    Sandwich Board

Was craving a Deli sandwich . Saw this place online with good ratings . Decided to try them out . I definitely recommend. The staff was super nice and helpful (Zulaa and Tomo) told me about the popular sandwiches . I went with the Turkey and sourdough. I Was in and out in less than 5 min and the sandwich was delicious!

Sandwich Board has been around forever so it must be good, right? Have to admit I dont come here often, but felt like a turkey (sando) today. Have to street park on Webb or Park. Its tucked a little ways down Webb St so you kinda have to know its there. Not gonna just walk by it. Take out only - didnt see any place to sit down and eat. Ladies are super nice and fast. I changed my order 3 times. Oh you have specials - can I change to that? Oh you have roast beef - I'll have one of those too. "Sure, no problem". I ended up with the turkey salad special - yum yum with chunks of turkey. Mac salad was just OK, but I came for the sando. I think they would really well in the old Dimitra's location on Park St. by J-in-the-B with a parking lot, bus stop and lots of foot traffic. Anyways, gotta put Sandwich Board on my regular lunch spots from now on. Good food, super nice and fast service, very reasonable prices - what's not to like?

Colonel Jim's Special Roast Turkey w/ Avocado, Cranberry Sauce, Bacon, Cheddar Cheese $14

I've been coming to Sandwich Board for years, and it never disappoints. If you're looking for a real-deal sandwich that tastes homemade, this is the spot. My go-to is the Colonel Jim's Special -- it's stacked with roast turkey (a perfect mix of white and dark meat), avocado, cranberry sauce, crispy bacon, and cheddar cheese. It sounds like a Thanksgiving leftover dream, but it's elevated. And yes, it is as good as it sounds. What really sets this place apart is the turkey -- they roast it fresh every day and hand-slice it. You can tell immediately that it's not the usual processed deli stuff. The care they put into their food comes through in every bite. The sandwich is $14, which might seem steep until you see (and taste) it -- it's hearty, satisfying, and made with real ingredients. Worth every penny. The shop itself is tiny -- kind of a blink-and-you'll-miss-it spot -- and parking can be tricky, but the quality of the food and the great service more than makes up for it. It's the kind of place where you grab your sandwich and some chips and find a nice sunny bench nearby, or take it home and make it your main character meal for the day. Highly recommend supporting this local gem.

Got the #1 with mixed white and dark meat turkey w/ sprouts. I like that they make the turkey in house - it's a solid sandwich with a lot of good flavor and textures. Everything is so fresh and delicious. I'd come back again.

I absolutely love my go to turkey bacon avocado. Irs always so delish but today it was extra good just such a fresh full bite everytime. You get your choice of bread I recommend white roll but they have many other options like sliced white a wheat roll or sourdough. If you choice the fresh roasted turkey you can get all white meat, dark meat or mixed. Their Everything consists of mayo mustard lettuce onion picked and pepperccinies... extras are sprouts jalapeño cranberry or avocado.

One of my favorite sandwich shops on the island. Service is quick and the people are friendly. Good variety of chips and drinks. No dining in. Parking is limited (street parking).

I ordered a tuna sandwich with everything on Dutch crunch bread, along with some Harvest Cheddar SunChips and a Strawberry Kiwi Snapple. Let me tell you--the sandwich was excellent. The tuna tasted fresh, the lettuce and tomatoes were crisp, and that Dutch crunch bread brought it all together. Every bite was on point. Easily one of the best deli sandwiches I've had, especially from an independently owned spot. The place itself has a great old-school vibe. Lots of photos on the walls and even some Raiders memorabilia, which gives it a real local feel. When I got there, there were a few people ahead of me, so I waited about 10-15 minutes, but it was worth it. You can tell they're making everything fresh. There were about 4-5 people working behind the counter, and even though they were busy, they were still friendly, engaging, and interacting with customers, which I liked. The lady at the register was also very nice and welcoming. They've got a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. I've tried a few over the years, but next time I might go for something like the Chicago-style meatball sandwich. If you're in Alameda on Webster Street and want a fresh, high-quality sandwich, this is the spot. Perfect for grabbing something to go and heading over to the park or the beach on a nice day. Yes, it did come with extra meat, but I wasn't expecting it to be so huge! I can't believe this place is only 16 years old. You walk in, and it smells like an old time italian deli. The italian cookies, pickled olives, and fruitcakes brought back my memories of living in San Francisco's North Beach as a child. I was told all the bread is fresh, and they close when the bread runs out (EOB). Customer service was great. I was there at around 1pm, and I think the lunch rush just ended. The lady who served me said her husband was away on a break. I was able to sample their house made focaccia bread, and it was delicious. I took my sandwich to go, but they have tables if you want to eat there. It's called an italian market, but it's more like a deli that sells italian items. Now, the reason why I didn't try this place sooner, is because of the short hours. As of Jan 2026 the hours are 10:30-3pm or when the bread runs out M-F. On Saturday- 11:00- EOB, and closed on Sunday. Santoro's is in Alameda's West End. It's only two blocks west of Webster St, and walking distance from several schools.
