I think we've all seen the wave of companies promoting signature iced coffee drinks this summer (maybe even longer than that) so whenever I pop into a coffee shop I'm unfamiliar with I expect the drink to be more of a cute little treat than quality coffee. I got a medium iced oat milk latte and it was $8.00. I get it that rent is expensive but $8.00 for a 12 oz cup that is half ice is crazy!! Then tip brings it up to $9. The atmosphere was just okay. Came here a few times to try their items and i love how their items aren't that sweet compared to other cafes. I enjoyed their lemon poppy muffin & their lavender latte. Lemon poppy muffin-5/5- not too sour or sweet. It had just the right texture and i would totally get it again! Lavender latte- 5/5- honestly the winner out of all the drinks I've tried here. The lavender compliments the coffee out and it just makes you feel caffeinated. Service is always nice here & theres ample seating. No minimum for card and they have 2 bathrooms I believe. This AAPI-female owned coffee shop is wonderful! I got to try their new seasonal drinks (coming soon) and both were great. The Lavender Latte does have a good lavender taste and the Einspanner comes with a rich cream. I would pass on the matcha; thought it was just alright and too earthy. However, their Avocado Toast is really fresh and yummy! I would also recommend the Nutella Banana Bread which is not overly sweet. One thing to note, the entrance is a bit hidden between some tall columns! The inside is cute with a few tables to sit and enjoy, and I noticed quite a few little stuffed sloths as well. Not sure the story behind them, but it was a fun touch. We got a cold brew and a honey latte to share. I thought the cold brew was a bit bitter for my preferences, and the honey latte was indulgently sweet. Together, they unintentionally made a great pairing! If I'm in the mood for a cold brew I'd likely go elsewhere, but I would definitely return for the honey latte (or to try another drink)! read more

Service was pleasant. Wasn't busy when I arrived, only one other customer. Seating was plentiful. I ordered the darkest/strongest pour over and an avocado toast with poached egg. Shortly afterwards the barista informed me that they didn't have the usual (best seller, Peruvian maybe) and maybe I'd prefer a medium roast. Well enough, it's was decent, but that's more my personal preference. The avocado and the toast were ok (just ok - not bad not great). However the "poached" egg was just a microwaved hard boiled egg. That defeats the entire purpose of getting the poached on the toast. It (along with 15-minute wait) killed the experience. Thankfully I was able to stop on my way back to the apartment at Dunk'n Donuts on Pine St and get a cup of their Midnight Coffee. That gave me the dark brewed flavor I was craving. read more

Had a bad experience in this location today. I gave 2 stars because the products were good. The service, however left a really bad taste in my mouth. I got coffee and a pastry. Then, I decided I wanted another pastry and asked the lady at the register to do an exchange. So far, so good. Here is the problem. Instead of doing an exchange, she took the pastry I got, gave me another one - charged me for the new one and never refunded the difference. I saw the transaction on my phone and asked her about it. First, she pretended to be busy with another customer and didn't answer my question. When the customer left, she lied and said she gave me a refund. I checked my account and saw that I paid $13 for a small coffee and a cookie. NY is expensive- but this is insane. I was mainly upset because the server lied about the refund, failed to address my question and I ended up over paying for something I didn't want. The coffee and the cookie were good - but the experience was not. I felt like she was "stealing" knowingly from me and I would have preferred if she just acknowledged and corrected her mistake. It's less about the money and more about the principle. If someone overcharged you and lied about it - would you go to the place again? Could this be an isolated experience? Maybe... but I do not want to see if it happens again. read more

My feelings about those changes (more metal, brighter lights) are mixed. I wrestle internally about where to get my morning coffee, and this place may win 30% of the time depending on which coworker I'm going with. Chronically burnt bagels and snippy comments by the cashiers make this place special for some reason. The iced green tea is basically water with yellow food coloring in it. Coffee itself is good but not astronomical. Still, I kinda love this place and keep ordering this stuff. Pour overs are indeed excellent if you're in the mood for something special and expensive. You used to be able to save 10% by using the cups app. This time has come and gone. I am straight terrified of the revolving door in this establishment. Don't drink the coffee after 4PM.
