We stopped by this mall while charging our EV at the Electrify America station in the parking lot. It's been a long time since we've visited a mall, and honestly, it was kind of sad to see how few stores remain. This was just a few days after Christmas, and there were only a handful of shoppers--mostly in Ulta. The bathrooms were in disrepair, with most sinks and stalls closed, which was disappointing. While the mall itself was generally clean and in decent condition, the food court was very bare and overpriced. The few stores that were still open looked like they were barely hanging on. I used to enjoy walking around malls and shopping, so it's sad to see this decline. The mall management really needs to lower lease rates to attract more businesses and bring back foot traffic. I suspect they're charging exorbitant rates based on location, but that strategy seems to be driving existing businesses away. read more

This place has gone WAY down hill. Went there over the years when I come here, shops that were once open, and full of people are long gone. There about 8-10 stores still there. Went yesterday, only a handful were open. The food court once bustling is now down to 1 or 2 places and deserted. Not even worth going anymore. read more

This mall is dead now. There is literally nothing there anymore. It's not at all like it used to be. The time as really come to it being a walking dead area. just saying. lease fees are like jack high so stores aint making enough to stay open and pay employees as well as the rent fees there. it's just sad. kids nowadays will never get to experience it the way it used to be. This Mall is Amazing! Love the vintage layout from the 80s! Great place to walk around with your kids, friends, or family on a rainy or boring day! From Getting your ears pierced at Claire's - to getting a new style at the good selection of stores they have to offer! Some stores Value is a little high but who ever said you couldn't treat yourself once in a while right? Mall management has completely destroyed the place. I worked in the mall for several years between different stores. I was friends with employees from several other stores, and I even remember once when I was planning to leave my current store and was applying elsewhere, a manager from a store I didn't even shop at offered me a position. Management was openly racist toward the Burger King owners while also refusing to hold up their end of the contract regarding maintenance, Foot Locker had a roof leak for years that damaged multiple $150+ pairs of shoes and the concrete floor in the stockroom had a huge crack from the big earthquake many years ago, The Children's Place had a leak in the roof over the storage loft. Now there's barely anything left. You can no longer access Walmart OR TJ Maxx from inside the mall, there's basically no food court left (just the Food Poisoning Express, the Taqueria, and the fruit place). When I moved away six years ago, the mall still got packed during the holidays. Now it's just sad. Even the permanent kiosks are gone. Sunglass Hut and that one jewelry place. Y'all need to fix the mall. Lower the rents, get businesses back in there. Replace the management with someone competent. Edit: I just read through some other reviews and saw that someone else also apparently called the one place the Food Poisoning Express thank goodness I'm not alone here! This mall needs resuscitation! We thought we'd stop by and pass some time by "hanging out" at the mall since we had an hour or so to spare until our movie at the Broadway Cinema. We parked on the Ross Dress for Less side. At the bus stop were some transients, one approached us asking for spare change. It was around 7:00p on a Saturday evening. There were a number of stores that appeared to close early probably due to staffing shortages and some stores permanently closed -- security gates down, covered over and/or signs removed. A handful of shoppers... the mall was like a ghost town. Kinda sad to see. We could barely stay longer and left after half an hour. Anchor stores include Walmart and Kohl's. One of the main anchor store space was vacant -- the former Sears. My first time ever seeing a DMV office inside any mall. I stopped by Mrs Fields Cookies. Their cookies are consistently good. They had a special and I got the chocolate chip for 3/$7.75 If you thought the malls were empty before the coronavirus hit, take a walk through one now. For sure it's hard times. This mall lacks a lot by comparison to pretty much any city, town or metro area of its size. I really do not do "malls" my personal belief is that they are a part of the problem and a reason for the closing of so many mom and pop independent shops and stores all across our nation over the past 40 years give or take. That being said, its just another mass consumer hell. The few stores here are always crowded with "bargain hunters" and the mentality that the environment produces. If it were not for sheer necessity I would not be shopping here. The parking is ridiculous, the transient population that skirts the perimeter of the property is sketchy at best, the large amount of empty spaces inside just goes to show its overall demise. Ok... so I'm trying not to be TOO judgmental. But, growing up in the SF Bay Area, and there being access to many malls and shopping options, this mall is a little sad in comparison. While there are some of the usual mall-rat brand stores here, the main anchor stores are stores that I'm used to finding as standalone stores or as an anchor in a strip mall/outdoor shopping. So it's not the most extravagant mall by any means. Though, that being said when I was visiting the area, I was able to cop just about everything I needed while I was there. So from a "was I able to get what I needed" standpoint. Bueno. Hands down met the need. From an urban-options standpoint it's lacking. And unfortunately it feels like the mall hasn't been updated since the 80s so it was definitely giving me some youngster throwback vibes when I saw the Santa in the middle of the mall with the lackluster decorations. Allllllllll that being said. I've lived in small towns now for the past 8 years or so... where we have had NO malls, so from a local perspective... this place is a god-send if you're trying to browse and find one spot to get everything you might need. This mall could really use a make over for the stores inside it. I wouldn't even call this a mall it's more of a shopping center that happens to be connected by an indoor walk way. I wish it had nicer stores. Most of the larger stores I would definitely count as stand alone stores that don't belong in a mall such as: Walmart, Kohl's, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Ross. I used to love this mall so much. But it's gone downhill. There's three places left in the food court. The Food Poisoning Express, Los Gallitos, and the ridiculously overpriced coffee joint. Honestly. Ordered a coffee and was somewhat shocked that they didn't come out and take my left kidney in lieu of cash! All the great stores are gone. People are too afraid to shop, so people are being put out of jobs. And security is a joke!! I was visiting a few months ago and carried my tiny dog in with me because I'm training her to respond to my panic and anxiety attacks. I was stopped and told I couldn't have her inside, while a bum let his filthy dog pee on the floor maybe a hundred feet away! I Love bayshore I have been going since I was in a stroller! Ordering a whopper from Burger King then after Going to tilt and spending a few quarters, got bored and went to look at each and every store checked out what's new! I miss when it was all Full of stores but now even big box stores can't afford to be here because they raised the rent to high! I wish they would keep the bathrooms open that have locks in the little waiting room where there use to be benches you can SIT AND WAIT FOR YOUR KID OR PARENTS OR FRIENDS TO COME OUT THE BATHROOM! Now you just have to stand awkwardly! They for sure need to remodel it and lower rent prices for the stores we love and enjoy to be here. Or just demolish it, build housing and build a new bigger better mall somewhere else near here .. I don't know I'm just ranting because I'm sad to see it all go! I was accused of stealing my by Mall security, They called the police and reviewed the security footage and checked my bags. And It was proven that i indeed did not steal anything. And they refused to apologize. And decided to ban me from the mall because i caused a disturbance. I complied with all of the security procedures but because i was accused. I was banned . Also. It was built in another time. We still had lumber. We still had fishing. More people were living here with money to shop. Just having the one mall- the Eureka Mall (which used to have an open interior and now is just an outdoor strip with Winco, Michaels, etc) was not enough to satisfy demand. So the Bayshore Mall was built, gilded in all kinds of golden accent, and filled with many of the great retail establishments of the time. I remember being dragged there as a child and spending hours there as a teen. It has not fared well today. The combination of nationwide brick-and-mortar retail decline and local economic downturns across the 2000's and 2010's has left the property with vacancies, maintennance issues, and little support for the retailers that remain. There is still plenty to shop, of course, between Kohl's, Ross, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ulta, Petco and many other small stores. Frankly, we are lucky to have it as it is. But the once grand mall lacks the vitality, excitement, and consumeristic wonder it once had. read more

I love this mall! The workers are kind and I always come here with my friends to get boba and go to a few of our fav stores. Sometimes there are weirdos in here that make us uncomfortable but there is almost always guards around or cops which makes me feel a little bit safer. read more

I was fascinated by this mall. It's got a design straight out of the 80s, with shiny gold elements and everything. Half the spaces are empty. I must defend it, though; it might look worn but it was clean. I used the restrooms and they were nice. But what I loved most was the post-apocalyptic feel of the remaining stores. Local businesses set up shop in vacated chains. You can recognize the proprietary design of the Gap or EB in the facade. But they've covered it up or painted it to make it their own. A bank of what might have been four or more stores is now gutted and filled with air bounce machines for Bounce-a-palooza. I only wish my childhood mall had offered such a thing! We live further out in the boonies than this place, so it was nice to be able to browse GameStop, Borders, & Bed Bath & Beyond (I never thought I'd miss a chain store). There are a couple of anchor department stores, too. So if you live in the area and want to try on or see an item in person before you buy (instead of all that online shopping), this place can be convenient. If you don't live in the area, skip it. Why would you come to such a beautiful part of the world to shop in mall? read more

I remember when this mall opened before the turn of the century and to see what it has decayed to is pitiful. Plenty of empty stored and a tweaker haven called a mini-WalMart is one of the anchor stores. They are losing the Sears now. Down at the other end Kohl's looks like Ft. Defiance, surrounded by empty store fronts. The Ross store is homeless central as they sit in front catching the reflected rays (such as it is in Eureka) off the white tiled front. They have cleared out the Land of the Living Dead in the brush behind the mall so the homeless are fewer and the car clouts are a bit less, but I think on line shopping is a super alternative to this mall. The wife just had to see what is like in the Ross so I told her to take my Ruger LPD and keep her head on a swivel. Nothing in a Ross I need. read more

I avoid coming to this mall like the plague. Over the years it's just become sad, almost depressing, to see what it has turned into. I do come to a few stores for certain things but I try to make it a quick trip and get everything I could possibly need from there for the next year. We stopped at Bayshore Mall a couple times in trips to and from the redwoods further north. There's a large fairly empty space between Kohl's and the rest of the stores, but otherwise seems like a decent mall. Beautiful food court, with floor-to-ceiling attractively designed expansive windows. A number of kid-oriented activities in the mall. Quite a coup getting Walmart: I didn't think they are usually found in malls. Seemed like a comfortable, safe place - did not see any evidence of homeless cited elsewhere. Nice, low-key mall to shop, eat at and just hang out in. There's even a fun little play place inside with cool ocean themed climbing statues for kids to crawl around on. My nephews all love to come here and play and it's free. read more

Honestly a decent mall for how absolutely tiny and run down most of this town is. Much cleaner than the rest of the "malls" in this area.

The only mall in Eureka....but...not even crowded?! Possibly because it's about 30% is vacant?! Anyhow...I'm a total girlie girl...so there are stores such as June, Rue 21, Styles for Less, Ulta, Victoria's Secret, TJ Maxx, and Ross for me to stop by. Also, having a Wal Mart is a huge plus. Cons...hmm...not too sure where guys really shop here?! Another thing is that you will find homeless folks asking you for food or money while leaving to and from your car. read more

This mall is turning into a flea market with these weird garage sale looking stores coming in and the addiction of Walmart just made it that more sad. Now PacSun is leaving.... what next? I keep wondering when they are going to add some actual good clothing stores and not just a wet seal with the reject wet seal stuff from other branches and some nice restaurants inside there also. I think the theater is closed and has been for quite awhile so I dunno if this place is on a fast downward spiral or clearing out to make way for something bigger or better. Seriously, I usually don't find anything at most Ross,' but I always find at least 10 things there. Yet another shopping mall in its death throes, fallen victim to the information age. It's pretty quiet inside, and far from crowded. Though there are still one or two anchors left. It's not that I'm even really a fan of Borders, but I'm disappointed that the one place in the county that has a decent variety of affordable new books is going out of business. Aside from that, like other reviewers have said, the place is fairly clean. The deco is straight out of the roaring 80's. Eureka's economy seems to be stuck a decade or two in the past. This is the only town where Blockbuster is still doing passable business. But back to the mall, OMFG they still have a Tilt arcade! I had to walk in for a moment to smell the old carpeting and experience the warm stuffy air as the one bored young attendant wandered aimlessly amongst the unused machines. There is a small food court (small in terms of selection) with Sbarro's, a taqueria, an ice-cream place etc etc. The mall is definitely in the process of dying a slow death, but neurons are still firing and the body of the Bayshore is still kicking and jerking sporadically for the time being. You won't find much in the way of high-end fashion, or high-end anything for that matter, but hey, it's Eureka. There are enough staple retailers for the place to be designated as a "mall" and there you have it. read more

Half the stores are closed, and there is a Mal-mart shoved in there now, other than that I like this place. My bank is here, they have a Ross, an awesome little toy store, a Kohl's, Game Stop, Hot Topic, Spencer's Bed Bath and Beyond, and a Sears. Wish more stores would move in (that aren't Wal-mart). Ok so I used to go here so much as a kid and quite a bit as a teen. Then when I had kids I shopped here a lot as well that was in 2005. Now I barely shop here it's gotten so bad I refuse to even step foot into the place. The stores are boring Tho I only shop and a few selected places like Walmart,Spencer's,Ross bath and body works, bed bath and beyond, Tj maxx and cafe court. Eureka is lucky to have a mall. What is between Ukiah and Eureka? NOTHING. Feel like driving 299 several hours to get to Mt. Shasta Mall? I certainly do not. I believe this mall is getting better, and if given a chance, will get even better with time. It has the essentials that you'd normally have to drive to several strip malls in larger cities to find (Tj Maxx, Ross, Petco, Pier 1, Ulta, Sports Authority). I enjoy the fact it has a Zumiez (popular in Washington), Gamestop, Hot Topic, Spencers, Journeys, Victorias Secret, Bath & Body Works. Many of the stores you'd find in any other mall. My suggestion for additions? Open a Red Robin in the Ex-Hometown Buffet Wing. Add several new stores that cater to both males and females, such as Aeropostale that is affordable in our market or an Express, Hollister for those that like to spend a little more. Just filling in some of the empty spaces towards Kohls would make a bigger difference. Sure, this isn't the Stonestown Galleria. I lived in LA a decade and frequented the Glendale Galleria. But you have to take the population differences into consideration. There's no Nordstrom or Macy's or Dillards here. So what? That's what shopping online is for! read more

I've been visiting Eureka for the last 5 years. I've seen the mall pretty bare boned around 5 years ago. Over the last 5 years, the mall has slowly gained more stores and has been cleaned up a bit. It's nothing special, it has all your average stores, but is unique due to the fact it has a PetCo and Walmart in the mall... the Walmart part is weird and I know many of the locals have disapproved of it coming in. It is nice to see the economy recover and stores come back in. There's a lot of choices over at the food court with new places that have come in within the last year. If you want to avoid crowds, this is a good place to go as there is not much waiting. It's also a great place to go shopping at for Black Friday. I shopped at Kohl's last year and there was hardly anybody there, and I got 60% of a coat! Half of the mall is pretty dead with nothing there. It's a small-town mall, not much else to say about it. I don't know what it is about small-town malls that seem to have all their businesses clumped down at one end of the mall, while the other is a ghost town. I do wish they had more stores and better selections. read more

If you are from a big city, this mall will seem tiny and insignificant in comparison. But it is a mall and has many stores to choose from (like the ones you would find in a bigger mall) for a good shopping experience. I enjoy shopping here mainly because it's not like the mall in the big cities. People come here to shop, not flaunt their bodies or the clothes they are wearing and stare people down. This mall has a place for kids to bounce and play (Bounceapalooza), so it's good for people passing through or touring the area. There is a small toddler play area as well. There is now a Planet Fitness gym with a great monthly rate, the homeless population has been taken care of. Our family always enjoy shopping here. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise. Looked like your local strip mall from the street, well it kind of is! However, we found great deals in this mall during out time in Eureka. Only funk with this place is the stores open a little late by other mall standards. read more

The Bayshore Mall is alright but hardly a mall. There are not a lot of stores and I personally mostly go there for Walmart but in my opinion that's a stand alone store and I wouldn't consider that part of the mall. Overall it's alright but decently needs more store inside. read more
