So Ddoek So Ddeok

Everything was amazing and the ambience was super nice and the chicken was the best chicken we've had in a very long time

Went looking for a Korean BBQ spot in downtown Decatur and it was closed. Searched and found this spot. When we got inside, the attendant was not very friendly or welcoming. We found our own table as directed and placed an order that was directly promptly and accurately. Once the food got here, it was delicious. We ordered a lot as a group and are almost everything. The dining area was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the vibe. If you are in downtown Decatur, don't let the sour attitude at the door discourage. Try this place out!

I came to this restaurant on a Saturday evening to pick up food for take out. Upon arrival, the restaurant wasn't too crowded, and there would have been ample seating had I been dining in. I was given my order immediately which was quite hot, at the time expected (20 minutes post ordering). The food was packaged well and had no issues transporting it home! The chicken was great. Crispy, juicy and flavorful, and had a nice kick! The wings did seems slightly smaller than average, but they were definitely filling. The rose Ddeok-Bokki also tasted great, both sweet and spicy, and full of flavor. Meals also come with a side of radishes which is a nice touch!

The service is really great, I do not remember the serve name but she was really nice and patient. The food was not really THAT good. It's not authentic but more catered towards Americans pallet. We ordered rose Ddeok bokki (7/10) and kimchi fried rice (5/10). The interior is just your normal mid level restaurant. Nothing fancy or unique there.

So glad I came here . The service was so amazing . Our server was so helpful and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the crispy wings and appetizers. I will come back just for the wings . 17$ for a 9 piece is kind of pricey but worth it. They were playing k pop music and videos on the tv . We were definitely vibing. I'm coming back with the crew!!!

Oh dear...maybe it's because this location is quite new, but it left much to be desired in pretty much every aspect of the experience. I've been to other locations of bb.q in the past - I had always thought the chicken was pretty good (but not necessarily mind blowing). Decided to come to this one on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't too crowded inside (but we were soon to find out why...). Normally we would get beer to go with our chicken, but they don't have their liquor license yet. We chose a whole chicken split half and half - original flavor and secret sauce (which had a very mild spice to it). It took at least 30-40 minutes for our food to come out. The chicken was served with two small sides of radish, and we also ordered some extra. Ugh. The flavor of the batter was FUNKY. I don't know how to describe it, but something tasted off, and the weird taste was even more prominent in the chicken with sauce. The skin wasn't nearly crispy enough (isn't crispy skin the whole point of Korean fried chicken?) and the radish was nothing to write home about either. We did not finish our food, and when asked if we wanted to-go boxes, I was quick to say "no thanks". Try your luck elsewhere - this spot isn't it.

Chicken was good for distance to home. If willing to travel into the city, there are better options.

The golden original wings are so fire. Tasty, juicy, perfectly crispy breading. Pickled radish and fresh kimchi are incredible as well.

From the outside, the front entrance is a very plain white unassuming door, but once inside the ambiance is full of personality. Grungy, dim lit, industrial is the vibe. The service was very friendly, everyone has such cool tattoos, and the food was amazing. They serve smaller style portions, so it's easy to get multiple things and share. We got the glass noodles with bone marrow and the braised pork belly. The glass noodles were tender but still had a nice bounce to them, and the bone marrow added a deep warm umami flavor. The braised pork belly was perfectly cooked, slight crisp and very juicy. It came with some lettuce and pickled vegetables to make wraps with. Overall a great hang out or date spot, will definitely be coming back to try the other menu items

I read all these reviews about "J" being a good server, and there is no exaggerating about her at all. She greeted me like she knew me when I walked in, and it just continued the whole meal. Lots of seating inside, and a great patio area outside. Comfortable seating for a party of two, and lots of room for larger groups and families. The menu was small but full of really amazing sounding flavors. I'd call it a mixture of Asian-fusion take on some traditional foods. My friend and I shared some Tuna Poke and KFC Bao Buns--yum!! I wanted a sake that wasn't too sweet and asked J for her recommendation. The very unique Matcha Sake was perfect!! Wish I didn't have y buy the bottle, but glad to take it home too. For entrees, my friend ordered the Bibimbap with Beef in the hot stone bowl (+$), and I tried the Garlic Noodles with shrimp (adding mushrooms and spinach for some veggies+$). Both were UH-mazing! The dishes weren't too big, but we still had enough to take home. We'll be back to try some of the other dishes. If you go, tell J ("like the letter") that she's Yelp famous.

Roasted pork belly bento: The pork belly was really scrumptious. I really like the bento box idea as it provided a balance of other items to round out the pork belly. The kimchi fried rice was spectacular along with the x3 dumpling pieces. The radish cubes and greens definitely balanced out the meal. The classic bento box also came in Korean fried chicken or bulgogi beef. They have this on both the weekend and weekday at varying prices. KFC pizza: This pizza blend was really interesting. The blend of corn and pickle slices were interesting ingredients. But also the Korean fried chicken flavoring is also unique in itself. The base was a red sauce and KFC sauce, not my favored white version, but it wasn't too bizarre tasting. It was okay in my books. The bento box was great. That particular pizza was okay. I'd love to come and visit again whenever we're back in that area.

I was really excited to see bibimbap with a chicken option!! Now THAT is rare!! But I wanted to try the spicy Korean BBQ chicken more. I can't wait to come back to try the bimbimbap though. My BBQ came with kimchi & a noodle salad in the side, and it was amazing! The chicken wasn't what I expected--which I thought was more like bulgogi--but the grilled chicken is so good! And the spicy sauce wasn't terribly spicy but definitely tasty! Kimchi was crispy & full of nice flavor! Satisfying for sure! My daughter wanted a crispy spicy tuna roll, and they customized a plain roll upon request! I thought that was cool. And my son loved his beef ramen--slurping up a pile of well-made noodles & broth.
