I really like their seafood pancake, but that is about it. This restaurant is open at a weird location, though parking is very convenient. I tried a couple of their dishes, and none of them would bring me back for more. One of the soup-based dish was so salty and spicy, i had to ask the waitress to bring the dish back, which i rarely do so. I do like the little dishes of free appetizers they served there. the owner changed since COVID. i've been back here twice thinking it will be better each time (and to support local business!) but the food quality isnt just the same. the menu changed (some offerings, even if it's on it, she will say it's only seasonal), and the service changed as well. i ordered the seafood pancake and it was a salt/msg bomb. the staff are covid conscious and friendly, but the food doesn't cut it for me. it's a shame bc i used to come here all the time. read more

This is my favorite Korean spot in Bmore. If you can get past the fact that its located in a crappy mini-mall between a take-out Chinese place and a Dunkin Doughnuts, you're in for a treat. This place is incredible. The crew are very respectful and kind. If you have never had Korean BBQ you are missing out, there is a piece of your self that you finally find when you have it. The quality of meat and seafood is great and just having everything cooked in your center grill is amazing. The only possible warning I would give is the spice level. If you aren't one for spicy food, ask before you order. Korean food does not $#%@ around when it comes to their spice, but that is part of what makes it so incredible. read more

Given the high Yelp reviews I had to give the place a try (especially since they were higher than Nak Won) and unfortunately I was disappointed. The BBQ was pretty standard but a couple notches below Nak Won and the spicy fried chicken was awesome (which saved the meal) but the hot pots were not very good at all. The kimchi stew (kimchi jigue) had a strong fish taste, which was odd because it was a pork stew. The same went with the udon which was both fishy and sweet. All it all the place was ok at best and if you are in the area, you are better off going to Nak Won (which I feel is the best in Baltimore). read more

The service is slow, there are better and cheaper Korean places in the area, and they overload everything with cheap kimchi and spam if they can get away with it. No bueno. My 3 friends and I got the $99 bbq combo and it was a perfect portion to fill all of us up. The meats along with the many side dishes were all good. Our waitress and the lady who cooked our food were both very friendly and interacted with us often. I also really liked that they gave free Yakults instead of mints. The only thing I did not enjoy was the hot tea. It had a very weird taste to it. I was expecting Jasmine tea or maybe Green tea, but it definitely wasn't any of those. This is a great new addition to the handful of Korean restaurants in lower Charles Village. The restaurant is clean and bright and the service is quick and attentive. The kimchi pancake is smaller than most and a little puffier, almost like they used some baking powder? But tasty nonetheless. The shabu shabu (I've only had pork) was absolutely delicious and I love going home with a container full of Jook (Korean rice porridge) at the end of the meal! Other stand outs are the tofu kimchi bokeum and the kimchi chigae (terrific kimchi stew). I would absolutely recommend this place. read more

I have never been to a restaurant like this. Servers were so rude that they were neglecting customers. I asked them when the food is coming and they were like "wait" with a stopping hand gesture. I understand that food can come out late during rush time but their attitudes were so bad that I felt like I was begging them to give me food that I ordered. Tried this new Korean restaurant and loved it. We went with two friends, one who lived in Korea, and they thought the restaurant was very authentic-----even down to the bell at every table that you would ring for service. Highlights were the Kimchi pancake and Galbi Barbecue. Waitress was friendly and attentive. And I was impressed that they found my chopsticks that I left behind so I was able to pick them up the next day. I am definitely going back. read more

Not sure why Yelp hid my original review, but I've been going to Be-One about once a week for over a year now. I've tried a lot of the menu, but I always go back to the soups. I love this place! Definitely was reminiscent to the korean restaurants I go to back home in NYC. Since it was cold out, I vowed for the beef hot pot. Servers are very attentive, they constantly checked up on me to make sure my burner was at the right temperature. There's a great selection of korean dishes, you can almost get anything from here. Service was quick, the food didn't take too long to arrive. The beef hot pot came with rice noodles, cabbage, egg, shrimp, a whole plate of beef, enoki mushrooms, bok choy and so much more. You also get to mix your own dipping sauce. At the end of my meal, they added extra rice to use up the soup that was left over and put in some seaweed and more seasoning, it was like a nice hot rice broth. They also gave flavored milk when the check came. The koreans here love to overfill you with so much food! I'll definitely come back to try the usual stuff I get.. kalbi and bulgogi and dukbokki! So glad this place opened up, it's a MUCH better alternative to Nak Won down the block!! read more

TERRIBLE! Terrible service, terrible food....A NIGHTMARE!!!! Went there last night for my daughter's birthday; it was a party of 7. It all started when we got there...my daughter and son-in-law were seated and waited for us at table for 5 minutes while we parked; restaurant was not busy and it took 1/2 hour wait to get water. My nephew got up and went up to our waitress half way up an aisle to ask where restroom was; the waitress spoke with owner and waitress came back and said it was "for customer only". Nephew had to inform waitress he was a customer. I ordered lamb and got beef....waiter came back and said it was lamb. It turns out lamb went to another customer because of mixup. Beef was burnt and hard; unchewable! BBQ pork was not turned even though waitress said would do it and had done the previous meats. By the time we turned it it was burnt and the sizzling made all customers turn. There were only napkins for 4 persons. Bottom line, we spoke with the so-called owner and he made no apology just said they were busy (which was not the case). Never apologized to my nephew because he said all customers know where bathroom is and go right to it. I've never experienced such rudeness! DON'T GO THERE! AND THE FOOD SUCKED! read more

The "ban-chan" (which is the food that comes out before the main dishes) was only provided on one side of the table so the customers on the other side of the table could not reach them so we asked for a double set (which is not abnormal to do) and the waitress said to just eat what we gave you. How rude! Then we ordered korean bbq and a piece of cooked meat came out from the pile of raw meat... do they reuse leftovers? We asked the waitress and she tried to act like it never happened and brushed it under the rug but we asked again and she just blinked at us and walked away without even saying anything like "excuse me" or "let me go get the manager". Who leaves us hanging like that when we asked a question? Then the waitress left the tongs that she used to touch raw meat and left them on our plate that was RIGHT infront of us and that we were still using. My family and I were deciding between going to a korean bbq restaurant thats 45 min from us or one thats 15 min.... we shouldve went to the 45 min one. This was my first venture into a Baltimore City Korean restaurant. It's located in a sketchy part of town, but at least there is off street parking in a strip mall lot. The good news is that it is an authentic Korean restaurant (not fusion or pan-asian). Service was standard for a low key Korean place--an ajumah will quickly take your order and won't check in on you again until it's time to clear the dishes. We had the seafood pancake, which was thicker and doughier than I'm used to, but it was full of seafood and quite tasty. The fried mackerel was fantastic. Seafood soondoobu jigae was overly salty and the flavor balance off. Mandoo gook was good enough. The broth was a bit thin, but the mandoos were authentic home made which made up for the mediocre broth. Kimchi jigae, again overly salty and missing that tangy bite of overly fermented kimchi. Gomtang was under salted but that was welcome as we could add to our taste. Panchans were also hit and miss. Japjae, kimchi, kongnamul, potato salad were yummy but the rest were meh. I was totally off put by the fruit salad, which was a melange of really old smushy and slimy strawberries and watermelon. Overall, don't expect a home run meal but if you're in the mood for authentic Korean and don't want to schlep to EC/Catonsville, this is an acceptable alternative.
