Glenn responded to me quickly and said that although they were done for the day, one of his electricians, Bryan lived near me and said he could swing by to take a look. Bryan identified the problem quickly, (a bad main breaker), then he and Glenn coordinated with SDG & E to get the power turned off to the house so Bryan could make the necessary repair. Unfortunately it took SDG & E almost 2 hours to show up, (and by now it was after 7:00 pm), Bryan came back to finish the job. It is rare for a company to go the extra mile but Glenn and Bryan did just that, If you have the need for a courteous, professional electrician who really cares about customer service, I can't recommend MacGray highly enough.

After talking to three electricians, I chose Bill Young, and wow it was the right choice…read more First, if you are a perfectionist and detail-oriented, like I am, you will be very happy. We had Bill install 10 LARGE outdoor lights, two outdoor fans, new outdoor outlets, and then decided to have him hang out heavy outdoor daybed swing (this guy has many skills). He made new holes in the back of our lights so that they would hang at the height we wanted! And he screwed them into our brick without issue and while leaving a tiny footprint in case we ever want to swap for something else in the future. When Bill hung our swing outside and it was immediately level on first try (he got into the attic to put in extra reinforcements so that it would never fall), I was extra impressed. Basically if you want THE BEST electrical work, look no further. You may find quotes lower in price but if you want top quality without shortcuts, you cannot go wrong. We tracked down the artist, flew back to New Orleans and drove the lights back to San Diego over four days to avoid breakage. That was the easy part. Finding good electricians to handle the hanging of what looks like an art installation of three jellyfish was a nightmare. We have double height ceilings in the living room. At least three electricians came over for quotes. The first agreed to handle and then doubled his initial estimate after leaving. The second declined because he worried about breakage. Easily another five reached by phone worried about logistics (they said we needed to hire a scaffolding company too) and liability of breakage. Sel Electric came in, a father and son team, and were the only ones to go into the attic crawl space to figure out the logistics of how to hang the three lights. They figured out how to hang them without scaffolding and exuded confidence of being able to do the job well. It took just over a day to complete the project and plus they fixed our door bell that had been broken for months. Another electrician tried to fix it, fiddled with it for an hour, gave up and then ghosted me. Hire Sel Electric if you want a job done well, efficiently and for a fair price. They even offered suggestions on how to hang the jellyfish lamps, which look beautiful, day and night.
