It was busy when we came, but we didn't wait too long. Small inside but absolutely worth it. The avocado Benedict was the best I have ever had. My husband had the country skillet and he rated it an 8 out of 10. We also tried the stuffed French toast with strawberry and cream cheese. I could only eat 2 bites but it was delicious. First time at the cafe and I enjoyed it very much. Out with my beautiful fiancé fresh off of working an overnight 12 hr shift so you know I was ready to chow down! My baby knows I'm quite particular but that didn't stop her from choosing a new found favorite! Place is a little small and reminds me of a place that has lots of regulars. Food was delicious, staff extremely friendly and service on point. My fiancé got the strawberry and cream cheese stuffed French toast which she thought wasnt quite sweet enough. I liked the bite I had and I'm not a French toast fan. She also had the home style potatoes which were great. I had the standard pancakes, eggs Benedict and hash browns with a glass of OJ and coffee. This is the reason why people live. I heard a quote the other day when someone was telling me that they used to eat on their lunch break while driving from the place they picked up lunch and back to their office. This is the best breakfast we have had in Melbourne. It's the 5th breakfast joint we've tried... Honestly, the only thing that bummed us out is that we didn't try it first. We probably would have been back every day. The server was super sweet and attentive even though every table was full. My toddler even cleaned his plate! PSA, this is a kid too picky to even like chicken nuggets.. so if he likes it, any kid will like it!! I came here with my family for breakfast following an 8k, so we were pretty hungry. There was a short wait, but it was a Saturday morning, so it was to be expected. I like that we were only a block from the beach, so we could walk over after our meal. Our server was super cute. She was really sweet and took great care of us. We were all extra hungry, so we ordered an extra plate of biscuits and gravy along with our meals. I enjoyed my Eggs Benedict with avocado and hash browns. Everything was hot and delish. I was on my way to the airport and thought I'd have time to grab a quick bite before my flight. Scanning the menu I see burrittos. Yes! quick, easy, portable. I order a breakfast burritto with ham, egg, cheese, peppers, onion, and mushrooms. 20mins later, I get my burritto. 20mins for a burritto? Really? Maybe they are busy in the kitchen? but theres only a few other tables in here...humm Well, its here so I must start eating, FAST! It was OK. Nothing special. I've personally made better breakfast burrittos at home. This one had a little too much cheese for my liking. And I dont like my scrambled eggs laying flat like a pancake...you cant really taste em that way. The potatoes were greasy and lacked flavor. Just sauted potatoes with some salt on them. (see picture) $13 + tip for a breakfast burritto, a small side of potatoes, and a apple juice. A bit pricey in my opinion. Overall, I wasnt impressed. My family spent two weeks on vacation in Melbourne in August and I'm pretty sure we ate at Beachside Cafe at least 6 times. By day two, they knew us by name and treated us like we were family. Having a cozy spot with amazing food is not something you can easily find and this place is exactly that. Great service, friendly atmosphere and delicious food. The people who work here have always been nice to me. I find it comforting. I can't be the only one who feels this way either because the place is always packed and there is a line out the door on weekends. My children love the club sandwich. I'm partial to the grilled chicken Caesar salad. I've enjoyed the quiches and muffins on the grill. Love the pancakes and eggs too. Bacon is always just the right amount of crispness.
