Usually there's a small line out the door and that has remained unchanged for this visit as well. They have a small space and tables for small parties both inside the cafe and along their front sidewalk. Their menu selection is wide, offering a variety of lattes, coffees, and teas, but also both pastries and small meals as well. It's no wonder why they're always popping around this time of day. Although I haven't tried many of their drinks, I can say that their matcha latte has been consistently good. Today I ordered one with almond milk and the matcha flavor is nicely balanced. Good ratio between matcha and milk. The matcha itself tastes pretty well rounded - not bitter, but also not too subtle in flavor. I probably got the matcha here like three times and it has not failed me yet. My partner really enjoys the Malasada but they can sell out pretty quickly. Previously I've tried their Ube Crinkle and their donuts and they were pretty good as well. This time, I wanted something a little less sweet and small so I tried the Bibingka which was great! I love mochi and the Bibingka had a mochi texture to it. It comes with some pineapple bits which I tend to avoid, but my desire to try something new overrode that today and thankfully, the bits were small. It's a dense little bite, but I enjoyed it! A perfect little bike treat. I don't get much interaction here with the workers since it's such a quick stop, but it's okay. I think depending on what time you go, it just gets really busy and employees are just trying to chug out the orders. We'll be back again for those delicious drinks and pastries though!

This was my second visit and unfortunately...I'm gonna have a little "Karen" moment... I ordered their seasonal Horchata Latte, iced with almond milk. They were out of almond milk, but offered oat milk instead. Ehhh, I've been trying to get off the oat milk lately, but whatever, I said okay. Then while he's ringing me up, I notice the $0.75 upcharge for alternative milk. Mildly annoying because in this economy alternative milk can practically be cheaper than regular milk at this point lol. Even Peet's stopped charging extra for non-dairy milk, but fine. I can get past that. What I CANNOT get past is the additional $0.50 CHARGE FOR ICE. ICE, y'all. Apparently making my latte iced costs an extra 50 cents. I genuinely don't think I've ever been charged extra simply for ordering an iced latte before. Someone else was treating me to coffee, so I wasn't about to make an issue out of 50 cents at the register, but seeing a literal upcharge for ICE definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. And actually, this isn't our first questionable upcharge here. The last time my colleague came in, they ordered a veggie breakfast burrito and paid extra to add avocado...only to get back to work, open it up, and realize there was no avocado in the burrito. So they paid the upcharge for absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, my Horchata Latte didn't save today's experience either. It tasted like anything BUT horchata and absolutely there was no cold foam or cinnamon on top as advertised on their menu. I kept waiting for that cinnamon-y, creamy horchata flavor to show up and...it never did. I think I speak for all when I say, STOP Ai-ing your menus and photos for drinks when they look nothing as advertised. The service itself was friendly, so no complaints there, but between the alternative milk upcharge, paying extra just to have a drink iced, the previous avocado situation, and then not really enjoying the drink itself, I honestly don't have much of a reason to come back for a third try. Charging for ice is wildddd. Nah, I'm cool.
