This was the kind of first-time visit that makes us want to go back for more! We made a spontaneous visit at 5pm on a Friday and lucked out to get a seat on the patio. Molly was our server, and she was fantastic--very busy, but we were never left lacking. I had cider while my husband had a beer. The menu has a broad selection of items, but we were drawn to the same thing on this visit--the fried walleye. I ordered it with side salad and rice pilaf, while my husband ordered an extra filet and with fries on the side. For an appetizer, we had fried cheese curds, and they were fantastic. Piping hot, squeaky, and crisp. The side salads were nice and fresh. Our main dishes were so very good, too. It was an incredibly satisfying meal and experience.

Enjoying iced tea with Rankin Bass!

Bayside caters to everyone. Makes us feel right at home. Superb food, & great service!!

Castle Danger. Nothing but the best!

Over priced and unremarkable. I hear they make good drinks but they might consider hiring a better cook.

Super good French fries with cheese dip! Not a huge selection of beers though for saying they are a tap house.

This place had mix feelings but on the good and weird side…read more Meaning I don't know if it feels like a restaurant or and antique / boutique shop put together. It's seems to be a lovely joke in the wall cafe made for its grand variety of Tea. They have other foods but I came for the Tea and the tea treats. Tea choice: Bombay Chai-hot Very good more towards the floral note than the spice chai side. Very good. Food: Scones of the day: Blueberry scones- good but feels to soft and cake like a muffin and not the crumbly scone texture I'm used to. The lemon curd side was good and the cream was very basic. Not reall clotted cream hit good enough. Cucumber Tea Sandwiches: Overall the sandwiches were fine but it's not the traditional style with Mayo or white bread. Didn't like the rye bread. Felt like it was too strong of a taste for the cucumber to shine through with its crispy refreshing taste .the rye bread masked with its slight caramel dark burnt taste. Then instead Mayo, they had a cream cheese chives on the spread, I was not a big fan since this not as traditional hence the 3 starts. Overall- a nice homey home comefort feeling of an antique home and cafe put together. Basically it's hue like someone s house turn into a cafe which interestingly makes it feel humble and small town living. Will go back for the tea but food wise- could be better.

THE FOOD!!!!! I…read moreordered through Door Dash to my hotel room so I don't have information about the location... and technically I don't have information about the staff. But I can tell you that whoever determined the menu and keeps everyone on track, and probably everyone at the restaurant put a little love into the place and a lot of love into their coworkers. You CAN taste the difference when people are happy. We went with an order of 3 large shrimp for each of us, and a half chicken and ribs with coleslaw and sweet potatoe fries. The shrimp were incredible! The size! The juiciness, the ability to get every bit of meat out of the tail! Everything about these was everything that I wanted. I couldn't believe that one serving of just 3 was so filling! (I think you would need 6 Red Lobster butterfly shrimp to equal the size of one but you cannot compare the taste as these are peel & eat.) Then I opened the protein box and realized that I had made the embarrassing mistake of not ordering a barbecue sauce. Humph. I think that should not have been such an easy mistake to make on their site. Thankfully, both of us like grilled food without dripping sauces and ... OMG ... We were not disappointed in the food! The ribs were like eating a meat candy. They were such a joy to hold the bone and just lightly pull the tender sweet meat off. There was barely any fat. The spice rub brought out the juices from deep inside the meat but only let them sit on the meat and inside the skin. The chicken was amazing! The dark meat practically ran juices down the front of our shirts as we bit into it, the same way that sweet corn does. The white meat was so juicy it was like the typical dark meat that most people achieve on Thanksgiving. Now, the coleslaw was one of the blandest I've tasted but I figured if you do have one of the spicier barbecue sauces you might be using it as a foil. Helping you to calm your mouth's fire down with the dressing. Of course, fries don't travel well and sweet potatoe are no different. But they were absolutely everything I expected. They were delicious!! I am having surgery in April and trying to see how to ship this food to me after that now. ;)

However, in execution I was a bit disappointed. I came with a group of 6, and I ordered the southwest sandwich with brisket. The disappointing thing about seeing the pass with the food in it, is that you can see your food sit. I saw my friends sandwich sitting for a good 10 minutes. It was just a bit slow. The brisket was bland, and was overpowered by the spicy aioli. They also forgot to ring up our to go order which was a bummer. The hotel breakfast across the street had a better smoked meat.

I have to add that my waitress today surprised me! In passing conversation it came up that I was taking myself out for my birthday. When I went to pay for the meal, my waitress told me that someone paid for my dinner. I was shocked and didn't know what to say! I asked her who paid for it, but she tried to play it off as she didn't know. I was very pleasantly surprised by how lovely, considerate and thoughtful it was for her to do that! I know it had to have been her because no one else knew why I was there. She truly doesn't know how much that meant to me and how that act of kindness was appreciated, especially during the current season of my life. I wish I could remember her name, but unfortunately I didn't memorize it quick enough. She didn't give me a receipt that I could look at for it. But I will never forget her or what she did and hope that I am blessed enough to chat with her again! I definitely recommend going to Liberty Restaurant when in Red Wing! You won't be disappointed! Someone told me to try the fish there, so maybe I'll have to return when they have their Friday fish special! And if the management views this review, please know that you have an amazing woman working on your team who is very rare in today's world! Cherish her! I was at the restaurant between 1530-1630. I consider myself a "obsessed foodie " so I was pleased when Cory the chef came out of the kitchen and walked around the dining room. We were having a cocktail at the bar so we waved him over to ask what he recommended . I took his advice and ordered the scallops. They were cooked perfectly. Very tender and paired really well with the roasted corn and bacon. The whipped feta was very cold, which was interesting, but the flavor was tangy so it offset the richness of the bacon and scallops. The beef tenderloin was delicious cooked perfect medium rare. The broccolini was a little tough and the blue cheese sauce could have been a little thicker. It was kind of runny. I will be back to try more items on the menu. Excited the restaurant is open again.

The waitress had no idea that u get a muffin or pancakes with the meal which could have been because she was new. I ordered an omelet with pancakes. The thermos of coffee we were given had not been cleaned for some time or had the salt shaker. The food was slow to be delivered to us. I neglected to get a photo of our omelettes which were put on our plates with cheese sauce doused over them. I had to ask for pancake syrup a couple times when our food was brought before our waitress finally got that she needed to bring that to our table yet. As I completed my meal, the waitress finally returned asking if everything was okay as she put the bill on the table- if things weren't okay- it was too late to correct it. I had to ask her to bring my wife's muffin which she finally did. We have been eating these omelettes for several decades and these had to be about the worst we have ever had. The service we received today was almost nonexistent- took the order and barely brought what we ordered as we had to ask numerous times to get what we ordered. I used the men's room and saw that it was filthy. Needed a good cleaning of the floors and toilets. From our overall experience, we will not be back.
