I was in the area and this place was recommended. I came here open minded, and all I know was I had my eyes on the pretzel. I tried my luck at pull tabs to no avail - bummer. Onto the food, we tried mushrooms, cheese curds, and the coveted pretzel. The mushrooms were good, but I've had better. They needed some seasoning or salt for sure; however, the horseradish sauce served with it was bomb. The curds lived up to WI's reputation and their ranch is delicious. The pretzel itself was good and salty just how I like it but that kitchen staff send out broth water as cheese and some nasty mayo and called it mustard. Nope! Skip those awful sauces. Sneak in your own cheese. It's worth mentioning our server's crotchety lackluster service. We weren't given a greeting or even a smile the entire time. Could have been she's having a bad day, but was an awful experience. I would go back if someone wanted to, but I'd wait longer to get a different server.

Visiting from Minnesota! This was my first time here. I ordered a wrap and it was fresh and tasty. The fries were not greasy and the ranch tasted home made. The music was a good volume and my server was great!

I've been to Philander's a handful of times the last few years. This past Saturday my bestie and I were in the area and needed some grub. We indulged in a few different appetizers because we just couldn't decide what sounded the best besides three different ones. Let's just say our eyes were much bigger than our appetites after all. We had the mushrooms, pretzel, and cheese curds. Mushrooms were very good. The horseradish sauce served with it was excellent.... Compliments it well. Cheese curds.., can't really go wrong. The pretzel itself was soft and tasty. The cheese sauce and mustard served with it was absolutely AWFUL! The cheese was so runny like soup broth and the mustard tasted like a mayo-ish..... definitely did not taste like a mustard. I'd pass on the dipping sauces with the pretzel. The restaurant is pretty hidden. Next to a motel and gas station. Inside is decorated country like... Up north vibe. They have pull tabs in the machine and a few slot machines. Nice size bar area. Good amount of seating indoors and outdoors. Lots of packer pride. Now for the service-- terrible. By far the worst service I've ever received here and I'm disappointed because it was my bestie's first time here. Next time, I'll have one of the burgers and may try the shrimp appetizer. Lastly, I really hope I receive a better waitress who wants to be at work.

The food was good and the staff were friendly. Kind a small menu, but well done. The bloodies looked amazing.

There was a 45-minute wait for a table for two but we snagged a couple spots at the bar and sat down right away. The bartender/waitress was a pure delight. Despite how crazy busy it was, she was pleasant and helpful and efficient. (I'm sorry I can't remember her name.) And they were offering free mimosas to all the ladies which was a nice bonus. Hubby and I both ordered the eggs Benedict with a side of hashbrowns. Everything was perfectly cooked and we were delighted with the crispy hash browns Strangely, we find crispy, perfectly cooked hashbrowns very rarely. And we have breakfast out fairly often. This restaurant nailed it! The prices are very reasonable, and the service was great. Highly recommend!

While I only had the Hangover Hash for years - absolutely perfect breakfast - I started trying other items off the menu. The Hot Mother Clucker and Three Little Pigs are phenomenal. But, the best of all and the best in the Twin Cities is the Biscuits & Gravy. Hanisch Bakery biscuits and the absolutely best and perfect sausage gravy easily beats every other B&G in the metro and dare I say it, in the entire country. It has taken a slide since the original co-owner passed away then sold. The current staff is friendly and provides great service. Food? They are cutting corners. Example: Prime rib served with woody, thick asparagus stalks (no tips). prime was decent /-not amazing like it used to be. Walleye, not fresh. Mushy. Fish tasting. Signature coleslaw with large cabbage butts and ends. Not the thinly sliced l, carefully sauced salad that was served years ago. I like the staff here and want to see the place succeed. That's why I keep coming. I hope the food quality improves.

I ordered an Arnold Palmer thinking they had regular unsweetened ice tea + lemonade instead I could tell they used the canned brisk ice tea with the AP. No bueno! Then I was excited they have some gfree options so I ordered the Rueben with fries...it was okay but nothing spectacular or unique. Hubby and FIL weren't too crazy about the coleslaw with their meals. Other than my son's favorite thing which was the trains passing by on the bridge - that was our fav part of this restaurant.

The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate.
