Well unfortunately didn't like it. Way too much seasoning on the meat for my taste. Won't be visiting again.

We ordered ourselves a little sampler this time of sausage, pulled pork, brisket, potato salad, cream corn, pinto beans, and the Marvelous Taco. They really knock it out of the park with the brisket and pulled pork. The sausage had the very satisfying snap and was very tasty. There is a good smoke level on everything and I cannot wait to return. We had a magnificent time standing in line and visiting with everyone, including Santa! I would like to mention also that this place is very clean and has clean restroom. The staff here are super friendly and a lot of fun to visit with.

We visited on a Tuesday right when it opened, and it was already filling up with happy patrons. The ample parking and friendly staff made for a great start to the meal. The Meats The brisket had a delicious salt and pepper bark with a nice crust. While it could have been a bit more moist, the rich, smoky flavor was on point and a great representation of a classic Texas brisket. The ribs were a definite standout. They had a beautiful, deep smoke ring and came clean off the bone with a perfect pull, not just falling apart. The dry rub bark was fantastic, allowing the natural smoky flavor of the meat to shine. Both of the sausages were excellent. The house sausage was juicy with a satisfying snap to the casing and a nice peppery kick. The boudin sausage packed a great spicy flavor without being overly filled, which can often make boudin greasy. The Sides & Appetizers We also tried a couple of the unique sides and appetizers. The jalapeño poppers were a pleasant surprise. I usually prefer a protein filling, but the cream cheese had a wonderfully flavorful and creamy texture that won me over. The jalapeño crème corn was another highlight--incredibly creamy with a tangy, spicy kick from the pickled jalapeños mixed throughout. Overall, this barbecue joint is a must-visit. The quality of the meat and the delicious sides truly set it apart.

This location's on Stallings, on the left before you arrive at Lowe's. Easy to turn in, or to escape with your tasty dinner fixins. Check out the menu photo: There's the usual armada of entries and desserts, served with a smile. I'm especially partial to the truly superior BBQ-baked beans. Don't over-look the tater salad, either! Their onions are sliced, not chopped, same for their dill pickles. Items can be ordered in 'bulk' or in standard meal plates. This really comes in handy when you don't know exactly how many relations will be showing up in your kitchen. If you're in the mood for a BBQ dinner that's totally non-traditional, order your bulk chopped beef with smoked sausages blended in! Trust me, it will change your BBQ world!

I had loved the food here for so long and now I am completely and suddenly disgusted. We left and have not been back since. I can't make myself go back. The owner seems to be a nice guy but it obviously did not faze him a bit. The health inspector said that they have proof that they have sprayed for roaches but somehow he let this business stay open. I was totally grossed out. Can't go back and will not suggest this business to anyone.

Our service was top notch. Thank you, Gabby! Someone give that gal a shout out in your next team meeting. She was so attentive and kind. The place was packed for a Saturday evening - lots of large groups of locals. Everyone seemed to know everyone. I've ordered the chicken and dumplings here before and it was very peppery, but tonight it was perfectly seasoned. Warm. Filling. Everything you want. Husband got the fried fish basket - perfectly flakey and moist fish. He thought he ordered the plate but got the basket which is only one side, which he didn't mind but wish he clarified first. You know what stole the show? Their cornbread. I don't know what voodoo they put in their cornbread, but it is so moist, sweet with a crispy outside. Pass on those yeast rolls and just go for the cornbread, you'll thank me later! The restaurant was clean and didn't have any weird smells. We were greeted upon entrance and promptly served.

Makes you feel like you're in a Texas country town for sure! My daughter and I were in Nacogdoches for college visit to SFA and we looked this place up in the hopes that we would find something different than a normal chain stop. It certainly is different and was exactly what you might imagine. Everything on the menu is decently priced and it seems that Tuesday is the place to be with short stack specials for $2 along with the weekday breakfast special at $6.95 On of my daughter's favorite meals is chicken fried steak and what better place to try that than a local diner??? Unfortunately it fell below expectations. The portions were quite large, enough that we could have just split a plate. The idea of sausage gravy on top of the mashed potatos and steak sounds heavy but also potentially fantastic. However both the gravy and the fry were quite under seasoned. I was able to fix mine with some cholula sauce and some salt and pepper was a quick fix as well for my daughter. The side of green beans and carrots she got were actually pretty good so perhaps there was just a disconnect in flavor at the meat station this day. I did very much enjoy the side salad I chose instead of the veggie medley. Came with home-made ranch which brought me back to my East Texas family gatherings with the freshly shaken ranch.....it was great. The portion size was pretty fair value at $13. Like I said we could have just split it between us. Very hit or miss flavors leaves this at a 3-stars for me. But no doubt some of the nicest folks in town work here.
