. And actually, this isn't our first questionable upcharge here. The last time my colleague came in, they ordered a veggie breakfast burrito and paid extra to add avocado...only to get back to work, open it up, and realize there was no avocado in the burrito. So they paid the upcharge for absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, my Horchata Latte didn't save today's experience either. It tasted like anything BUT horchata and absolutely there was no cold foam or cinnamon on top as advertised on their menu. I kept waiting for that cinnamon-y, creamy horchata flavor to show up and...it never did. I think I speak for all when I say, STOP Ai-ing your menus and photos for drinks when they look nothing as advertised. The service itself was friendly, so no complaints there, but between the alternative milk upcharge, paying extra just to have a drink iced, the previous avocado situation, and then not really enjoying the drink itself, I honestly don't have much of a reason to come back for a third try. Charging for ice is wildddd. Nah, I'm cool.
