Everybody has their favorite little spot that they go to. You know that place where they have your favorite dish they have your favorite vibe. They have your favorite music. They have your favorite people. BB's is all of that for me. While their menu flexes and goes through changes, there are certain consistencies that they have that will always keep me coming back. They have a fried catfish crawfish, étouffée, and pot roast with debris gravy. Almost everything taste like it came out of my grandmother's kitchen. And their bar is the bomb too. Every BB's has a French Quarter Mardi Gras vibe. And then always brings back good memories for me. On this visit, I got fried pickles, pollo bullets, red beans and rice, étouffée, andouille sausage, and a fried catfish fillet. My son got a fried oyster Poboy and a side of Chaumette mac & cheese. I was so happy to be in Houston eating some of my favorite food. If you're ever in the Bayou City and want to give this local chain a try, I highly recommend their happy hour. It's a great opportunity to get a sampling of what this restaurant offers for a great price. You can never go wrong at BB's. The food always comes out consistent and good. On this visit we had Neecee taking care of us. She got all of our order correct and to make sure we got our order faster teamwork made the dream work. Everyone was stopping by and checking on our table. It was phenomenal. I sure do love the hospitality of this restaurant.

I went there the other night after leaving the Katt Williams show. I understood it was busy since it's spring break in Houston and people were out eating late, so I was prepared for a wait. We were told it would be a 25 to 30 minute wait for a table for 2. However, my friend walked around the corner and saw 2 open tables near the bar. When he mentioned it to the hostess, she seemed surprised and then said they would clean them off for us. It didn't seem like anyone had even checked. Once seated, the service was extremely slow. It took about 30 minutes just for my friend to receive a beer. When it finally arrived, it was warm. He went back up to ask if they had any colder beer and they didn't but topped off his drink. I ordered a margarita and that also took about 20 to 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the shrimp basket with debris fries and a side of catfish. I even asked if the catfish was real catfish since some places serve swai and call it catfish. The food took a long time to come out, although it was at least hot when it arrived. By that point I honestly wasn't even hungry anymore. Unfortunately, my order was also wrong. The debris, which is supposed to be brisket, cheese, and gravy on the fries, wasn't on there, so I had to send it back and waited another 10 minutes. When the food came back out correctly, the catfish portion was extremely small and thin and honestly looked like swai. I took a few bites and thought the food itself tasted fine, so I was originally considering giving them 2 or 3 stars despite the service. However, the next day when I reheated the leftovers, I pulled the tail off and noticed the shrimp had not been deveined. It still had the digestive tract intact. I cook all the time. That is basic seafood preparation and was extremely unappetizing. I checked the rest of the shrimp and ALL of them still had the intestines and mess in them. At that point I just threw the food away. Between the extremely slow service, incorrect order, warm beer, and seafood that clearly wasn't cleaned properly, I will not be going back. What a waste of money.

At this point I'm a regular at this location!! Has been very consistent all crawfish season and Daylan our server is always so fun and pleasant!! The crawfish and the pineapple sausage are undefeated!! The empanadas are also a must have!! The ambiance is nice and friendly, the patio is my favorite

Why has taken me this long to finally get to BB's Tex-Orleans I will never know. From start to finish I enjoyed myself. Located on Westheimer this spot has a good amount of parking, but finding a spot can get a little challenging on weeknights and weekends when things are hopping, because it shares space with places like Bun Slut and is an alternative parking option for folks going to Chopnblok. Thankfully there is street parking around. When you go in there is seating for parties of 4 or more inside, including a bar area with limited seating. They also have a patio area with ample seating, especially for smaller parties of people. The atmosphere is casual with a kiss of elegance (I spotted chandeliers hanging from the ceiling - nice touch!). I was greeted nicely coming in. I decided to eat outside in the patio area. My server Rie (Rye), who's also a fellow Ohioan/transplant to Houston like myself, was so pleasant and took great care of me! Thanks for everything, Rie (Rye), great to meet you! OH-IO! Nonetheless, let's talk about the food. They started me with a complimentary basket of chips served with this delicious red bean salsa, omg, so good! Since I was new here, I went with something that was familiar, the Shrimp and Grits. For my side, I chose Elote. All of it made my tastebuds dance! It was all so flavorful! The cheddar grits was perfection, the shrimp were a nice size, plump and tasty. I loved it all! I went with their Paradise Playa Cocktail that was bright, beautiful and refreshing! To say I will be back is an understatement. I can't wait to try other things on the menu, including their Crawfish Boils, and frozen drinks, etc! They have lots of delicious eats to choose from. My mouth is watering already. Definitely check it out for yourself! Enjoy! You're welcome.

Crawfish was AMAZING! As big as mini lobsters!! The flavor was spicy and soooo fresh! Service was good, she was very attentive. It wasn't too busy when we went around 2 pm on a Thursday but super cute and Louisiana style.

this is supposed to be the five for $30, but it's 3 pounds at best

I love BBs but the waterman special disappointed. It was overly salty, my egg and sausage were so tough and overcooked I couldn't eat them. But the service was spectacular with the complimentary washing bowls after we ate. It's a clean location and one of my favorites for crawfish season.

This is my first visit since the location changed. I arrived with 2 friends around 11:15pm. There was a sign to seat yourself. It took a while for someone to come, but once Clarence came things were off to a good start. It was warm inside the restaurant but you definitely get a New Orleans vibe. The pollo bullets were cooked really well. It's a nice and tasty appetizer to start with. Unfortunately, I had to eat it with my hands because I didn't receive any silverware. The crawfish étouffée on the French quarter plate was of poor quality. The rice was really mushy and it didn't taste fresh. I only ate the andouille sausage because I was afraid that everything else on the plate would make me sick. Maybe it was too late to order that kind of food. I should have ordered the fried seafood as I have done in the past with no issues.

Came on Wednesday 5/7 at 11:00p or so, serviced by a very friendly/helpful and funny guy! He had a New Orleans sounding accent but I remember he said he wasn't from there. He was awesome! All the food was good, no one had any complaints!!! Would recommend and will be returning when I am back in houston! Literally can't wait!!

Great food and service. Pretty pricey, but I found the portions generous and the overall value for the price paid more than fair; Had a ton of food leftover which was a huge plus. However, I did not understand why a single boiled egg goes for $2.99. Would definitely revisit for this location for the seafood nonetheless.

The team behind the popular restaurant Nobie's opened up this tiki inspired restaurant. Tiki bars happen to be one of my favorite varieties of bars so I was more than excited to finally check it off my list. I had recently seen them on the Food Network as well. They share a lot with another popular dining spot so parking can be a little difficult in their lot. You can find street parking or park across the street in an overflow lot. Customer service was great from start to finish. We had just ate next door and our intentions were to come in here just for cocktails, but I couldn't leave without trying some of the popular items. I wanted the most tropical drink I could find on the menu so I started off with the Blue Hawaiian. I saw fire on the description so my extra self needed to have it. I'm a big rum guy so this drink was right up my alley and very boozy with two types of rum. It was very coconut forward with pineapple being the secondary flavor. One was enough for me to feel just right. Since we had just ate, we decided to share the World Famous Cheeseburger. This was a great burger. I don't know if they were going for the smash effect, but it had smash burger characteristics. It had all my favorite things that are musts on a burger like American cheese and red onions. It also had a very nice chili aioli that added great flavor to the burger. I came on another stop for a drink visit shortly after and tried the pork dumplings and popcorn chicken. These were also very good. If I lived in the area, this place would easily be a place I would frequent often. I will most definitely be back!

We get dressed up and venture to Le Jardinier. While we were super excited and ready for a great Friday evening, we checked in with an unwelcoming hostess. Mind you, this is our first impression since we have never been to any of the locations. He asked the hostess if we would be seated close or after our reservation time (that would determine if we would have a drink at the bar), we received a condescending toned response of "you can have a seat and I will work on getting a status update on that." Duly noted. A few minutes later we were told we could go to the bar to only then be escorted to the table. So we will look past that "weirdness" of initial service and get ready for a stiff drink...the bartenders know what they are doing! Martinis were the name of the game and they were perfect. Just perfect. The prefixe and wine pairing was the game plan. But before the fun stuff, came the bread service. Bread was more than bread, it was warm savory pillows with the perfect butter. Made a crumbly mess while tearing up the bread basket, expected table crumbler service, after, nothing. For Michelin, we expected the fine dining cleaning in between each course. The service was odd, and the servers seemed cold. The kanpachi and the scallop of the prefixe were Michelin. Overall, we might give it another shot, maybe it was a bad day...but still grateful to get in last minute due to rodeo season. Let me know your experience!

The hostess gave us a couple options--either wait, sit in a more busy/noisy area, or go to what they call "the library," which is quieter and more intimate. We chose the library and I'm glad we did. It felt a lot more relaxed and away from all the noise. The place itself is really nice--very chic, good vibes. The bar area was pretty packed and the crowd was super diverse, which I liked. We ordered the crispy squid (calamari) to start--I'd give it like an 8/10. Flavor was good, just not as crispy as I expected. One of the hostesses actually came by and gave us complimentary Prosecco, which was a really nice touch. For mains, I got the 12 oz ribeye (asked for medium rare) with shrimp scampi--I'd say 7/10. Good portion, good flavor. My husband got the cowboy steak (medium), and we shared the gratin potatoes and creamy spinach. Both sides were also around a 7/10--solid, good portions, well-seasoned. The only thing was I think our steaks' doneness might've been switched. Mine came out medium and his was more medium rare. We told our server and we just ate it anyway, it was still good. We ended with crème brûlée--probably a 6/10 for me. It wasn't as smooth and velvety as I usually like, but still decent. Overall, I'd give the experience an 8/10. We enjoyed our time and I'd come back to try other things.

For happy hour, we ordered several appetizers to share between the three of us: shrimp, Brussels sprouts, and truffle fries -- all were SO good. Later, we ordered two steaks with fries, which were amazing and came with a buttery sauce that really took them to the next level. I also ordered the lemon pepper buffalo wings, and those were absolutely delicious as well. The service was great, especially considering there were only about two or three people working. Everyone was attentive and friendly. If you're a wine lover, you'll enjoy the wine selection. I'm a big Pinot Noir fan, and while there was only one Pinot option, I loved it so much that I kept going back to it. The wine tasting option made it easy to try a few others before deciding. Prices were very reasonable -- not overpriced at all -- especially for the quality of the food and experience. We didn't make reservations and were able to walk right in, though I'd recommend reservations if you're going later in the evening since it does get packed. Roots is located right across from some apartments in the EADO area and made for the perfect girls' night out. Great food, great service, great vibes. I would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be back!
