Great lunch or dinner selections. Service is great most of the time. Friendly staff, managers are very friendly & it's convenient if you are at the Galleria. I frequent this spot at lunch. Now that I know they have brunch on weekends I'll have to try it. read more

After calling around town for places to be open, we quickly found out that many places were closed on Wednesday, July 4th. We knew one place that would definitely be open...the GALLERIA. So why not just grab a bite to eat there? Bistro N is the cafe inside of Nordstrom. It is in the back, it's quite big, and has classy decor. Reminded me a lot of a quant version of cheesecake factory. Once seated, we had a small loaf of their sourdough bread. The service was very attentive our meals came out quick, refills taken care of before the glasses were emptied. As far as meals, went our group had the Steak Sandwich with fries, cooked well to a very pink medium, the fries came with a strawberry? dipping sauce, different but good. I had the braised short rib with pasta, the short rib was very tender, only could ask for a bit bigger serving for the price, and my gf had the fig/strawberry salad. It was packed full of fresh fruit. I also started out with a cup of their crab bisque. Overall, everything was good, a bit on the pricey side but it's inside of the galleria, a good small little bistro to stop off if you're tired from shopping. read more

My internal clock alerted me as noon approached during my Christmas shopping excursion at Houston's Galleria mall. Finding a comfortable resting place outside of Saks, I pulled up my trusty Yelp app, and my fellow Houston Yelpers led me to Bazille. Situated at the top of the "down" escalator in Nordstrom's, Bazille is truly a hidden gem. They offer a full bar and a varied menu that will suit any palate. I sat at the bar, ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and quickly settled on the Ahi Tuna salad with spicy Thai dressing. The pairing was unplanned, lucky, and perfect. The greens were fresh, the ahi perfect, and the Thai dressing had just the right amount of "kick" - not too much, not too little. The ambience was elegant enough to up the ante a bit from what one might typically expect at a department store in a shopping mall. But - this is Nordstrom, this is Houston, and this is The Galleria. I'll be back. read more

Amazing restaurant! We have been going to Bazille in Nordstrom for years and we always have a great experience. The food is delicious, and some of our favorites are the crab avocado and mango salad, salmon nicoise salad, and all of the pizzas. The service is amazing, in fact the last time we were there Jose, our waiter, was great. He was very generous and attentive to our needs. The ambience and layout are very nice. You get a great view of the kitchen and there is good lighting. Overall, a great restaurant! read more

A little hard to find, did not expect a restaurant inside a Nordstrom's. Very elegant, great cocktails, excellent food, romantic ambience.

I met a friend here for lunch, was a little anxious about the chance of no vegan fare, but I wasn't too hungry on this particular day so there was a high probability of salad anyway. So Wednesday around 1 p.m. - anticipate a wait. From the looks of it, this is quite the magnet for Galleria shoppers. We waited a good twenty or so minutes and were finally seated. The waitress was pretty prompt and great with collecting our orders and furnishing us with water and complimentary bread. Shockingly (or not), I settled on a salad - which doesn't seem to be listed on the website, but it comprised of chunks of heart of palms (or was it artichoke?), cucumber, some lavash crisps, roma tomato slices, grape tomato slices - maybe some other ingredients? I asked for it sans cheese and arrived as specified. As far as salads go, this one was rather nice - actual substantial veggie pieces and no cheap filler iceberg lettuce. The vinaigrette was light and tasty, but it didn't bowl me over. I was pretty satiated and actually felt pretty darn healthy, but I can't say I was super impressed. This is a nice little option for Galleria shoppers hoping to avoid the unrefined fried/unhealthiness of the food court, but it's not the most vegan friendly. I guess I kind of had high standards with the significant wait or something? read more

I tend to avoid coming to the Galleria cause of the further drive and crowds, but now I have an extra incentive to make the hike up here because I know there will be some good food involved. I came on a Saturday afternoon and there was a 30 minute wait. This was no problem since their buzzer works throughout Nordstrom so you are free to wander and shop to work up your appetite as you wait for your table. They start you off with sourdough bread and butter that is perfectly warm and doughy. I was a bit irked that 2 out of the 3 items I had my eyes set on ordering was sold out (all the pizzas and a majority of the sandwiches), so I settled with the Fig & Goat Cheese Arugula Salad, French Onion Soup, and BLT Sandwich. In the end, I was so delighted with my choices. The vanilla bean vinaigrette on the salad added a warm, sweet fragrance that I wish I could recreate on my own. The French Onion Soup was so good that we ended up adding a second order. You could definitely taste the quality of ingredients through each bite and how well thought out the combinations were. You bet I'll be coming back for that pizza next time! read more

"The restaurant is very loud and at lunch, filled with socialites trying to shout over one another. Our table had the French onion soup - quite good; a croque Madame sandwich - mediocre at best; the cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad - shrimp were quite over cooked and tough; and the Flat Iron Steak Frites with mushroom risotto in lieu of fries - which was the tastiest item of them all. For dessert we samples the creme brûlée which would have been much better without the lump of canned lemon curd on top. For a restaurant within a retail store, the food wasn't bad. But it is loud, the service is quite slow for lunch and the food is mediocre at best. If you're at the mall and hungry, it beats the food court. But if you've other options for lunch, go there instead." read more

It was my first time here and I was excited to finally try it. I ordered a French 75 and my waiter suggested the GM 75. I ordered the GM 75 with the intent to follow up with the Vine Street alongside the Maple Bacon Devil Eggs. When he brought the the GM 75; I tasted it and asked if it could be properly topped off with Prosecco because the Lemon Sour was overwhelming. The waiter took the drink and brought it back and stated the manager said that in order to have my drink "topped off" maybe 1-2oz of Prosecco would cost a full glass of Prosecco! So in order to have my drink properly and correctly filled; I'd have to pay for an additional drink? The devil eggs we're great alongside the service. Pictures as follows. I drank 2 oz of the drink so the photo isn't accurate but the photos are attached Update: Spoke to the manager and there was a miscommunication upon myself and the waiter. I asked him to explain to me why the top off would require the purchase of an additional drink. He offered to take care of it . I thought he'd just simply fix the drink and bring it back; Instead he took the drink and took it off the ticket. I still wanted my drink I just wanted them to fix it. Communication and clarity is key. I want my drink and want to pay for it. I just want you to fix the taste. read more

This spot is perfect for a pit stop after a tiresome day of shopping or just stopping in for a quick lunch if your in the galleria area. I took my mom for some lunch and it was great. So many options to choose from on the menu, but we weren't starving so we split the burger, fries & side salad. When we ordered, I told our server that we'd share a plate and when the food arrived to the table, the kitchen took it upon themselves to split everything right down the middle and served us with separate plates. I thought that was super thoughtful... it's the little things :) we also had a glass of Pinot and Red blend and they were both perfect for our meal. The bread and butter that they serve while you wait was scrumptious too! Everyone was very friendly and our server was top notch. Excellent place to stop when you're at the Galleria. Located on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom's, the staff is always friendly and polite. They have great bread and butter for a starter, soft on the inside with a crunch on the outside. They also have an absolutely delicious ginger peach tea which I always order. Their menu is seasonal meaning it changes so it definitely a good and bad thing. It's good, so it allows you to choose something new and discover a new delicious dish. It's bad, it causes you to miss your favorites when they are not on the menu!! lol Their Crab Bisque is usually always on the menu and is delicious! As well as their Caesar salad. Their Prime Rib French Dip and Bistro Club are mostly on the menu but you may miss it seasonal every now and again. Both are absolutely delicious. Especially the Bistro Club with sliced chicken breast, organic baby greens, crisp bacon, tomato, avocado, French green beans, garlic aioli and toasted rustic bread. The green beans are a great surprise and crunch. The Roast Chicken Pomme Frites is my absolute favorite!!! But it's seasonal. lol. Half a chicken that has been flattened and roasted with herb butter is so juicy and tender! Yum! I've been ordering the Flatiron Steak Frites is what I have been ordering lately. Delicious steak though sometimes a little thick to cut through but still cooked perfectly to your temperature. Their herb fries on any dish is crisply cooked and great with ranch dressing. The wait staff almost always offers ice tea to go which I LOVE! Nice touch. They are practicing social distancing and even have a sign that allows the host/hostess to know that the tables have been sanitized. They are using paper menus and even have a QR code for the menu. They also practice asking which sweeteners you like to avoid providing a sugar caddy which could be touched by many individuals. read more

I've been coming to Nordstrom for a few years now. HOW did I miss THIS place?!?!! I came to Nordstrom with a newborn care client and my little charge, so we could all get out of the house for a bit. Mom needed something for an event, and after she found what she needed, we decided to stop here for lunch. This was during one of the super cold days a couple of weeks ago, so I opted for a sandwich and soup combo. This kind of combo can only be made with their bistro club sandwich, but I was totally fine with that, since that was the sandwich I wanted. I ordered the club along with a cup of their crab bisque, and it didn't disappoint. It was delicious! The bisque was rich and creamy, although I would've preferred more crab than I got in it. It had a little bit of tomato soup in the bottom, which was different, but it was SO good, and it was PERFECT weather for hot soup and a warm sandwich on toasted bread. Our server was great, and the host that greeted us was very friendly. I half expected people to be a little on the snooty side here, but none of that! I'll definitely return the next time I'm at the mall and hungry. read more

I am a huge Nordstroms fan and love to shop and then get a bite in the cafe. This particular cafe experience was sort of lousy. We tried two salads. The shrimp salad and the goat cheese fig salad: both salads were well designed and the flavors were good. Mine, however, had gnats or something. Not kidding! I repeatedly saw little black bugs flying around my salad and realized they were actually emerging from my salad. End of meal. Stop eating when you find insects! Service was slow, they were out of many items, the cafe was dark, and the staff had that untrained, unprofessional inattentive attitude, but they were not unfriendly. The sourdough bread and butter was delicious! That was my dinner that night... read more

What a nice surprise :) I went shopping with my mom and sited today and after spending 5 hours at the galleria, we were hungry. We all wanted real food and not fast food so my mom decided to go here. I've never even heard of this place, but my mom said it was good and the were going, since she wanted to shop at nordstroms as well. Walking in I thought this place would be expensive, not only is it in a very expensive clothing store, but the place looks great too. I was wrong, very frindly prices and they great quality. I ordered a chicken something sandwitch which was very tasty and their fries are great too! They reminded me of the smash fries at smashburger. My mom ordered a bowl of crab bisque we all shared and another crab type meal that was tasty as well. I guess she felt like crab today. My sister had a bunch of the bread they provide and a bowl of French onion soup. I didn't try it, but she really enjoyed it. Good service, really good food and a great place to stop when your shopping in the galleria. I would go here again and I wish I knew about this place when I worked in the galleria a year ago. read more

My mom once threw me a birthday party here! She invited my 8 closest girlfriends along with my aunts and grandmother, and we got pampered at Nordstrom before having lunch at the Bistro. The lunch was excellent. The service was great too, and the menu they selected for my guests was incredible! Thing is, the service iSn't that great when you are just going by yourself on a regular day. In fact, the food is also hit or miss. I have had to send back a particularly salty batch of tomato basil soup, and a cold crab Mac and cheese, as well as an overly toasted flat bread. By overly toasted I clearly mean burned. Other times, I have enjoyed every aspect of my meal, and I have even been given to go coffee or iced tea without even asking... So I can continue shopping at Nordstrom (which coincidentally has the best customer service of any of the higher end department stores). So N Bistro needs to get it together. I want to go more often, but Mariposa down at Neiman's never disappoints. read more

The 3 stars is only for the food. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought I walked into Denny's or IHOP. The place was quiet and there was a few people inside. When we arrived the hostess was standoff-ish, didn't bother to ask if we prefer a table or a booth. She showed us the table, but we opt out for booth instead. In front of the booth, there were fries laying on the ground and the wall near us has crayon all over it . Definitely a bistro right. Waiter was rude and did not want to have the time for us. He never came back to refill water, only my friend's tea. I ordered the steak and my friend had the mac and cheese which is pretty decent. The steak was cooked well. I prefer my steak to be cooked medium rare and it was good. It was served with argula tossed with balsemic vingerette and fries. I could have been good with out the fries because that portion was massive and my friends and I couldn't finish it. The kalamata olive aioli was a bit too sour for the fries so I didn't touched that and the herb butter that topped the steak was perfect. No fridge burn taste. My friend's mac and cheese was decent. I could taste the sharp cheddar they use and it went well with the flavoring. This is dish is definitely mediocre and and you can live without it because Del Frisco's offer a lobster mac and cheese and it's drool-worthy. Bottom line: Don't come in here expecting the service. Food is decent, but there are better choices in the surrounding area. read more

Don't waste your time, literally. I try to give restaurants second and sometimes third chances before I write a negative review (see some of my other reviews where the restaurants redeem themselves after a bad experience). After my third visit to Nordstrom Bistro, it turns out that they just can't get things right. The first visit was about a year ago. My wife and I were seated after about a 15 minute wait. 10 minutes later we met our server who took our drink orders. 10 minutes later we received our waters, at which time the waiter said he would be right back. 10 minutes later we takes our order and 35 minutes later we receive our food. This is during lunchtime on a Wednesday. We ordered salads. Our second visit was much like the first, except our plates (again, two salads) arrived after 45 minutes. Also, lunchtime on a weekday. Total time was one hour and 35 minutes. Today, our final visit, we waited 35 minutes to be seated and after waiting for 15 minutes without any sight of our server we decided to cut our losses and leave. This, too, was lunchtime on a weekday. Nordstrom Bistro is fine for those with unlimited time and patience. For those who don't have 2 hours to spend for a worklunch (plus the corresponding frustration of being largely ignored for those 2 hours), don't waste your time here. read more

Bazille is conveniently located in Nordstrom. It's nice to take a little shopping break from all the other eateries that are sometimes just too far of a walk. We arrived here on a Monday afternoon and service was slow beginning to end. So if you're going to dine here, make sure you have the time! We tried the crab stack, ahi tuna salad, and the prosciutto pizza. The crab stack is super delicious. The crab was fresh and all the veggies amazing. The ahi tuna salad had so much flavor. My only complaint is that they skimped on the tuna. I'd definitely pass on the prosciutto pizza. Overall, great for convenience, but pretty standard food. read more

I was shopping at Nordstroms and decided to eat lunch at their Bistro today. HL and I have not eaten here for at least 5 years! We both recalled we thought the food was average the last time we ate here. Today was no different! I ordered the Asian chicken salad and HL the honey grilled chicken sandwich. We both thought the food was just okay! My salad was doused in too much dressing and the organic greens were not so fresh! HL only ate 1/4 of his sandwich because he said the flavor was not good! Service was very good so I felt for service alone, I had to give two stars! I came home a few hours later and had severe stomach pains. I ended throwing up the entire lunch meal! You guessed right! I'll NEVER eat here again! read more

Don't be deceived by the title, Nordstrom Cafe Bistro is open again. They had closed the restaurant down for a couple of months to do some revamping (i.e. adding a bar) as well as other tweaks that I will mention later on in this review. This is one of those restaurants that I like to go to but is never really convenient. It's located on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom, and I usually never find myself hungry enough to need to stop for lunch or dinner while I'm shopping. Thus, I've probably only been here 4-5 times. Each time the food and service have both been pretty good until today. In my previous experience, we were able to order anything we wanted, regardless of whether or not it was on the menu. Today....not so much. We could ONLY order from the dinner menu which was different from the lunch menu (i.e. fewer options and more expensive. Seriously, Nordstrom? You're not a steakhouse so quit acting like you're high class.) Since it was a Wednesday night and pretty dead in the restaurant, I was expecting the service to be pretty good and the servers to be attentive. FAIL! The waiter took forever. He promised to bring a basket of bread right away. I guess right away to him means 15 minutes later. FAIL! He forgot to give two of us forks for our entrees. FAIL! They forgot half of my order. FAIL! Seriously, how hard could it be? He was writing down our orders....The four of us ordered salads with either chicken or salmon and one had soup. My salad was pretty good so I can't get too mad, I guess... We ordered the White Chocolate Bread Pudding to share and it took about 15 minutes. We wanted to cancel the order since we were running late but he insisted that the dessert was almost ready. He informed us that it's taking a while because they make it fresh so they have to bake it, etc.. RIIIIIIIGHT...... FAIL! However, the dessert was pretty good. Highly recommend it. I really want to get it 1 star but the food isn't to blame, it's the server. Not once did he apologize for any of the situations mentioned up above. What a FAILure. read more

Food good, but beware during busy times! It's a kid-friendly joint, and they have lots of good options for people looking for healthy fare. Our particular experience here just wasn't good. Not only did our order get 'mis-placed', but it took almost 45 mins for us to get our food. They were apologetic....sort of, but they didn't discount OR even comp any part of our bill even though they admitted to being at fault. If you intend to go during busy times, either sit at the bar, or be prepared to stay for a while. read more

A friend had suggested this place, and since I'll be working out of the Galleria soon, I decided to give the Nordstrom Cafe Bistro a shot. Overall, this is a "nicer" lunch place than most of the places in the Galleria, however it's less formal than others. This Cafe Bistro is tucked away in the third floor of Nordstrom's, less hidden than the cafes in other major stores in the Galleria. The setting is nice and relaxed, and quieter than some of the more popular places. When it comes to the clientele, I have to admit that I was younger than almost everyone else in there, but it was primarily made up of older business people. The food was good. It wasn't spectacular, but it is above average for a business lunch setting. I tried their chicken corn chowder soup which was really good. The sandwich I got with it was pork, although I forgot which one it was. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was above average. The service was perfect, in that the waitress didn't annoy us nor did we have to wait for anything. In my opinion, the perfect waiter or waitress will give you completely forgettable service. You're there to eat, not to make friends with someone trying to get into your business and not to wait around for someone who is missing whenever you need something. Perhaps it's not fair for me to give this place three stars because I will definitely be back, and I did like it. However, I think I need to try some other dishes here to be wowed by the food. read more
