I liked the spacious set up, mostly for the colors it allows the ambiance to feel very mellow. I was originally going for a hot chocolate which is what I usually get anywhere but the barista Ariana absolutely sold me on trying the Iced dulce de leche and I have absolutely no regrets! The ambience is excellent for catching up with friends or working, but the space is small, so beware if you arrive with a large group in terms of seating and service speeds. -- Hiding away from the torrential rain and cold this past Thanksgiving Day, I thoroughly enjoyed sipping on my coffee at 787. I wish I had gotten the server's name, but she was the sweetest! She explained to us how typically most coffee beans have a chocolate flavor, and how 787 offers flavors of Puerto Rican coffee with alcoholic flavor undertones. Still a bit skeptical, we gave the hot tres leche latte a try, and we were not disappointed. Although a little expensive at $11/cup ($8 coffee, $3 rum/whiskey upgrade), we didn't regret it. The coffee came in a beautiful mug with latte art atop. Two people shared one cup and we found it was a good portion, without too much caffeine. We also tried a chicken empanada. The skin was a bit tough but the inside was filling. Not the best I've ever had, but it was a nice savory treat to have with coffee. The interior is small, with a mix and match situation of couches, benches, window sill seating, chairs, and tables. We sat at the cozy couch and spent time doing work and crafts. The free internet was fast and reliable, and there are many outlets located throughout. It was so cozy and warm, my friend actually took a nap. The server was very friendly and when we were there, she even helped others take photos for a friend group photoshoot when it got slow. It got a bit loud when the crowd increased since it is such a small space. Also, if a large group comes at once, I can see service being slow (as there was only one server). I got a hot horchata latte here because of all the recs and it was exactly as people said - very good and not too sweet. I loved that they added latte art on the foam. I was shocked when the barista was initially telling me to pair it with rum-infused coffee, which would've made my order cost $11. With regular beans it brought it down to $8, which is still very steep. So I'll rate this a 4/5 for the value - it's a once-in-a-while splurge! read more

Wow! What an excellent barista behind the counter. This is a Puerto Rican coffee house. It is a single origin coffee from Puerto Rico. Unique coffees infused with rum or whiskey are available. The store itself is bright and fun and welcoming...just like Puerto Rico! Plenty of comfortable seating; clean and inviting. The young man heard that it was our first time here and he was very helpful. I ended up with the Coquito latte with whiskey infused coffee. So good!! The whiskey takes it to another level! My daughter got a Dulce de Leche Latte and her fiancé got the Tres Leche Latte. The Tres Leche Latte was yummy with hints of cinnamon! The Dulce Leche Latte with whiskey infused coffee, I think was the best and most coffee flavor. That is what I'm getting next time, for sure. We also indulged in some sweets. We came here to grab a late afternoon coffee. I had a rum infused flat white coffee. It was strong with sweet rum flavor. Service was on point. Staff was friendly. It was good coffee though - all components were nicely balanced. I tasted a hint of alcohol - reminiscent of when I eat wine infused chocolate. FYI - they didn't have skim milk so I opted for 2%. The gentleman that took my order was pleasant. The decor was like a tropical bungalow. They filled up the space with tables, chairs and a sofa. There's a restroom. Ugh amazinggggg coffee that I wish wasn't so expensive! I've been to this particular location of 787 Coffee twice in the past two weeks and it's a hit every time. I tried the Tres Leches and Mazapán lattes both with the rum beans and they were delicious. The staff there are also really kind, offering suggestions for drinks and being overall quite helpful and accommodating. Despite its popularity, I've also never had an issue finding a seat at this location which is lovely. It's a great place to sit and catch up with a friend. Visit any of their locations throughout Manhattan. This location in Tribeca is cozy and sort of tropical. 787 Coffee serves fresh coffee grown in the mountains of Puerto Rico. They have a few specialty drinks like iced coquito lattees (sounds yummy), horchata Latte, rum-infused drinks. They all seem interesting. I just went in for a regular cup of latte. I did find it odd that a Puerto Rican place did not sell cafe con leche. But anyways the latte was creamy and rich. Overall, 4.5-ish. read more

Cannot say enough good things about 787! One of my favorite coffee shops in the city all bc of their service and amazing specialty lattes! Every encounter I have w staff at any cafe is amazing, and this stands out so much in the city! Always a pleasant surprise, and it's even better on top of the amazing coffees and food items they serve up here too. I always love coming in for their mazapan and Coquito lattes. While the coffee was good quality I didn't realize I was upsold by the barista and ended up paying $12 for a regular size latte. I should have asked if any of the add ons she's recommending are extra, but I presumed that it was included in already up there $8/$9 + tax price. If you are in a rush, do NOT come here. The barista took over 25 minutes to complete two orders on a weekday morning at 10 am. Then proceeded to give me a hot coffee when I asked for iced (and she confirmed hot or iced with me) and tried to charge me for a cookie I never asked for. I don't know why this level of incompetence is tolerated here the line was almost out the door. Literally going somewhere else, roasting your own beans, hand grinding them and making a pour over would have been faster. All that for 8$ drinks. read more

The empanadas in this place are great and the coffee I had tried earlier was terrific. Also, the place is cosy, homey, and stylish at the same time. But their lack of regard for potential COVID exposure might just kill you. So, it s a free country - make up your mind if you want to risk your life for a cup of coffee no matter how good it is, Godspeed. I am sure a lot of people will love it precisely because nobody cares about COVID in this place. And that's fine. I don't think I am going back though after what I've seen today.The barista looked very sick, poor girl, she was sneezing and coughing and wiping her nose and her face with her hands while making my coffee. She was wearing a pathetic dirty cloth mask which gives zero protection both to the wearer and the poor shmucks around her. She changed the mask at some point to a baggie blue mask (not much of a protection either) and seeing my terrified look washed her hands and started re-making my coffee. Meanwhile, she left the dirty pink cloth mask by the sink. She didn't put gloves and kept touching the cup with her hands. I ended up leaving the coffee shop in horror without my coffee. I feel bad about leaving this review but I hope it might save lives. Mind you, I realize that the sick barista lady who showed up at work no matter what is a hero. I am grateful to each and every girl and guy in the service industry who go to work no matter what. They are unsung heroes. But guys please, can we be smart about it? It's simple.
