Took the family to a water park in LaGrange and was desperately seeking real food. Now I am from GA and love BBQ. I do a bit of my own as any true Georgian does. And my BBQ is pretty darn good. When it comes to eating out I have a rule that the place has to make something or do it in a way that is either cheaper than I can do or make better than I can make it. Hog Daddy's nails both of those points. My kids are quite picky eaters. They tend to gravitate to the typical 6-year-old habits of chicken strips and other fried foods. My girls were not pleased that I chose Hod Daddy's at first. Then they tried it and asked me to go back the next day and get more. The girls loved the pulled pork sandwich which they said "needed nothing else, it was so good." He even chopped up a 1/4 chicken leg for my twins that wanted chicken instead of port. That was not on the menu but he obliged as he saw I had my hands full with these picky girls. They loved the chicken sandwich! My wife and I got the Pulled Pork and Ribs platter. Between the two of us, we had Brunswick Stew, Potato Salad, and Baked Beans as sides. As you know, you can judge a place on it's stew. Hog Daddy did not disappoint. His Brunswick Stew was FIRST RATE. The pulled pork was top notch. Juicy and did not need sauce. The ribs were perfect. Fell off the bone and were also juicy and full of flavor. My wife and I were stuffed about half way through the platter. It was a TON of food at an amazing price. We stopped in the next day and picked up more food for the drive home. Stop in here if you are in the mood for BBQ you will love it. The kids will love it. This is some great BBQ. PS: I sampled the Chicken and Dumpling Soup. OMG if you have the opportunity to get some, do it.. you do not know what you are missing. I don't care if it is 95 degrees outside, this soup is worth it. Great Que at this place, my wife and I were up visiting GWL from Augusta with the kids and really enjoyed the nicely smoked food for excellent prices. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area. You can tell the owner really takes pride in the food quality and provides very friendly service. A place you'd want to grab and go and don't forget to get some extra sauce (about $2), it's clearly made in house and very delicious depending on the style you might prefer. You will want some more of it. We tried the brisket, chicken, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and some great sides especially the beans and potato salad (good spice flavor balance). My family all enjoyed making sandwiches from our various well smoked meats. One thing I would consider is a bit more heat, but I'm sure every area and individual has their own preferences. I stopped by late for a casual meal. I ordered the ribs and pulled pork with onion rings and potato salad. The young woman who served me was delightful and very pleasant to speak with. Checked up on me to see if I needed anything. Ribs were excellent and pulled pork was nice. Onion rings were a little too greasy for me but that's just being picky. Was a very nice dinner and I highly recommend anyone in the Lagrange area visit this of you're craving delicious BBQ. read more

Wow just wow!!! Everything from the food to the service was excellent. The gentlemen working the counter was very kind! The food amazing! I had the bbq sandwich with potato salad. The pulled pork was soft and flavorful. Potato salad so very yummy! My husband had the Brunswick stew and said it was the best he had eaten. It's very hard to find old fashion stew!! It's a hidden gem! I now have a go to bbq place when traveling to and from FL, can't wait to return! You must check this place out!! read more

First off staff is amazingly friendly and went through the menu with us. The selection was great. I ordered the sampler. The ribs, sausage and pork was amazing. The chicken was good but not amazing like the rest. It wasn't bad by any means just not my favorite flavor. There isn't any indoor seating but that's ok. BBQ was very good. We all had pulled pork sandwiches but they let us try the brisket and both were very good. The fried pies that were available were great. This is a to-go place as there isn't any seating. We were in town for a funeral and stopped here for lunch prior to the service. They were very accommodating, setting up a small table and chairs for us. I would definitely be a regular customer if I lived nearby. read more

Alan is the best host and friendliest fellow around. Great food and conversation. This is one of the roadside BBQ spots you will want to try. The Friday brisket melts in your mouth. The ribs are spot on tender, but yet you get that good firm bite. The pulled pork is seasoned well, and the house made BBQ sauce ties everything together for that deep south BBQ experience! Stopped in this past week for some local bbq while in the area. Had two pork sandwiches, excellent flavor with some incredible bbq sauce. The owner was working and serving, he was a very nice gentleman. I would highly recommend this place for bbq. The ribs liked delicious but didn't try them. The restaurant shares a parking lot with a gas station but it's completely separate, had two grills out front. Everything is home made and made in house read more

Amazing food, ribs and chopped porkbutt were standouts!! Now for the best part. The owner, his incredible wife and the helpful staff made our lunch unbelievable. They even recommended a local attraction called The Hogg Mine which was a wonderful experience for us who love rock hunting. Really great people!!
