However, the food was just...meh. After we ordered, we were each given a small cup of pickled radish. Nice, cold, crunchy, pickled radish. Very refreshing. We added on some corn salad ($3) which came in a small bowl. Very tasty. Think sweet coleslaw but with corn and bell peppers instead. The kimchi fried rice ($12) came out first. You could add spam or cheese for an additional charge. We chose to go plain. It came out with a fried egg on top. A well-done fried egg. No runny yolk on this bad boy. The rice was a bit oily and needed a pinch more salt. Otherwise, it was good. The fried dumplings ($8) came next. I think there were 8 pieces. The dumpling wrapper was nice and thin and the dumplings were nicely fried. The filling caught me off guard - it was sweet. And the dipping sauce was a bit, underwhelming. Husband asked for soy sauce instead. Chicken wise, we got the honey garlic wings and the Galbi chicken (half). Both chicken options came out hot and crunchy with moist meat. The honey garlic wings were amazing - great garlic flavor with a dash of honey. The Galbi was good but wasn't all that great. However, the Galbi tasted amazing after sitting in the fridge and being heated up in the oven. The honey garlic wings on the other hand, did not taste quite as nice as leftovers. The profound garlic and honey flavors did not carry well at takeout. All in all, this was a good experience but I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Food I got a generous sampling of the chicken (wings, boneless wings, and 1/2 chicken). My favorite combination was the boneless wings + soy garlic. I liked that they were willing to put the sauce on the side. That way, if you don't like the sauce, then you can have the wings on their own (this is the option for commitment phobes lol). I came to BB.Q Chicken without any expectations thinking it was just going to be like any other fried chicken restaurant. However, my first bite into the cheesling chicken proved me very wrong. My family and I tried 5 different dishes, and all of us had our own personal favorite. Each flavor was unique in its own way and tasted amazing. The Cheesling is a boneless fried chicken coated in parmesan cheese, which was my favorite. I love that you can taste the flavor from the cheese, but it's not overwhelming or distracts from the chicken at all. The Soy Garlic was a favorite among most of us. The glaze that it is coated with tastes amazing, and I think this one was the crunchiest one. Half and half comes with half golden olive chicken and half secret spicy chicken. The golden olive was just your typical plain fried chicken- or I guess their version of plain chicken. Very juicy and crispy as well. The spicy chicken was good but probably the one I liked the least. It wasn't really spicy to me, but had a sweetness to it. Lastly, we got the fried rice cake dish and the rice cake soup dish. Both were tasty side dishes with the soup one being mildly spicy. The soup came out much bigger than I expected and was a great addition to the chicken! What stood out to me the most was their customer service and portion sizes. It usually takes a lot to get my family full, but these dishes came out with so much that we all left full and only finished one full dish. We go out of our way to stop by bb.q Chicken when we are in Duluth. Their chicken is perfectly fried with a light, airy, crispy batter and the meat is so juicy inside. Love that the chicken doesn't feel too greasy either. I would highly recommend their original golden chicken (which is basically just normal fried chicken) as well as the secret spicy chicken. My all time fave korean fried chicken. They recently released a mala flavored chicken and spicy rice cakes, so I tried it out, and I am personally a HUGE fan of mala -- it was great. The extent of numbness was just right, and it wasn't too spicy (and I can't do spicy). There is definitely a spicy (numbing) kick to the flavor, so if you can't handle that, I suggest you ordre something else. The service is always spot-on here. Everyone is super friendly and you get exactly what you want. I also enjoy their fried chicken, cheese spicy rice cakes, rose spicy rice cake, cheesling chicken & secret spicy chicken. They've been closed for dine-in since COVID started till May of this year, making it the longest Korean restaurant to only offer to-go services during the pandemic. To be honest, getting the chicken takeout reminds me even more of Korea, so maybe it is the nostalgia of it also. However, their batter can hold up to the test of time. Double fried goodness, coated in the best of sauces and powdery concoctions. My favorite being their hard-to-find-elsewhere "cheesly" white cheddar cheese powder, that is highly addictive. Just think of those powder sugar doughnuts that you grew up eating, but instead it is perfectly sour cheesy powder instead, ON CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN! BBQ Chicken is back and it's still good. If you're looking for some of the best Korean fried chicken in metro Atlanta, come here. I'm not sure why the old BBQ Chicken location, which wasn't too far from where this location stands today, closed. It opened in March 2011 (http://bit.ly/3a7slOc) and used to be in the same nearby strip where, coincidentally, Thank U Chicken is now. I'm guessing the franchisees for this location are different from the old location. The brand, which is internationally-recognized (even in countries like Bangladesh, Fiji, and Iran), is the same. As far as I can tell, the menu is pretty much the same as the old location too. These guys specialize in chicken which is deep-fried in olive oil. It's delicious. The "BBQ" in BBQ Chicken doesn't mean barbecue, but instead "Best of the Best Quality." It's their schtick. Depending on where you look, you might see the business name as "BBQ Chicken," "BB.Q Chicken," or "BBQ Olive Chicken." "BBQ Olive Chicken" is what's on the main storefront sign and what's printed on top of the receipts here. This location opened in August 2019 in the old MyungDong Noodle space (http://bit.ly/35MgEsN) in between the shuttered Virtu Lounge and Dan Sung Sa (http://bit.ly/35JeLgA). It's a tiny little strip just off Pleasant Hill Road, not far from I-85. They have one large screen for the dining room; during our visit, they played both K-pop *and* J-pop with integrated speakers throughout the entire space, including the restroom. This place has a very casual vibe and it's great for groups. Half chickens are sold at $11-12 each and whole chickens $21-22 each. You can also do half and half combos for $22 per order. The main flavors are Golden Olive, Secret Spicy, and Hot Spicy. They also sell boneless chicken and wings in a greater variety of flavors like honey garlic and "Gangnam Style" which is made with peppers, leeks, and garlic sauteed in a black pepper sauce. Orders for boneless chicken and wings cost roughly about the same. For sides, they have a mixture of American and Asian foods. For example, sweet potato fries ($6) and fried dumplings ($7). They also have Korean snack foods, common of Korean fried chicken restaurants, like spicy stir-fried rice cakes ("ddeok bokki," $10) and fishcake soup ($10). $10 lunch specials, which include a small order of boneless chicken plus fries and a soda, are available 11:30am-3:00pm. $17 late night combos, which include popcorn chicken plus alcohol (either a bottle of soju or two bottles of beer), are available after 8:30pm. Speaking of alcohol, you can buy somaek ("somac") here for $17 per set. Somaek is soju + beer. The taste and texture of the chicken was flawless. The taste was rich and sweet, but not spicy, contrary to its name. This has got to be the BEST Korean fried chicken, EVER! Let me explain. I came here for lunch with my 1 year old, and my pastor, at 12:00. The parking lot was not too full, but that's understandable. For they opened at 11:30. When we entered the restaurant, I noticed that everything was clean, organized, and well maintained. The tables were spotless, the floors were clean and it smelled amazing. The atmosphere was welcoming, casual and fresh feeling. Kid friendly, with tables, highchair, and semi booth (half chair half bench like) seating. The waitress at the front, was kind, attentive, pleasant, and professional. We were seated immediately and given our menus. The items on the menu consisted on different flavors of fried chicken. To name a few, you could choose from their original, soy garlic, cheeseling, spicy, etc. They had boneless and bone in wings. Their sides include cheese sticks, onion rings, fries or sweet potato fries, and Cole slaw. I decided to get the soy garlic bone in wings with french fries. My pastor had the honey garlic with french fries. When my chicken came out, I immediately smelled the garlic. It smelled sweet and smoky. You could actually see the fresh garlic on the chicken. I bit into that chicken, and heard something that I have never got the chance to hear. I heard a huge crunch and I heard someone say "Dang, that's better than my mama's chicken." That was me y'all. I said it. I looked at that chicken with bewilderment. True bewilderment. The chicken was so crispy on the outside, yet moist and tender on the inside. The wings were huge too! Now, I gotta say this. I usually have a problem with big wings. I tend to always run into restaurants that fry big wings, but they don't taste done on the inside. Not here y'all. These were perfect. Absolutely perfect. The soy garlic wings were sweet, but not too sweet, garlicky and savory. I traded a wing with my pastor, so that I could taste the flavor of the honey garlic. I was not disappointed. These wings were perfect as well. They were sweet, satisfying and garlicky. As a matter of fact, my pastor and I both ordered a to go order, for later. We also had an order of the original chicken. We loved that too. It was moist, crunchy and tender. What a wonderful place to sit down and eat. Even the chef came out and asked how our food tasted. You don't get that to happen often. That kind of service cease to exist nowadays. When I came home, I met my husband with the to go order. He sat down and began eating the wings. He doggone near lost his mind. All I could hear was crunch crunch, "yumm, mmmm," crunch crunch. I saved a couple of pieces for my daughter, so that she could eat it when she got home from school. She wants to go here for her birthday. This place is my new chicken favorite. As we was leaving the restaurant, my pastor and I was already discussing bringing the church there, after service on Sunday. This restaurant was excellent. Quality food, service, cleanliness, and pleasantry. Thank you for bringing these flavors and unique way of cooking, to Georgia. Like the Terminator, I'll be back..... Over and over and over again. I am a sucker for fried chicken that's coated in sweet spicy sauce, so i think i'd probably give 4 start to any place that specialized in making it. Because I love all sweet and saucy fried chicken, my review is definitely biased and probably not as helpful. I think that they had the right amount of crisp and pretty good variety. We went on a weekend at night and it was pretty busy, we probably sat waiting for about 30ish minutes, but chicken was worth it for sure. read more

I love bbq chicken! It's the best kfc (Korean fried chicken) I have ever had. However, service is extremely slow. I would recommend ordering your food through the doordash or uber account. This place doesn't have much help and is extremely busy! I tried several of their flavors but my favorites are the secret spicy, soy garlic, and hot spicy. OMG the food is excellent. My wife loves Crash Landing on You and her friends told us about this place. The menu is a few Korean dishes and then a lot of fried chicken. I was expecting it to be like finger foods served at a bar but I was wrong. She ordered the regular chicken with the bones in and I got the boneless Secret Spicy chicken. I was expecting nugget size pieces for the boneless, but they were huge chucks of meat and a lot of them. We also ordered fish cake soup, steamed rice, and sweet potato fries. It was all really good quality and tasted amazing. They have a few lunch and also late night specials. I will definitely have to make another trip and try more of the menu. read more
