Another example of someone who thought the portions were very small..
    Tom S.

Very small portions of food. The beer battered fish & chips, the shepherd's pie, the pot roast dinner, all small portions of the full size version. I'm not talking about their half portion version. What we noticed was that no one leaves the restaurant with a take-home box. There wasn't one person while we were out in our car. After we left we watch people come out and no one had a little box or a bag. The cheap owner with his small abortions doesn't even have to buy takeout boxes because you leave there hungry.

Shepherd's Pie and a French Dip! And a great Irish band

I will say that when we arrived to the parking lot I was skeptical, but as soon as we were through the door all of that melted away! The ambiance is top tier. I especially love how there are tables in nooks that feel like their own spaces, giving genuine "public house" vibes. IYKYK We were greeted, initially, by music from a spritely Irish band playing Irish and Scottish folk music and covers. A few moments later we were greeted and seated by the bartender and server who were super attentive in all the right ways. This can be challenging on a music night but they obviously know how to make people feel welcome! I had a french dip and my partner got the Shepherd's Pie. Both were fantastic! Parking in the lot out front was ample and the place is very family friendly. I heartily recommend checking out Nolan's Irish Pub! I'm told Thursdays are live music night and I'd also recommend hitting that if you can! Cheers!

Great Irish pub with a traditional menu and burgers. Quick service. I ordered their signature burger so I could taste Ballymaloe relish. Not a fan and the burger was dry. But I love being surrounded by the Irish decor. Great selection of Irish whiskeys, I've never heard of half of them. But I'm a Guinness drinker and they pour a fair pint.

Friendly service from bartender. Nice selection of beers. Fries & coleslaw were tasty. Fish cooked nice & crispy. Plenty of bar seating & tables. Music was enjoyable.

Great Irish bar! Killer ambience. They have a lot of autographed astronauts' pictures and mission patches. The whiskey flights are a fun way to sample some interesting Irish whiskeys outside of the usual suspects. Speaking of flights, a rocket took off over at the Space Force base. It's that common that no one blinked much after a pause. Like earthquakes, for locals, in the West. Added to the experience! The food is very good, not amazing. Still, for this area, full of two stars grifting off of the cruise ship industry, at the port, it's a five star. Service was genuinely five star. The servers are young, but well trained to keep the vibe top notch. Parking is tricky but doable.

    Good times as always

The fried fish was some of the best I've ever had. 1/2 pound portions. It was so good I ordered a second piece of fish.

What a fun place. The food looked great and they pour a proper pint of Guinness! Trivia Night on Tuesday was a blast.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Apparently, the Yelp Skynet a.k.a. the AI that green or red flags reviews, doesn't like the actual name of this pub despite the fact it is the pub's name. Ergo, I will use the abbreviation VI for the remainder of this review. Besides that, you really can't go wrong going to any of the pubs in Historic Cocoa Village. VI is one of the pubs on the eastern side of the Village, in between the famous Fat Donkey's Ice Cream and the furthest east pub in the village, Ryan's. Appearance-wise, the outside fits primarily with the building, but there are some minute details that give it its own personality, primarily around its name. There is also a section of the road and sidewalk that have been garrisoned for VI as outdoor seating and games such as bean bag toss. Indoors, it is definitely your kinda pub that many of the patrons are friends. The right side (East) have long tables with many pub and drinking games such as Hook & Ring and Shut The Box. There is a bookshelf filled to the brim with board games in case patrons prefer traditional or childhood classics. The left side (West) is the "Patio," a room that is decorated by numerous plants, neon lighting, widker and a black-and-white checkerboard floor. Finally, the middle of the pub is the actual bar, in the form of an L-shape serving a nice arrangement of beers from many breweries, cideries, distilleries, and meaderies across the United States. I had the Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale by Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. Other beer selections I would recommend include the Pineapple Cider by the famous Carib Brewing Co. and the Mango Cart by Golden Road Brewing. Personal note on the latter: Mango Carts, well for me, only taste good when straight from the tap. Cans are not good. And the food, it is minimal, but boy does VI know how to tug at my heartstrings as everything they have features, or could feature, cheese. They have pretzels with cheese, pickles with cheese, and my personal favorite, grilled cheese sandwiches. And for the more sophisticated patron, they have numerous choices in charcuterie boards, too. I will also state the drink prices are a bit on the high side compared to some other places I been to. And there are two restrooms that are single-serving and gender-specific. I don't believe the latter has to be gender-specific because they are single-serving. The barn doors are an interesting choice because they are not very good at blocking sound. I guess that is why VI blasts the music so nobody can hear the flatulence. Speaking of music, VI does have a small corner stage for small acts, possibly singular, to perform. Unless there is a pull-out large stage for outdoor performances, I don't see big bands, per se in higher number of members, performing here unless they can all jam in that tight-spaced stage. Ultimately, I am going to give VI three-out-of-five stars for this review. They are a solid pub that has all the fixin's of a good bar to go to. Maybe it is safe to say they really don't stand out too much, especially amongst the more unique bars in Historic Cocoa Village. But still, a good place to have a drink with friends with that "Everybody knows your name" kinda vibe.

It is always a rare find for myself to find a nonalcoholic red wine so I was very pleased and enjoyed it greatly. There was a live band and karaoke going on. There were board games available to play. Indoor and outdoor seating was available and free street parking. Restrooms were located in the back of the bar. The service was good, everyone was friendly with good vibes.

Amazing experience and absolutely fantastic food!…read more The service was wonderful from beginning to end. We had family visiting from out of town who were craving sushi, and we immediately knew exactly where to take them. If you're trying to impress guests, or trying to convince them to move here, this is the spot!! The seafood is next level. We started with one of our favorites, the rock shrimp toast along with something new, gambas al Japan (aka DELICIOUS shrimp)! For my dish, I ordered the American roll and it was phenomenal, I will 100% order again! My brother-in-law ordered a bluefin tasting along with the smoked hamachi, and it was nearly impossible to pick a favorite. My sister-in-law got the curry, and the sauce was so good it was practically drinkable. My husband stuck with his usual, the wagyu steak sandwich, which never disappoints. You truly can't go wrong with that dish. We finished with the oolong tea crème brûlée, which was incredible, and the oolong jam was such a unique and delicious surprise. We sat at the bar and had the chance to learn more about Daniel's cuisines, he is so knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly passionate about what he does. His creative take on each dish makes the entire dining experience unforgettable. We're already looking forward to coming back!!

I went with a friend to Coaster's Cocoa Beach. Happy Saint Patrick's day!…read moreThey were very busy. They were serving a limited menu with food and drink specials for the day. They had the traditional Irish fare. My friend ordered the Ruben sandwich with sweet potato fries. She commented on how much corned beef in the Sandwich and how delicious the fries were. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage. Only $20.00. I received at least a half pound of very lean corned beef, red potatoes, carrots and steamed cabbage. A very generous serving. The corned beef was really lean , moist, tender, and very flavorful. What a great meal. They had traditional Irish music. Great atmosphere for the holiday. We had a great time.

Man I really wanted to like this place but I just couldn't!!…read more It is a really mundane place over all. The ambiance is that of every other bar, which in itself isn't bad but it is when you don't do anything to really stand out. I ordered the southern burger and their special of deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were really good but only 6 half eggs was $12. Way overpriced in my opinion. The burger looked really good but for $22 for the burger and the fries, it better be top notch. Burger came out over done, with the entire bottom bun completely soaked in juice. It basically fell apart by the end of the meal. I will say the fries were really good but for $45 with a tip FOR ONE PERSON this place is way over priced for what you get. I also thought my service was just okay as well. Wouldn't recommend this place and won't be back.
