I got the chipped que and the Bride got the chopped. She thought the chopped wasn't as good as my chipped. She also thought the potato salad was made there.

Pilot Plate. $7.50

Hole in the wall joint that serves good BBQ. Price point - Check I got the Pilot plate, $7.50, which comes with chopped BBQ pork, baked beans and your choice of cole slaw or potato salad, and a 16 Oz Tea. You can sub out items if you do not desire what is offered. The pulled pork was delicious and I also enjoyed the baked beans. Sometimes a lot of these BBQ places like to throw a can of Bush's baked beans and call it a day. If they did that, no worries, at least this establishment doctored them up so I couldn't taste the original Bush flavor. For the price, this dish can't be beat. I would recommend you try this place out; especially if you are near Ft. Mitchell or on the state line between Alabama and Georgia.

Southern bbq at your fingertips. This is a great hole in the wall bbq spot in Alabama really close to fort Benning's back gate. They offer an old school home style cuisine and traditional Souther bbq with a load of different sides to choose from. What I got: the Ranger Combo. It had brisket and ribs with my choice of two sides. He macaroni and cheese was rich and really tasty. The ribs were fall of the bone good. Overall, it was good go to place for bbq and I'll be back

Pilot Plate with no bread plus potato salad and coleslaw

My husband had us stop in and grab a to go order because he remembered stopping in during his many trips to Benning. He remembered it being really good. Unfortunately it did not live up to his memories and he was left disappointed. I had the pilot plate and the pork was ok, nothing special and drenched in sauce. The sauce had a bit of a mustard taste to it. I'm not a fan of BBQ places drenching their meat in sauce. I want to taste the meat and this sauce overwhelmed it, you need the right balance. Getting to the sides the potato salad was meh, it could have actually used more "dressing". The coleslaw intrigued me because it had dill but unfortunately it was loaded with onions it should have been called onion slaw and lacked any other flavor. We have no desire to head back to this little hole in the wall bbq joint.

Stryker Dog

Excellent BBQ and awesome service. The owner walked around and greeted my coworkers and myself. He said the BBQ is smoked for ten hours and it sure tasted like it was. I got the Stryker Dog and it was definitely filling. It was like an open-faced sandwich but with hot dogs, pulled-pork, chili, and other toppings. Also highly recommend the mac n cheese. Could see the casserole dish in the kitchen which means every batch is made from scratch.

The service was not there for me. Also, at that time, they only had mustard based bar be que sauce. Only been there once.

Best BBQ around! I haven't had a single thing there that I don't like. I've been told these are all old, family recipes.

I've had a lot of things thrown into tortillas…read more In fact, I've been on somewhat of a journey to find the best fajitas; that journey has now come to an end with my takeout order of skirt steak fajitas from Bow & Arrow in Auburn, AL. Ah-Maz-Ing! The homemade tortillas were fluffy but not too fluffy, the steak was so tender, I mean, even if you have dentures, this is safe ground to slap them jowls. I don't plan to need a "last meal," but if I did, this would be it. The rice, beans, and that butter are all 10/10.

It's been years since I tried out Bow and Arrow (2021), so I was excited to get back to AU and…read morevisit again. The hostess quoted us a 40-45min wait, but we were pleasantly surprised it was only about half that. The space was insanely warm-- got it, it's winter and it's cold/rainy, but we were sweating and our baby's cheeks were turning pink. Our waiter made the experience less than ideal. He definitely didn't want to be there and his performance showed that. He was no help when we asked about menu items-- we got nothing more than a shrug and a mumbled 'I don't know'. He was slow to do anything and our beer was barely cold when it made it to the table after letting it sit at the bar for too long. We waited for 40min for our dinner. Even a Friday night in a busy college town shouldn't equal that. Food was good when we finally got it. Not worth the long wait, but decent. Disappointing visit...but, I'll probably go back when it's hopefully less busy and attempt a better experience.

Hog Daddy’s BBQ - 3 pork sandwiches

Hog Daddy’s BBQ

Took the family to a water park in LaGrange and was desperately seeking real food…read more Now I am from GA and love BBQ. I do a bit of my own as any true Georgian does. And my BBQ is pretty darn good. When it comes to eating out I have a rule that the place has to make something or do it in a way that is either cheaper than I can do or make better than I can make it. Hog Daddy's nails both of those points. My kids are quite picky eaters. They tend to gravitate to the typical 6-year-old habits of chicken strips and other fried foods. My girls were not pleased that I chose Hod Daddy's at first. Then they tried it and asked me to go back the next day and get more. The girls loved the pulled pork sandwich which they said "needed nothing else, it was so good." He even chopped up a 1/4 chicken leg for my twins that wanted chicken instead of port. That was not on the menu but he obliged as he saw I had my hands full with these picky girls. They loved the chicken sandwich! My wife and I got the Pulled Pork and Ribs platter. Between the two of us, we had Brunswick Stew, Potato Salad, and Baked Beans as sides. As you know, you can judge a place on it's stew. Hog Daddy did not disappoint. His Brunswick Stew was FIRST RATE. The pulled pork was top notch. Juicy and did not need sauce. The ribs were perfect. Fell off the bone and were also juicy and full of flavor. My wife and I were stuffed about half way through the platter. It was a TON of food at an amazing price. We stopped in the next day and picked up more food for the drive home. Stop in here if you are in the mood for BBQ you will love it. The kids will love it. This is some great BBQ. PS: I sampled the Chicken and Dumpling Soup. OMG if you have the opportunity to get some, do it.. you do not know what you are missing. I don't care if it is 95 degrees outside, this soup is worth it. Bummed I did not get a bowl while I was there.

I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area. You can tell the owner really takes pride in the food quality and provides very friendly service. A place you'd want to grab and go and don't forget to get some extra sauce (about $2), it's clearly made in house and very delicious depending on the style you might prefer. You will want some more of it. We tried the brisket, chicken, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and some great sides especially the beans and potato salad (good spice flavor balance). My family all enjoyed making sandwiches from our various well smoked meats. One thing I would consider is a bit more heat, but I'm sure every area and individual has their own preferences. All around excellent value and deliciousness!
