The Bayshore Mall is alright but hardly a mall. There are not a lot of stores and I personally mostly go there for Walmart but in my opinion that's a stand alone store and I wouldn't consider that part of the mall. Overall it's alright but decently needs more store inside. read more

Sadly this mall is hurting and has 30% of the store empty and vacant. What store are open aren't that pleasing. Several stores are basically swap meet type stores selling knock if brands or trinkets. The mall has one restroom location by the food court and nothing else. I predict this place to be closed within a year. read more

This mall went from being great, to terrible, to slowly improving again...As a Humboldt native, I'm happy just to have SOMETHING. The mall was GREAT when we had JC Penny, Gottschalks, Sweet River...those were the days... The entire end down by Kohl's is empty and pathetic though. I'd absolutely LOVE to see another department store come in or more options for plus sizes - Macy's would be so fantastic to have. Coos Bay has one, I feel like we need one too! I always get what I need and usually more. Haha. I live half way between Santa Rosa and Eureka and I prefer shopping in Eureka. For one thing the drive is incomparable, dead grass, traffic, or the most beautiful scenery in the world. There is a store not in Eureka that advertises " if we don't have it you don't need it" that's Eureka. read more

Walking through the Bayshore Mall feels a lot like walking through a ghost town. There are very few quality stores. The end of the mall that houses Kohl's has a large stretch of nothing but empty storefronts. It seems that anytime we get something new and exciting, it doesn't always last. Highlights are Ulta Beauty and TJ Maxx. Other than frequenting the two aforementioned stores, I have resorted to predominately doing all my shopping online, as the mall is always a disappointment on the retail front. read more

Ok, so maybe the Bayshore Mall isn't the fanciest mall around. But I don't get the reviewers that say it is dirty, it is definitly not. The housekeepping staff works hard to keep it clean. The maintenance staff does they best they can to keep it in as good repair as they can. Give them a break, the place is about 25 years old. The corporation that runs this mall, General Growth Properties, is the one that ties the hands of the local mall management and prevents them from making much needed improvements. You have complaints, go to the corporate site and let them know! If all the out of towners want to do is whine about how it does not meet their ridiculous standards for a "hang out place", they can just go home and "hang out" in their own malls. This mall employs 1600 local people, including some fly by night college students. In an econmically depressed area, that is saying something. There are a few really good local stores in this mall, Schatzi's, Irv's Big and Tall, Bounce-A-Palooza, Toy Barn, Just a Buck, Gianni's, Humboldt Clothing, Tax Preperation, Coast Central Credit Union, Sweet Temptations, along with the big chain stores. Even the Food Court has two local eateries in it, Los Gallos and Nona's Ice Cream. All I can say to the non locals is, take off your blinders and look at the bigger picture and truly see the good in things. This mall is not the evil corporate behemoth that it is often portrayed. And as for the oft used "Post Apocalyptic" description, please get a dictionary and learn the definition of this phrase. Ugh, trendy bull***t speak is so beyond ridiculous. read more

I've been here many times since I was a kid and there's no stores I would ever shop at here and everybody in the town wear's hippie clothes anyways so I guess they'll never have a good place to shop come around this joint. read more

This mall has a few good play areas for families with small children. Unfortunately, their is only one set of restrooms available and they are tucked away in the far corner of the food court. Once you get there, the "family restrooms" are a bad joke on anyone actually hoping to use them. Two locked rooms marked "out of order" and a third door labeled "private nursing room" with a second sign that says you will need to locate a food court employee in order to open the door. Wow... how long do you think children can hold it?? Is there a toilet in the "nursing room"?? They have even removed the bench that was formerly available. If you need a toothbrush or tampon or want to pay to weigh yourself, there's a machine for that, but not a single paper towel next to the changing station. There seems little reason to walk all the way to the restrooms if you need to change a diaper. A real family restroom located near the play area would be a great improvement. read more

The mall is pathetic at best. Be careful going into the restrooms, there have been several restroom robberies here over the past couple years. Some of that last great stores and services here are Kohls, Pet co, Bed bath and Beyond, Ross, Sears, Sear auto Center, Master cuts, Game Stop, Hot Topic, and Spencer's. There is also a cheap import store in case you need an $18.99 massive duffle bag that could hide an obese body, a sword, or other random swap meet style goods. read more

Mall sucks now. The new owners are trying to make it look like a modern mall, but their attempts are cheap and half hearted. The addition of Walmart has also made the whole place less friendly to local businesses and more attractive to the tweaker crowd. read more

WOW! What a sad mess this mall is. After being away for 7 years, half the mall is closed and there is now a Wal-mart. Its insane to think there is a Wal-mart in Eureka. This mall has been home to a dollar store and is currently the only mall I've ever seen a Walmart in. Need I say more.. Having a Walmart speaks volumes as to how high end this place is cough-cough. That aside they at least have a Kohls, Pier1 and Bed Bath and Beyond. Overall it's a pretty rundown 70-80's looking overpriced old mall. read more

Weird folks (locals with mental issues) walking around, employees that just don't give a flyin' ass about you (hey I should know.. I worked here when I was going to HSU.. easiest job ever and I would hardly be at the shop and always on a break) Ahhh... they did have great sales here though.. only because they couldn't move merchandise fast enough.. score on gap goodies! yay... What we found was a run down shopping center with an anti-customer WalMart staff and facilities which were not ADA compliant. I was on crutches, and the automatic operation feature did not work. It was quite a challenge to force open a heavy door while on crutches. I can imagine needing anything again so badly that I would go back. I can think of lots of reasons to stay away. read more

Minus three stars for being full of people from Eureka. Two stars for having a toy store where no one gives a fuck and always has hard-to-find shit on sale because everyone thinks its "weird"! But it's basically the ONLY place within a few hundred miles to buy anything that the rest of the country knows about...Hot Topic, Borders, Gap, etc. Everything else in here is pretty shitty. read more

Its getting a bit better. Definitely not your average city mall. I always find what I need there so I guess its not half bad! Happy TJ Maxx is there although it is very small. Sports Authority is pretty cool a bit pricey but I always find bargains. The best part is the Mexican food in the food court! Probably the best mexican in Eureka! Most authentic and isnt geared toward please us honky americans. They have buche, lengua and cabeza thats pretty hard to find around here! read more

Two stars is generous for this mall. Not many stores, it was like a ghost town inside! But for the area it's not bad. If your a college student it has poor hangout potential, but the necessities are there and prices are cheaper then smaller ma and pa stores! read more

In the last couple of years, this mall has made a huge turnaround. At one point, stores were closing down left and right, but in response there's been a lot of remodeling and a surplus of new stores to shop at. Definitely a plus to have multiple tvs playing and charging stations scattered throughout. And if you have kids, the Tilt arcade is actually an arcade again. Overall, I like the direction the Bayshore Mall is going and am pleased to hear a Planet Fitness is being opened in 2015. read more

I love coming to the mall the shops are great but today I got to see the dark underside of the mall. Walking through the eatery I noticed the floor was filthy with food and yes there was a janitor there but it was a very sad sight the brown haired young man was more intristed in flirting with the young ladies instead of doing his job. Since we've recently moved to crescent city.. This was the closest mall, which is two hours away from us. After months of not stepping foot into a mall we finally took the drive so we can go shopping at a "normal mall". Of course we were way disappointed. Walmart, Ross, ulta, footlocker all face the front street and there's an empty hallway in the back of all the stores that connects them all and they're calling it a mall. Half of the "building" was all closed down or out of stock of everything. We don't plan on going back there again lol. read more

Like most malls, it doesn't seem to be doing too well. Modest selection of stores, with a few that I like, but overall disappointing.

This mall is all we have and adding walmart I think helped out alot. We obviously need more stores, but it is what it is. I went to subway today and it was good, the girl who made my sandwich wasn't very nice but she did a great job on my sandwich. It was 709 and my grandma ate at the Chinese gourmet express, and they had little to no food, and said we are almost closed. Even though I know they close at 8. Grandma wasn't treated very nice and and her food was pretty bad. I don't recommend that place! Parking is always good, the hours blow though. read more

I love this place! I visited Humboldt County in 2010, and visited this mall with a friend. We ate at Hometown Buffet (and I'm so sad to read it is now closed! Sad! Sad! Sad!) I'm disappointed about the developments that have brought about some decline (and also to read that Wal-Mart moved in! I'm a Kmart shopper and had loved that Humboldt had only Kmarts and no Wal-Marts). Still, though, this mall speaks my language! I'm a hippie at heart, and an eccentrc very obviously, so the environment in this mall really brings that out of me! I hope things turn around. read more

Considering our rural location and small population, we are incredibly lucky to have the Bayshore Mall and all of it's businesses. I came up here in 1980 from Southern CA and was stunned when I went to the Eureka Mall for the first time with Sears on one end, a Payless Drugs on the other end, and a bunch of stores in between that sold old ladies' clothing; no Bayshore Mall, no Costco, no K-Mart, and no Target in town yet. I have used almost every business from one end of the Bayshore Mall to the other. I am extremely grateful to all business owners who help us improve our quality of life up here behind the Redwood Curtain. I will never live in a big city again even if the shopping is 10x better. read more

The loss of Gottchalks really killed this mall by taking away the only half-way upscale store it had. And then to replace it with a Walmart is a bad joke and just lowers the clientele further. The loss of Borders hurts too. The outside stores, Petco, BB&B, Pier 1, sometimes Kohl's are the only reason to come here anymore. They might as well close the inside. I'm from Sacramento and have been living up here for 3 years. It is not as fast paced, big or packed as the big city malls. However that can be a good thing. The experience is much more quiet and relaxed than a big city mall! I enjoy shopping here! read more

I'm from Los Angeles, with our mega malls. This mall was quaint, had some locally owned businesses, which was really nice. It was clean. Its the only mall in the area, so if you don't like it, you won't be going to a mall at all. I'm giving it 4 stars because I think its appropriate for the size and location of the town its in. read more

Mexican food at the Bayshore Mall is the best Mexican food in the area. The only other Mexican food I could compare is Pachanga's.

I give it 3 only because the mall has very few stores really. It's clean not crowded,the stores that are there are fine would be great to have a better selection but am sure high rents keep business out. Nice little playground for kids, definitely room for more stores though. read more

The mall itself isn't anything special for a business occupying so much real estate. The place is constantly patrolled by storm trooper-style security that profiles poorer-looking customers. The rent-a-cops constantly patrol the perimeter of the property with lights flashing day and night. I had just arrived in town and drove into an adjacent parking lot with signs telling me that area was NOT for mall shopping but for viewing and enjoying the city-owned Palco Marsh. I was eating a sandwich and watching the wildlife when I was approached by a security officer in a patrol vehicle who questioned my presence and told me that parking area was private property owned by Bayshore Mall and I would have to leave. She was dumbfounded when I pointed to the signs that read it was not for mall use but for city recreation only. The signs indicated it was property owned by the city of Eureka. Bayshore Mall refuses to remove those signs which welcome visitors. And Bayshore Mall security makes one feel he's in occupied territory. I never get hassled at any other shopping center in Eureka, a small town full of awesome people. read more

Ever since General Growth bought the mall, it's been in a state of decay. From what I hear, they hiked up the rent and businesses couldn't keep up. Borders used to be the big draw, but since they've closed, the only reason for me to go is Pier 1 Imports and occasionally Kohls, Kay's Jewelers, or Bed, Bath & Beyond. Otherwise...dismal. Half of the stores are vacant and now that Wal-Mart has come in, as another commenter mentioned, it does seem more like a sad flea market. I think it's great if local stores are moving in, but from what I've heard, most of the local businesses are either short-lived or eventually move to less expensive locations. read more
