BBC came highly recommended by friends who recently had their kitchen remodeled. I really liked how it turned out, and they suggested I contact Ricardo and his team. I could not be more thankful for this introduction. My project was completed way ahead of schedule, but more importantly, I love the end result. Abdi, Jonathan, Ricardo and Tony all worked tirelessly on my small kitchen to make sure it's done on time. Abdi was the main guy on my project, and he knows the SF code like the back of his hand. They pretty much designed my kitchen, I gave some ideas on what I wanted to do, and they took care of the rest. My old kitchen was very dated and small, and BBC had to work to open it up and give it a more modern look, as well as make it more functional. The entire kitchen was gutted, some walls came down, and appliances were moved. The guys were professional and knowledgeable throughout the process. I was impressed with the attention to detail. My boyfriend had several suggestions as the project progressed, only to find out that this was already thought of and worked on. BBC recommended a couple of wholesale suppliers on the outskirts of SF where I could buy cabinets, countertops, etc. to keep my costs down. They were more affordable than custom cabinets or home depot -- you might want to ask them about that if you are working on a budget. They even arranged to exchange a cabinet door that had a scratch on it before I had the chance to notice it. Any kind of renovation is a big project, especially the kitchen. The most important part of this whole experience is that I trusted them and did not feel like I had to worry at any stage. They are really hard workers with an amazing work ethic and you can tell that they care and take a lot of pride in their work. My new kitchen turned out even better than I imagined. read more

We've hired BBC Construction twice now, and will be hiring them for a third project for a different house. The first project we had was related to a stopped drain in our shower; however, our shower design has teak floors, glass doors, and slate bench so deconstructing it to unclog was the major part of the project. For a longer term solution, we cut one of the teak planks so that for future clogs, we could easily access the drain and call a plumber. The second project, we had several leak issues. We were getting rain in from our french doors in a bedroom on the second floor, we had a leak from our upstairs bathroom that came down into the living room, ruining our ceiling and other minor projects like replacing outdoor rotting steps, resealing kitchen marble counters. I decided to replace our tub with a shower, and worked with Ricardo and Tony through the details, and had fun choosing the materials. They were on-time & on budget; although, I had a delay with the floor tiles (rocks) I chose, they were accommodating to come back to complete the project once we received the materials. I trust this team, and their recommendations as I prefer to do projects right the first time. read more

These guys are the best. I had a rotten deck and back door in desperate need of replacement. Ricardo and Tony came out to the house, took stock of the project and had a quote back to me right away. Not only did they come in 100% on-budget with no surprises, they also finished the job five days early. They kept the worksite clean and paid close attention to every detail. My neighbors never complained. The job moved smoothly in part because Ricardo is very quick to keep in touch via text message. While we were choosing back doors he sent photos and we confirmed all decisions. After they finished construction I decided I'd like the deck clear-coated and Ricardo scheduled a painter right away. We hired BBC to correct our dry rot issues around the house and they were awesome to work with. They showed up when they said they would, they brought all their own tools, they took care of all the new materials we needed, and most importantly, THEY DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB! My hub is "rather picky" (major understatement) about home repairs, and he thought the carpenter did marvelous work. First time in forever that my hub didn't redo the work once the crew left at the end of the day. And imagine my surprise when the final bill came in significantly less than the bid they gave me. Tony and Ricardo are the Trifecta: extremely knowledgeable and experienced, prompt/punctual/responsive (they know how to communicate), and they give solid estimates. BBC has done two jobs for me so far: 1. They helped remodel/install a new kitchen - it came out beautifully and they were extremely professional and trustworthy. 2. A new brick staircase - built to last and air-tight. There were some unique situations with this construction but they were willing to work with me to meet my goals. I am happy to strongly recommend BBC Construction for anyone reading this review. They are both nice and professional and have pride in their work (they won't do a half-assed job). I know this email is a little too positive, but I have nothing negative to say about them. Of course, always do your due diligence and get other estimates/meet with others before any job, but I think you'll find that these brothers are the way to go 9.9 times out of 10! read more

We've been meaning to review BBC for a long time! Last year we moved into a new (old) house that had an improperly constructed patio/addition. The patio leaked a ton during the winter, so we needed to tear it up and redo it, and then repair the water-damaged room underneath. We live in Bernal, where BBC has their cars parked usually, so we gave them a call on a whim. Ricardo + Tony were super responsive and very quickly came out to do an estimate, and we were really impressed by their professionalism. They immediately identified the scope of the work, and their estimate was very detailed and precise, which gave us a great deal of confidence in their experience and abilities. The overall repair work was done extremely quickly and efficiently, especially considering the scope of the job. The job site was always kept clean and was professionally maintained. Ricardo & Tony always took great care to explain all the work to us, so we always felt like we had a handle on the progress being made. It helps too The work itself was always of very high quality, with a great deal of attention being paid to the details. In the end, the work was done in the time and amount quoted on the bid, sans some adjustments we had to make to the scope of work when we discovered severe rotting on some structural beams after we demolished the patio. In short, we will continue to give BBC our business when it comes to home repairs / construction. read more

We've worked with BBC three times now: first as subcontractors on a project that included replacing an exterior stairway and fence, then to replace a large garage window whose frame had rotted and was leaking, and most recently to replace another leaking window frame in a redwood-shingled wall (they had to replace the wall too). They're easy guys to work with, have very reasonable prices, do beautiful work and are quick to respond to our concerns and questions. I must have had a dozen contractors look at the water damage on the back porch of our two-unit condo. Many didn't seem to know what they were doing, or never called back (one of those can-of-worms jobs...). Everyone told me contractors take twice as long as promised and cost twice what they quote...but that's because they didn't work with BBC! Tony and Ricardo were on the higher end of the bids, but they were prompt, professional, and thorough. They finished ahead of schedule, and entirely within budget. Not only did they do an impeccable job of replacing a leaky pipe and the ceiling that it ruined, but they installed recessed lighting at no extra fee. I happened to see a BBC Construction car outside my workplace and saw that they did kitchen remodeling. I took a photo and called them up for a bid. I had purchased new kitchen cabinets and a quartz counter top and needed them installed. They bid a little higher than my first quote because they noticed that extra work needed to be done that the other bidder didn't notice. I liked their thoroughness and decided to give them a try. I also had a short deadline coming up and they said they could have the job complete in one day. Needless to say I was very happy I went with Ricardo and Tony! They did a great job, careful with details and great guys to work with. Their work was flawless and fast! I would highly recommend them for any work and hope to be working with them again. Saw BBC Construction across the street from my home and I decided to ask Ricardo to look at my bathroom which was from the 50's. Tony and Ricardo gave me a quote and I also told them what I wanted. Both brothers are extremely experienced, prompt, punctual and gave me solid estimates. My bathroom was done on time and is all that I wanted and more. Austine, the tile man did an outstanding job and I could not have asked for a neater person. He was so very clean and tidy even when he was working. Ricardo, Tony and their crew were so respectful of my property, they treated my home as if it was their own. They are very professional and truly trustworthy and I would use them in the future. I highly recommend them. Their prices are average compared to other contractors that I have used especially in the San Francisco area. You pay for what you get.
