Our party of six found a table and seated ourselves. the place was busy but we saw 4 waitstaff moving about, We sat for 15 minutes, then one of our party approached the bar and ask a waitress for menus. we sat for another 30 minutes and finally left. I made a dinner reservation days in advance, explained that we wanted to get to the theater by 7:30. Wanted to make it for 5:45. "No problem," says the voice on the other end of the phone. "But 6:00 should be plenty early." Got to the restaurant and was told, "We can seat you but it'll be at least an hour until you get your food." We were seated and waited until 6:26 pm without seeing a wait staff. Gave up the table, went to McDonald's, and felt like our evening had started out with a HUGE disappointment. Poor food and poor service. No one cleaned our table, so we had to find a wash cloth and clean it ourself. We waited over 1 hour and 30 minutes for food after placing our order. Had to ask our waitress how much longer it would be after watching several other tables get their food long before us when they had been seated several minutes after us. Our coach took our team here on the way to Rochester. We were pleasantly surprised with the savory bar food that this tavern offers. Our burgers were flawlessly cooked to perfection that provided a piquant juicy middle to the paddy. As for the pizza, it is the size of replacement tire and served with an entire bag of chips plus half a salad on top; this is quite a feat for an ambitiously-average pizza. The deep fried chicken dinner consisted of an entire chicken... beak, breast, and calories. The steak was bland and insipid. The tater tot's were S-tier but the fried pickles came out flimsy & unpalatable. We suggest that this restaurant be added to the journey if ones headed down to Rochester and only if one is looking for burgers or salmon. read more

Excellent salad!! Hubby and I both had salad but the other foods going by us looked really good too. We had peach pie for dessert and it was amazing!! Only negative was that there was only one server on duty at 5 pm on a Sunday afternoon. Right after the Vikings game. The place was packed! She did a great job!!!! read more

Stopped in on our way to Minneapolis from St Louis for lunch. Great food. We had the steak salad and buffalo chicken salad. Both were excellent. This place is very pleasant. Service was excellent. Super cute place, has a restaurant and a bar. Our group sat in the bar where you can get the full menu. Everyone in our group got a wrap. Delicious. All four of us got a different one, all good. Every six months or so, my husband and I feel like eating in Zumbrota and not going to fast food. So far it has always been a mistake. Tonight we went to Covered Bridge again, and again were disappointed. It took 10 minutes to get a menu; over 20 to get our drinks. This time he ordered a cheeseburger, tater tots, and a side salad; I got the grilled cheese sandwich and the side salad. The grilled cheese was acceptable, as were the tots. The salads had a large proportion of brown and wilted lettuce--not too bad, but not appetizing either. My husband's burger just didn't taste good, and how do you make a bad burger? I don't know, but they did. We will not be going back until we, once again, forget the lesson we've learned tonight. read more

Stopped here with a friend around 7pm on a Tuesday night. There was an average amount of people sitting at tables and only one patron at the bar. The waitress was very nice and my food was hot (burger and tots). My only complaint is that it took an hour for our food to arrive and my burger patty tasted like it came out of a vending machine. For my burger/tots and a soda, I paid $15. I expected a bit better. I've only been here once before and similar experience- very long wait times for your meal. The bonus is they have free popcorn and my waitress was great at refilling our sodas. I live in Minneapolis and this place is right off the highway and easy to find. My wife and I stopped in on Friday and had the fish fry. One of the best I've had in a long time. Very reasonable and good service.

Food was "so so", fries where cold and I could tell that that used the same fryer as they use for fish. Probably had a fish fry on Friday night. Cold fish flavored fry's. Yumm. Our second time eating takeout from Covered Bridge and the food was not edible. The Walleye and fries and fiery chicken were very clearly re-heated in a microwave because the order was were soggy and spongy and limp. The jalepeno poppers were fine so we were confused on why the rest of the food was so terrible and called to try and get a refund since it was so bad we couldn't eat it. The first call was odd because I asked for a manager and the bartender/waitress answered that the manager was not there. Why wouldn't a restaurant have a manager present at all times? So I declined to leave a message and said I would call back. I tried again about 5-10 minutes later and I explained to the bartender that we were unhappy with the food. She proceeded to argue with me in a rude tone stating that it was our fault for not picking up the food promptly. It was only 19 minutes after we placed the order that it was picked up. The chicken was cold but the fish and fries were warm (just soggy) and the poppers were very warm and crisp. So clearly it wasn't an issue of just picking up the food late. She then said that the manager was suddenly back and I could speak with her about it. I get on the phone with the manager and she continues arguing with me over the issue in a rude tone of voice just like the bartender. I even told her I was shocked that as a manager she was not trying to make the issue right with us as customers. FINALLY she agreed to refund half our order if we came back and after I said thank you she hung up on me. My fiance went to get the refund and asked for the manager and again she was suddenly gone (this was 5 minutes later) but the bartender handed us $15 in cash for a $37 order and walked away without saying anything else. I will never eat here again to say the least and if you plan on eating here, don't do takeout. read more

The deep fried pickles had almost no batter on them and were marginal at best. The cheese curds were edible but barely average.
