I used Tomer and BBurn Builders to remodel my condo's primary bathroom eight months ago, and recently had them redo my guest bathroom, updating both bathrooms from 1999 to 2022. Communication is key and they do not disappoint in that regard. Tomer and his team were always very responsive throughout both projects and flexible on scheduling with timely results. My fiancé and I hired Tomer to do a full gut renovation on our half bath, retile two fireplaces and our entryway, put a new tub in our master bath, add recessed lighting and replace a few fixtures, take out a closet in our basement, and paint our entire house. Everything they did, especially the tile, was quality work. Besides the painting. Prior to painting, we had our AV guys come out and do some rewiring through the walls. This required them to make cuts in the wall. Tomer quoted us $2,100 to patch the holes that they had cut. My fiancé and I told him that we did not want him to move forward with the patching as we could get it done MUCH cheaper elsewhere, closer to $300. Apparently, there was some disconnect as when I next arrived at the house, I noticed that a good amount of the holes were already patched. I spoke with Tomer and asked him why they patched without us giving our approval. We had said in writing that we did not agree to his pricing, and we would handle ourselves. He responded that his guys had already started the work without first getting our approval, but that we would not be charged for any work they did without our approval. He said his guys told him it was just a few holes, so it wasn't a big deal. I told him that was not true - they had, in fact, patched quite a few holes - and that he needed to check with them again. A couple weeks later, after we had the remaining holes patched, Tomer called. He said that he was wrong and that his guys did patch a good amount of the holes, which is what I had said originally. He then proceeded to tell me that he lost a lot of money from this and that he never had a client pull him off the job and hire someone else before. Since his group was still doing work elsewhere around the house, I decided it would be best to throw him a bone and give him money for the holes he patched, even though he straight up told me that it would be coming out of his guys' paychecks, and that we would not be charged for work done to our home without our approval. You can make of this what you want. They then proceeded to paint. The previous homeowners had light blue walls throughout the house. When we came to inspect the paint after the project was "complete", we noticed that there were spots of blue throughout the house. Entire patches had just simply not been painted with the White Dove paint we had ordered. On further inspection, there were streaks on the ceiling, cracked paint around the fixtures and vents where there had never been before, blemishes showing in numerous places, and paint on the hardware. In the basement where we used a gray paint, the sloppiness was even more apparent. A ceiling in one of the basement rooms also had not been painted at all. We had done paint samples on a few walls when picking out colors, and they hadn't spackled/smoothed over any of the rough samples - they had simply just painted over them so that the wall was textured (!), with different colors of the paint samples coming through. It was simply just hideous. Since we were in such disbelief, we decided to call a third party painter to walk through our house to tell us what they thought without giving him any indication that we were displeased with the job. He told us that there was no chance that a second coat was done (we paid for two) and that in his professional opinion, it was "embarrassing" for what we paid. Knowing that our doubts were confirmed, we spoke with Tomer and he proceeded to tell us that it was definitely painted twice (it wasn't), that any concerns were because of "bad lighting", and that he would be by to walk through the house with us. We made it clear that we wanted to walk through with Tomer, not one of his employees, but he didn't show up. My fiancé called him to see what the deal was, and Tomer said that the whole house was getting ready to be repainted and that our new hardwood floors should be covered right at that moment for painting to begin. This was funny, as we were standing on the hardwood floors at that moment when he was so confidently saying the house was prepped and ready to go. No one had come to prep our house to be repainted. Instead, he had one of his guys walk through with us and touch up the areas we pointed out. It seems to be a reoccurring theme with Tomer that he will send his workers to deal with issues that he should be handling himself. Throughout all of this ordeal, Tomer told us that he had been working with his painter forever and that he didn't understand how this could be happening. He agreed that they would fix the issues and they did, for the most part. To this day, we are still noticing issues with the paint that we simply missed because there were so many, and we had been told the house itself would be repainted another coat, not just touched up here and there. This was our second project working with Tomer and his team. They had previously rehabbed our primary bathroom at our old condo and did a great job! This time, they rehabbed two full bathrooms, installed wood floors, and refinished them. Tomer was responsive from the start and was easy to schedule on our ideal timeline. With both projects, finishing the little details at the end and putting the rooms back together always seemed to take a bit longer than expected (likely because they were starting new projects at that point).
