Food was very good and the coffee was excellent. I had one of their skillets and it was very good. Eggs, hash browns, cheese and avocado. Everything was fresh and well prepared. I had a late wake-up this past Saturday and wanted to get some breakfast food. I love to try new food and base most of my decisions on a good rating. I Yelped Beachside Cafe and was sold on the photos. My husband and I got there a little after 1pm (they close at 2pm). Looks like every other diner, I thought it might have more of a beach decor but it did what it could. You seat yourself, so we chose the 4 top that was clean. Our server asked us what we wanted to drink but we never got her name. I knew I wanted breakfast, and he wanted lunch so we placed our orders by the time she returned with the drinks. I ordered the strawberry & banana stuffed French Toast. My husband ordered the Club Sandwich with onion rings. They gave us what I refer to as 'Mexican Restaurant service.' Haha. It was respectably fast. When I say fast, I think the total time we were there was 25minutes. So fast that when we ate 1/2 each and asked for a box she said 'Was there something wrong?' We just laughed and said no -the cooking was just so quick!! The club looked amazing, and I was almost jealous. Carved meat on the sandwich, not just meat slices. I will post a photo of this. The French a Toast was up my alley. Thick and fried! I could only eat part of it. I also ordered an orange juice, it was very good. Unsure of the brand. I would recommend going here about this time or maybe 12:30pm. Seems like they would be a very busy spot. I guess my only negative comment was the other servers seemed to be annoyed people were showing up at 1:45 etc. I've worked restaurants, so I mentally prepare for SOMEONE to show up last minute. Went with a group of five, waited 30 min, never got seated just left. 2 booths had 1 person sitting at each. A couple that came in after us were seated at the only table large enough to fit a group of 5. Really bad customer service. Extremely disappointed. My only complaint is that I could only eat here one time during our short vacation. Amazing service and great breakfast selections and good coffee. My wife had the build your own omelette and hash browns which she loved. I had the chicken fried steak and gravy egg platter with home fries and rye toast. All were amazingly good. We never had an empty soda glass or coffee cup. Friendly and efficient waitress. It is a small place located next to some other shops and restaurant so it fills up quickly as it is obvious the locals come here too. Breakfast was good, I had a deli omelet. Good price quick service, but not the greatest. Not sure if I would come back tho...this place need a good cleaning. If it wasn't because my wife wanted to eat there and my son was beyond his hungry we would of left. From the moment we walked in there was a funky smell that made my son act like he was going to throw up from up. The AC vents look like they have not been cleaned in atleast 6 months. Beachside Cafe is a breakfast must for us when visiting the area. We stumbled upon this place when we first drove into to Melbourne in 2019 after a long car trip from Ohio. The food not only was amazing, the staff was super friendly and accommodating, especially to weary travelers. We raved our entire vacation about the place so when we came back to the area the year this year, we looked forward to stopping again. We joked that two years later we hoped our memories of the great food held true and that it wasn't just our delirium from a 17 hr trip back then. Let me tell you, the food was as amazing as we remembered. My one child could not wait to get the Strawberry Stuffed French Toast again. My other enjoyed the traditional Eggs Benedict with perfectly prepared poached eggs. My husband had the Deli Omelet with pastrami which he raved about and I had the Avocado Skillet and left not one crumb on my plate. The hash browns are also a must-super crispy and delicious. I highly recommend this family owned and operated establishment and can't wait to stop in again next year. read more

Arrived at about 9:30 on a Wednesday morning. They were able to seat us within 5 minutes for a table of six. Coffee and orders were quickly taken. A couple of stuffed French toast, hash, Benedict, and pancakes were ordered. Everything was great. Benedict eggs were as requested. The stuffed French toast is lightly battered and deep fried. AWESOME FOOD, BEACH TOWN AMBIENCE, TOP NOTCH SERVICE! My hubby and I have lived beachside for years and never been here. WOW the things we were missing. The best parts: CLICK MY PROFILE PIC TO SEE MY PATTY MELT lol -my Patty Melt was incredible. THICK n JUICY. Home made hand sliced and grilled rye was mild and delicious ( I usually don't like rye but the great waitress talked me into it and I'm glad she did). Home fries fresh made, not greasy. - substitutions are not met with open hostility at Beachside Cafe! No big red letters warning you the consequences of asking for them LOL. I got my mushrooms instead of onions and my cheddar instead of swiss. MELTED in the mouth- my dogs mouth too because he broke into my leftovers and ate them! It was so much food I had most of my meal in a take out.......... shoulda had them put it in a DOGGY PROOF box. :) -hubby's lunch looked AWESOME. A TEXAS T MELT- bacon tomato and cheese......... I was gonna take a bite but my husband gave me "the look" like if I tried I would be pulling back a stump! His onions rings were great too (he gave me one) .. no grease. - -Menu is varied and creative. No foo foo just "the greats" with more variety than most. UNIQUE but still traditional. Reminds me of a great diner with variety for all but NOT diner quality. True home cooked feel. -SERVICE IMPECCABLE. Fast refills on drinks without having to ask. Great guide through the menu which was new to us. Highlighted things that were always on our "no" list and got us to branch out-not by being pushy, just by taking the TIME to explain things in detail and opening our eyes a little. -BOOTHS AVAILABLE YAY!!! -no 30-60 min. wait but not empty either (always a great sign :). -right next door to a bakery if you want to go shop for the nights dessert :) -fresh deli salads, chicken salad looked delicious-shredded chicken with shredded carrot instead of onion .... yeah boy! I don't know what all the hype is. Went here for lunch. If you are plant-based, you're going to be hard pressed to find anything to eat here. Maybe just have the coffee. The entire facility could use a facelift. Great for anyone who is looking for diner style breakfast- eggs, meat and potato, with a side of grease. Their food just isn't for me. I'm really glad to hear that the Fusco's sold this place, otherwise I would never return. Under new ownership comes the promise of a better experience. This was a place my ex husband favored and we ate here nearly every weekend for a few years. I would have to nitpick my order just to ensure it didn't come to the table completely botched. For example I would have to say I liked my scrambled eggs dry or they would be oozing. The chicken sandwich always had weird rubbery parts on it and too much chicken on the bun. I would ask for no onions in the potatoes and every time they would add onions anyhow. Finally I told the same server we had nearly every time that if onions came with the potatoes I would send them back. It had been forgiven too many times. She said "well Luigi cooks them on the grill with onions" and my mouth almost dropped. A poor excuse for a lazy chef. Lazy is a bit harsh considering he did most of the cooking but he could have always hired help. When your product suffers because you're swamped then it's an indication to pad the staff. When I used to eat here there was one server (the one we had most times) that did the bulk of the food prep while the other girls just kind of scraped by. It seemed almost insulting how much work she put into the job while they others didn't help out. Under the Fusco ownership, a server there mentioned that Luigi rarely cleaned the iced tea machine and it looked pretty bad. That was horrible because I ordered that every time. I also had to ask for it in a to-go cup because the plastic cups they used tasted like bleach. The same server also told me about the time the Fuscos considered charging people for the jelly and sugars. Lucky for them they were talked out of it but that says a lot about how they viewed their customer base. Based on the current reviews, it's clear to me that new ownership is probably working in their favor and I'd like to go back and try it out again, It's very difficult to find time considering the hours, or have those changed? read more

I was very happy with the food and friendly service at this small cafe. My family and I liked it so much we went two days in a row. The coffee was hot and rich with flavor.
