The food did not meet 5 stars. The table ordered crab cakes, crab hushpuppies and Rockefeller oysters. All were good but nothing more than 4 stars. Not quite hot enough and lacked flavor. I also ordered a chambong which was good but was not the same as I had at Shoreline in early December. In early December, the caviar included a spoon of crème freshe; however, last night was a wilted spoon of greens at best. Will I return? Yes, absolutely. I will write off last night as a slow night given it was a Tuesday evening. I wish Lawren all the best as she was a very personable server and was well prepared to get any questions answered.

I got the crab cakes that are on the small plate menu. They were not large and over breaded. They had a lot of crab meat and the sauce that came with the fennel salad on top was very good. I paid over $18 for a Shish Kafta sandwich that was basically all bread and garnish. I'm not exaggerating--there was barely a morsel of meat in every bite. It felt like a total rip-off!!! As someone who has worked in Middle Eastern kitchens for years, this was a massive letdown. Red flags from the start: the waitress claimed Shish Taouk (tawook) is the "fastest" item (proper chicken takes time!), and the cook wasn't even middle eastern and clearly had no idea what he was doing. The Tabbouli arrived dry and unseasoned, no lemon juice or even wedges??? I ordered the Shish Kafta ($18+), and it was an embarrassment. There was so little meat it was practically a salad wrap. When you pay nearly $20 for a sandwich, you expect a proper protein portion, not a "hint" of Kafta. No lemon, no napkins, no utensils, no attention to detail. This place relies on the name of the food without understanding the food combining principles of the recipe. Check your bag before you leave, or better yet, go elsewhere. The only thing that seemed authentic about this place is that the owner is arabic.
