Will never eat here again. My 15-month-old daughter was served completely raw chicken. When I took it back up there, the man said "Oh maybe if you tell a manager you could get a free Oreo", like that somehow makes up for serving a toddler raw food. They "recooked it and brought it back out. Then my chicken was undercooked and still cold in the middle. To make it even worse, while we were getting our food cooked the first time, there was a rude guy cooking who screamed at my husband. Completely unprofessional and uncomfortable before we even realized the food served to us was raw. The service was horrible, the people cooking the food were even worse, and nobody seemed to care that they served unsafe food to a child. If the raw and undercooked food wasn't enough to make me never come back, the attitude and behavior from the employees definitely sealed it. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not ever return. I really enjoyed the food here, especially that they had tofu and plenty of vegetables for a vegetarian option! I went with the orange sauce with some peanuts and a little bit of curry powder. I would come back for that same dish! I also appreciated that on the big cooking top, they put additional separators for my food since it was vegetarian, to keep it away from the other foods being cooked. The concept of building your own bowl is a fun one! The only reason I had to put three stars is because my husband needed his meal cooked in the back because he has food allergies, and it took forever to come out. We were halfway done with our meals when he finally got his food delivered. I also ordered a cocktail, and my drink came out when I was halfway done with my food as well. Also, the brown rice seemed like it was undercooked. It could have used a few more minutes to be fully cooked, but my friends got the fried rice, and that looked much better. Overall, our experience was great. We did the unlimited bowls, and after we had our first bowls, we realized we could have just done the single bowl. You can fit a TON in a bowl if you play some good Tetris. We thought we'd want the salad/soup with it as well, and this is the reason I cannot give it five stars. When we went to the salad bar, it did not look super appetizing. The lettuce was all brown/discolored which turned most of us away. We decided to try the soups. The soups had great flavor, but they were only kind of warm. The grill cooking was awesome. We enjoyed chatting with the cooks. We have a couple allergies in our family including tree nuts and shellfish, and the cooks were very careful to clean the grill and block off other food. I appreciated the extra precaution and time they took to make sure our food was safe, and we were extremely thankful for that attention to detail. The flavors of the food were delicious! The teens in our group had fun experimenting with flavors which was a good reason to get the unlimited trips. They were able to try smaller portions with some different seasonings and sauces. Side note--fried rice is not included in your meal and was more than $6 as an add-on. My husband got that thinking it was included, and then said he would have been just fine with the noodles on the raw bar. White and brown rice is included if you want it. My husband went to use the restroom while there and said he has never seen a public restroom so dirty. I am hoping it got cleaned soon after. He of course didn't go back in to check. Unfortunately, what I don't like is the service when you order from the bar or the kitchen. We dined here today and haven't been in awhile. The create your own bowl cooked on the circular grill was amazing (probably cause you create your own!!) Delish. But we ordered Sri la from the bar and a kids meal of chicken tenders for my nephew. We had to remind several times about these orders and the kids meal finally came out after my brother and I were almost finished our bowls. If you're going for just bowls, you're fine. My family has been eating at BD Easton since it opened and have really enjoyed it. However, the last two times we have been there the food has not been satisfactory. We ate there today 3/18/26 and today as well as last time, our food tasted burnt. It was full of burned particles from off the grill, spoiling the taste. I had not been to BD Mongolian Grill in quite a while. I was happy to see that there was still plenty of choices available and the food was fresh and delicious! The server was a great help because I sort of needed a refresher course on how to make my food taste wonderful! After choosing the veggies and the meat and spices you head to the huge grill where they begin to cook your wonderful choices and spices to make your meal. We (my sister and I) had chosen so much stuff that our meals turned into being not only tasty but enough food for 2 meals! I'm always a fan of BD's as I like to get creative and eat a lot, so this place lets me do both. I always skip the noodles and get right to the meat and veggies, and they have lots of choices. I stuck mostly with chicken and shrimp but did have steak on one of my trips. I ordered the lettuce wraps instead of rice and told the waitress to keep the bowls coming! I prefer the Easton location to some of the others in Columbus. I got there early (around 5:30) as once it gets later, the lines tend to get long. I had free reign to add ingredients, get more sauce, grab the forgotten egg, etc. The guys on the grill were awesome. They really cared about making the experience wonderful. From spinning the swords to singing happy birthday, they made it fun. They also made suggestions for how they do their bowls which was helpful in trying some new stuff. It's worth it to give them a tip too! The waitress was also amazing and kept bringing me bowls and drinks and even gave me a drink to go! It was a great dinner and I try to stop by every time I visit Columbus. read more

Went to BD's for the first time last night with a group of friends and it was definitely interesting. I liked the idea of getting to pick your own meat, veggies and that they grill it up for you but it was hectic. They ran out of all the meats when I arrived and the buffet worker was just slinging the tubs everywhere and it was very unsettling and when you got to the sauce table it was a MESS. Stuff everywhere. I really enjoyed my food, it was good. The steak I got was cooked good and it came out very fast. My mixed drink was fantastic!! I also got a side of fried rice and it was $6 and for one bowl it is $15.75. The mixed drink I got was $6 each. It did not have prices on the drink menu. I enjoyed the experience and great time with friends, we sat right down and I can't complain about my food but I would say a few things could have been better. read more

This place was the dirtiest restaurant I've been to in a long time. The sauce bowls were brought out dirty and they were stuck together. We didn't see the waitress for almost 30 mins. I was given a gift card from BDs to visit again. After a completely horrible experience. So I came back and I am glad to say I am completely satisfied. We were seated immediately. The waitress was friendly. The food was prepared in a seafood safe way. No problems. The staff were happy and very helpful when I had a question. I did not go to the same location. My problem happened in Cleveland Ohio. The decor was much better in my opinion. See the many pics. Just FYI. If you don't like sugary drinks. Do NOT drink the Mango Lemonade. Way to much sugar. It's been a looooooooong time since eating at a BD's. Some 20-25 years ago, I use to meet friends at the downtown Nationwide Blvd. location all the time - back when BD's was hip and happenin, and way before the advent of Yelp. Family met for a movie and dinner for my sister's birthday, figured we'd give this place a long overdue retry. Happened to see I have a review for this location over 10 years ago, so figured I'd update. Prices have obviously gone up, since general costs due to inflation are up all round. The Crab Rangoon appetizer was not up to par, basically fried dough and cream cheese; I'd advise you pass. Still a good selection of proteins and veggies to pick from (I was craving veggies, thus is why I chose here). My bowl consisted of shrimp, a heap of veggies, and a mix of their Japanese teriyaki sauce and garlic water (lower sodium, healthier option). Instead of waiting for your food around the grill, you now drop off your bowl and sauce(s), and they bring it to your table when it's hot and ready. Our waiter was a nice gentleman, checked in a few times briefly but mostly left our party of five to chat and catch up which was perfect. I'm not much for chain restaurants (usually only if family insists), but the selection of fresh veggies and protein variety is what drew me, and I left with a full tummy and good vibes. read more

First time at this establishment, most likely the last. I understand the concept; however I was not a fan of this experience. If I want hibachi style food, I will go to a Hibachi grill. The fact that you have to pay extra for fried rice, is beyond me. The setting is casual, with COVID, they are taking necessary precautions. We got in line and was able to pick all available items, they use very small bowls, but the servers seem to have a difficult time fitting everything into the bowl. Personally, I could not get my sauce/seasoning's correct. The food was standard, the steak was tough and there was a small amount of pasta. Overall, I thought that the food was bland. Perhaps I'd try it once more to see if the results were repeatable, but this visit did not impress me. read more

They have so many different meat, vegetable, sauce, and seasoning options, and I always have enough food for lunch the next day! What a novel idea: a Chipotle-like build your own stir fry restaurant with limitless possibilities. While it doesn't need much explanation, you sit down, choose your meal and you are brought a bowl which you fill with raw ingredients. Then, you walk up to a number on the grill counter, have your food cooked on a community grill, and proceed to sit and eat. Great in theory - horrible in reality. 1) Serving size varies heavily on how willing you are to push the limits of ridiculousness. A $15 bowl could mean a modest portion of noodles and egg or a heaping bowl of protein that is overloaded and spilling over the edges. There is no regulation to how high you can pile your bowl, and the guests next to me somehow stockpiled theirs about 3-4 times higher than the lip of the bowl. It could have won a contest. 2) Raw ingredients are not appetizing. Scooping raw chicken next to veggies and seeing ingredients mixed from sloppy customers is annoying. The process should at LEAST be handled by an employee, which would solve both the portioning and mixing issue. Have a dietary restriction on shellfish or a serious gluten allergy? Stay away! 3) The grill was disgusting. While the showmanship of hibachi-sytle grilling is part of the "novelty" of eating here, it was one of the worst parts of the experience. Seeing how disgusting the grill, floor and surrounding area is was not appetizing. Add to this that the wait was fairly long (10-15 minutes of standing without a chair) ...and it is not pleasant. Furthermore no attention is paid to food mixing, and I had pieces of stir fry that I never ordered in my dish by the end. 4) Clientele. I came around 4PM on a Monday and the other guests were seedy to say the least. This could be a coincidence but those overloading their plate in front of me looked like they were just released from prison (face tattoos and all). Sure, this is possible anywhere, but I wonder if the easily-abused setup for unrestricted food portioning attracts a certain demographic. I know how fun this experience sounds in theory, but I would warn anyone with food allergies, issues standing or just cleanliness standards to steer clear of this Mongolian misadventure. read more

Overall: One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant... I'm currently sitting at a different Mongolian BBQ writing this and, so far, 5 mins into this new place has already been 1000 times better than what I experienced for 1 hour at the Easton Mall location early this week. If you want a better experience at Mongos, go to the Columbus downtown location. My reviews usually rate the customers service, food and atmosphere but each were pretty abysmal. The only saving grace of this place is the inclusivity and diversity of staff. Read below for the cliff notes experience...because honestly I'd rather use my energy to leave a positive review at the Columbus downtown location. -To me, it's seemed like whoever was in charge was not with it. Nothing was clean, staff seemed overworked and we waited 10-15 mins to even get clean bowls after being seated. -The waitress...ugh. I feel for her, I do, but every single time she came to our table she had to apologize for something. First it was no bowls were ready, then it was that the salad bar needed refreshing, then she forgot napkins, forgot cutlery, forgot to give us tortillas and then said they were out of white rice and it would be a few minutes but could give us brown rice...it was so bad that near the end she knew is was bad and offered to get the manager for us to talk to that person. (Note, she didn't actually do that, she just said she would) She did offer us a plate to get salad until the bowls were clean. We accepted because we were really hungry. When we finally got a bowl to get the meal and came back to our table while it was being cooked, both my and my dinner guest's forks were together in a lazily rolled up napkin. Two used forks...together. -Mess. The food bar, the salad bar. Complete mess. Half of the meats and veggies were out and what was left was mixed and tossed into each other's containers. I haven't seen something so mixed since my ancestry DNA results. The sauces. If I created a TikTok showing the sauces, I would have used the sound "Splish Splash I was taking a bath". I'm sure you get what I mean. Only filled my bowl halfway because I didn't feel comfortable grabbing some of the mixed product. -I asked for the check as soon we could and we bolted to the nearest Wendy's. We literally fasted all day hoping to get a better experience and eat more, but no I felt like if we kept going, we were going to be the next patient zero in creating a new COVID strain. ‍ This experience is 100% on management. That's the only explanation that makes sense. I hope y'all just had an off day. The Person I'm with is from out of state and was wanting a unique dining experience with Mongolian BBQ.
