I am a huge fan of eating at Dans bar ! I get so excited every time we come here I never have enough time to think of taking a photo of my food when it comes out. Here's some photos of the rare occasions u have remembered. Even though Dans is always busy the staff never fails to be friendly and tentative. I love that they have such a large patio with some coverage and plenty of room inside as well. My favorite drink is there Mama Ds Marg I must say! DELICIOUS!! Stuffed burgers were absolutely delicious! Dan's is a great go-to if you're looking for a laid-back dive bar with good bar food. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! They also offer igloo dining, which you can reserve ahead, such a fun touch & especially in colder months. The fries cost a few dollars extra, which was a little surprising at first, but honestly, they're worth the upgrade. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon about 3:30. It was over half-full at that point and the servers were bustling! Service was friendly but a bit slow over our visit. We shared the cheese curds appetizer, which was great. For main dishes, my son created a meal by combining the appetizer chicken tenders with a side of fries. It was a LOT of food, and very good. He brought about half the tenders home. I had a chunk of a tender, too, and really enjoyed it. My husband had the southwest burger with tots. The tots were huge, like little barrels! I had the weekend special, a winter grilled cheese. To grab the description from their social media: "Brie, bacon, apples, hot honey, and white cheddar on cranberry wild rice bread." We stopped in to Dan's Bar and Grill for a quick bite on our way to Rochester. From the outside the restaurant looks unassuming but it is quite big inside with a spacious patio and backyard. They have several TV's for sport enthusiasts and a nice bar. We chose to sit at the bar with Scott and a nice woman (I didn't catch her name) who served us. Both were very nice, efficient and never left us waiting for service. I ordered a lettuce wrap burger with coleslaw for a side. The burger was thin and griddle cooked. I usually prefer a much thicker burger where I can order a medium temperature but I will say despite being thin, it was very tasty. The coleslaw is made with a house made vinaigrette dressing which was very good. My husband ordered the buffalo wings. The wings were a nice size. The buffalo sauce was tasty and they were pretty crispy although could have been a little more crispy than they were served. The wings were served with blue cheese dressing which was delicious. I believe they make all the dressings in house. We also met one of the owners, Dave. Dave was very cordial and friendly to us and also several of the customers who walked into the restaurant. You could tell this is a regulars spot. Everyone appeared to know each other and were nice people. If you are traveling on the 52 between the Twin Cities and Rochester, stop at Dan's for a bite to eat. You won't be disappointed. read more

It is about time I leave a review for Dan's Bar. This is not only the best burger joint I have eaten at since moving to the area, it is also grilling some of the best burgers I have ever had in my life. It truly is that good, and it is shockingly affordable for the quality and portions they serve. I believe the regular burgers + chips are $11.75 and the stuffed burgers + chips are $13.75, which in 2024 are superb if you ask me. There is a variety of burger options, including unique stuffed patties. I have had the pickle rollup and the pit master, both were delectable and I do not see myself deviating from those two in future visits. This is an amazing gem that is worth the drive! I love the friendly service that makes you feel right at home. There is a spacious dining area and open room that is shared with the bar. Gouda stuffed burger smothered in beer cheeses sauce, on a pretzel bun... added bacon mushrooms, and caramelized onions... and upgraded from chips to house cut fries. Also delicious! Holy shit this burger was AMAZING.... I don't think I've ever had a better one!!! Seriously you gotta try this!!!! Asked for flavored tea, and they only had unsweetened tea, so they special made me a strawberry tea, and that was amazing as well!!! Service was awesome. I've driven past here so many times and never stopped in. We did a family dinner here on a Thursday night and the place was packed! They're right about calling ahead for a table or reserving a spot online. Even with how busy it was we were seated right away and our server was so friendly. Food came out fast and AMAZING! We stopped here today on our fish fry tour. Dan's made a couple of lists for a recommended fish fry, it ranked at the bottom of our list. We arrived around 3:40 and we were able to reserve a table, that was nice. The server was quick to get to our table. We ordered a couple beers and ordered our fish fry. With the fish fry you get a soup or salad, bread and your choice of fries or a baked potato. We got a mini loaf of bread but were without butter. I didn't want to fill up on bread anyway so I didn't bother to ask. The plate came with 4 pieces of fish and we chose fries. The fish was not flaky, it was actually chewy. I could tell my husband wasn't impressed because he drowned it in tartar sauce. We did appreciate the big bottle of tartar sauce on the table, other places gave us a little cup. In conclusion, skip Dan's and go to the Trophy House across the street for fish fry, they had been voted the best. read more
