This is definitely not a place for food. It appears, instead, to be a good place for camaraderie, sports-viewing, and loud music. We ordered chicken quesadillas, and the chicken was inedible. The boom-boom shrimp was pretty good, but nothing special. But they want to encourage drinking alcohol, and charge WAY too much for a diet coke. Have to admit that having to share a table with some nice people was great until one of the "locals" (who was, ahem, clearly "overserved") barged in, and then grabbed some of our food. Since he was (at best) inarticulate, we let it go and quickly made our own exit. But, that definitely colored our evening. Willing to give it another try, but not for a while. (And I hope this bar offers some kind of driving service to accommodate people like our unwelcome "guest" --- he would be a menace on the road. ) read more

My friends and I were looking for a low key dive bar and this place totally fit the bill! First of all, our server, TJ, was amazing. He was pleasant, patient, and super accommodating. The vibe here is awesome. It's a great local spot with live music and a chill atmosphere. We were all pleasantly surprised by the food. I don't have a high bar of expectation for dive bar food, but the burgers and chicken tenders were large and tasty. I highly recommend hitting up this local spot. I don't live in the area, but we're in town on a fairly consistent basis (every four to six weeks) and have dropped by Key West Bar a handful of times now. This is a dive bar as advertised, so don't expect anything fancy, but the prices are fantastic (coming from someone who lives in Tampa and someone who visits the "real" Key West pretty regularly where prices are semi-outrageous.) Haven't yet tried the food but we've seen other people eating and it looks fine. Drop by if you have the chance! Employees are always attentive and nice. Prices are beyond fair. Other patrons are nice also which is a big deal if you're an "outsider." (Some places just have those customers who act weird towards the non-locals.) read more

People who've been coming here since whenever- 30 years or first time (like me) - you all are treated with respect and given great service. I've loved having a drink here whenever I'm in the area. It's a chill relaxed bar, and everyone is nice Florida people. But my relaxed welcoming image of this bar was shattered recently. Over the past weekend there was a peaceful Black Lives Matter march. The bar used this as an opportunity to be a headquarters for people who were against the peaceful march. People were gathered outside the bar yelling at the marchers, and there was a huge Trump flag affixed to the bar. My personal politics are irrelevant in this. But a business taking such a strong position against a peaceful protest is really alienating. And I don't think I can go back to this bar after seeing the mean spirited people I saw gathered outside of it. It's disappointing read more

There's good news and bad news. The bad news is, this place is a dive, the good news is, this place is a dive. Use the side entrance because front door is broke. With that being said, food and service was fantastic. I would recommend the Philly cheese steak. Bar was clean and Katy is great. Will definitely return on our next trip down. read more

Classic dive bar that feels like your most comfortable old jeans. If you prefer khaki Dockers, you'll still be welcomed, but it may not be your scene. Can also roll on by if you're looking for a cold press espresso mochatini. But if you want cold beer at great prices, make a U turn if necessary to roll on in. We were glad we did. read more

Full disclosure, it's my local and I am a regular. That being said, since the new ownership took over the place has gotten even better. The upgrades to the bathrooms alone are super cool. The back patio area has been cleaned up and a new fence that makes it far more inviting! The service is always above par, accommodating, and responsive. The music on the weekends is what you would expect in a local bar, nothing fancy but usually pretty decent. Check this place out some time! read more

Danny also hosts "Dawn Patrol" on WFIT, 89.5 FM, Saturday mornings 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM in case you haven't made it to bed yet. The other day I saw breakfast advertised on weekend mornings. That intrigued me enough to stop in to try breakfast out. The one star reflects how long I stayed here for breakfast rather than the food. I did not even sit down so obviously I did not try breakfast here. You see I have this thing about loud TVs in pubs and restaurants. That's just me, OK? and I do realize that others tolerate, ignore, tune out or even enjoy the intrusion. But I do not. Call me a TV snob, whatever. I am not actually, I just do not want a TV on while I am doing stuff like reading, eating (especially breakfast), drinking, bicycling or jogging along the sea. You get the picture. The Keywest Bar is small-ish but not lacking for TVs. They were everywhere I looked. Even looking at a TV dead on I could see one or two others in my peripheral vision. Seriously, that's a lot of television. Maybe the food is excellent? If you don't mind TVs please try breakfast here and let me know.
