See photos of what was advertised (stunning unobstructed water views) and what we were welcomed with...complete obstruction of the water and a nice view of a bunch of wood! When asked if we could leave and be refunded, customer service said no and told us there was "a bunch of information" on the listing about the construction nearby, but all this info conveniently left out the location of the new house and its impact on the views of this property. They also said they wouldn't be posting new photos of this property until construction finished, so they can keep gauging people like myself! What a special anniversary trip... People and companies like this are truly despicable. Cannot discourage people enough from staying in any of their properties and supporting this fraud.

The interior is modernized design, it is an open concept that has a queen size bed also a pull out sofa bed in the living area, TV Blu-ray player, a small kitchen, private deck overlooking the bay, bathroom showers, and a shared yard with propane barbecue. is a quaint little spot for two people, and I love that they are dog friendly here they have stuff for dogs to use just in case you forgot your stuff. They have utensils, cups plates, spices, and some teas in their cupboards. In 2017 we use the same company to rent a house property on Gull Dr. That home was a very spacious home. We had our kids with us so it was nice to share it with other people plenty of space, open concept and they also had. It was a four bedroom house and it also had a washer and there were two spaces for parking and they also had a gaming area in the garage. For our 10 year wedding anniversary hubby decided to come back to the place we met and fell in love. But this time around he rented Albatramonto property that's up stairs from the original Tramonto property that we stayed at 11 years ago. This one it was almost identical to the original location we stayed at, but this one had a breakfast nook and two split patios. One patio facing the ocean and the other patio facing the tides wharf. The company was really wonderful. They made us a little heart towel and gave us a bottle of sparkling rose for our anniversary. Just be wary of ants, especially during the winter season just don't keep food out in the open or unsealed. If your ant problem gets really bad, then call the company up and they'll come out and spray. The only complaint we really had was the heater they had didn't warm the place enough and it was really cold. luckily, they had layers of blankets on the bed to keep us warm. The sunset are still amazing to watch from the patio. Parking is a little tight for this property. Brianna was the person we had dealt with, and she had simply been nothing but helpful with the bookings. The nice part about this company is everything is done online via email and to check into your property. You never have to go to the office. You can just show up at the actual vacation home and the key is in the lock box. every time you call them, there's always someone there to pick up the phone and answer any questions that you have. we will definitely be back here again in the near future you can never go wrong with any of the properties. The view is just superb for sunsets.

We stayed in the Seal's unit, which is the largest of the 3. For the price it's tough to beat the location. The cabin sits on piers directly over the bay when the tide is up. You do get a bit of road noise due to the location directly off highway 1, but late at night, the road is not well traveled. The unit is cleaned by tenant's so it's not professionally cleaned. Still, it was not too bad. The unit could benefit from a new bed and perhaps some updated dishware. It would really pop with some new furnishings, but then the price would likely increase. Sitting out in the hot tub on a star filled night makes these issues are little more excusable. We had some outstanding food at Terrapin Creek Cafe and Spud Point Crab Co. If I have time, I may post reviews of these, but they hardly need the pub.

We got to see an amazing sunset from the balcony and seals swimming just offshore. It was nice to have a kitchen to make a simple breakfast. You do need to bring your own linens and towels, but that was not a problem for us. You have to clean the unit before you leave, but it did not take more than an hour. The only negatives for us were the shower was somewhat clogged and we weren't able to enjoy the hot tub because it needed cleaning and was slimy. We booked on extremely short notice, so we can't fault the owner for not having time to check on the unit before our arrival. He was easy to work with and responded very quickly to phone calls. We had hoped to use the available kayak, but ran short on time. If you are not looking for a 5 star, fancy hotel, this is your place. The relaxation factor of having your own space, combined with the reasonable price made this an ideal escape.

She really knows the market and executed on her well-thought-out strategy to close the deal. Rural and coastal properties are tricky to sell. So we needed someone with experience. Thera and her team are knowledgeable of the entire process - from marketing our home, bringing in potential buyers, proactively managing any possible pitfalls, and guiding us through the escrow process. All of our calls and emails were answered promptly, which doesn't happen with all realtors. She made us feel we were her only priority, which I know isn't true:) She has so many beautiful listings on her website. After all her years in real estate, Thera is at the top of her game and we were truly lucky to find her. She covers the entire Sonoma Coast besides Bodega Bay: Jenner to Timber Cove to Sea Ranch. It was such a positive experience that I wanted to write this review. We highly recommend her if you are selling or buying on the Sonoma Coast.

With Thera's help we were able to complete our purchase in less than a month! We have nothing but good words for Thera. I would probably rate this as more of a three and a half stars. We originally found Bodega Bay Best…read moreVaction Rentals by looking at houses on VRBO.com and chose a house that according to their description was minutes from the beach. Once my mother had already confirmed the house by sending in the money and we got the address we saw that it would be quite a walk to the beach and we would have to cross Highway 1 with two small children. She called BBBVR directly and asked just how many minutes the walk would be and was told about 15-20 minutes. My mother asked if they had any houses in our price and size range that were closer. She sent over three options and the first one we chose she wrote back and said that the owners were choosing to stay there and we would have to pick another. Strike two. Finally we settled on Ocean Song, which was only three houses away from Highway 1 with the beach just on the other side. None of the options we were offered were without crossing that very busy road. The house, Ocean Song, was listed as kid and dog friendly. While the house was lovely, with a gorgeous view and the right size for what we needed, I would say that it was more dog than kid friendly. The kitchen was quite small, so they had all of the dishware on a rack on the floor next to the dining bar. This was very tempting for my 22 month old to want to play with. Also they had the supplies for starting a fire in the fireplace, including matches and a metal poker in a basket on the floor. They have two showers and no bathtub, although one shower had a handheld shower head, so we made do to get our kids clean. The house itself is an updated 1970's house with lots of picture windows for viewing the crashing waves below. The bathrooms and kitchen have newer countertops and appliances. The house is eclectically decorated and has all the modern conviences (cable TV, cordless phones and wireless internet). The porch is very pretty, has lots of seating and even has a small firepit. The garage, which is strangely accessed through the master bedroom closet, has a gas grill and a full sized washer and dryer. This would be the perfect house for a family with older or no children who wish to travel with their dog. One thing that slightly grossed us out was that it smelled of dog immediately upon entering and there were obvious spots on the carpet near the front door. We aren't really dog people, so we would probably prefer someplace a little less pet friendly. One note about accessing Portuguese Beach from the house. There is a path directly across from the street the house is on, but it is very steep. If you walk a little down Highway 1 to your left you will come to a path with wooden stairs set into the hillside, which is much easier and safer. However, be careful when you are walking back to the house. Walk to the actual street and don't take any side trails. As we found out one of the trails leads directly into the backyard of the house just across from Ocean Song, but when you try to cross the field you will find a steep gully filled with poison ivy and unless you go back through the neighbor's yard it is a one mile plus walk around the gully back to the house. What should have taken us five minutes ended up taking an hour simply because we were eager to get off the side of Highway 1 and the cars that speed along that expanse. None of the options were fun with small impulsive children. On our second day we just decided to drive to Doran Beach since the waves are smaller and safer for young children anyway.

The inn is located on a busy road, but traffic slows down in the evening. The rooms have a charming beachy feel and are on the smaller side, but that's exactly what we expected after reading reviews. We were only staying one night, so we booked the smallest room. If we return for a longer stay, we'd probably opt for a larger room. That said, if you're in Bodega Bay, hopefully you're spending most of your time exploring rather than sitting in your room! The rooms include mini fridges and a coffee station, and the lobby has a larger coffee and tea station as well as a microwave. Parking is located right outside your room, which makes loading and unloading easy. The location is also very convenient. It's within walking distance of a grocery store that has just about everything you might need, including a deli. The Birds Cafe is right across the street and serves coffee, delicious breakfasts, oysters, lobster rolls, and more - all with fantastic views. Overall, this is a great spot if you're looking for a comfortable stay with incredible views and easy access to everything Bodega Bay has to offer.

Our most recent experience was not great with newer employee (Gina). When we arrived on WED we were happy to get our keys to the Harbor House as it was our first time to stay in this house. We got into the house and we realized it smelled of gas. There was one burner that was taped off with do not use on the tape. It was obvious that the Inn was aware there was a problem, yet this was not taken care of properly prior to our arrival. We returned to the office to inform them with our concerns in the Harbor House. Gina let us know that she has had other guests with the same complaints but she said it had been recently serviced. She said if it made us feel better she could have the handyman come look at it again in the morning. She tried to reach the him, but there was no answer and she had to leave a message. Gina did assure us that the owners daughter had just stayed in the Harbor House with no complaints. We chose to stay the night and have the handyman check the stove in the morning. It was two days before the stove was checked so we were not able to use the heat or stove until Friday evening. The young man who worked on the stove let us know it was leaking gas because it was not fixed correctly. We also had some attitude from Gina when we tried to get 4 wash cloths and more coffee for the coffee maker. We also had to ask for toilet paper twice because we only had 2 spare rolls for 4 adults staying 5 nights (6 days). We should have been offered a discount for the 3 days we were not able to safely use the heater and stove due to the gas leak. We have decided that we will have to move on and find a new place to stay for our yearly vacation to Bodega Bay. I think things would have been handled differently had George or Steve been running the office that week. We are very lucky that the house did not blow up nor did we have poisoning due to the natural gas leak. Keeping all the windows open until it was properly serviced was difficult because it was so cold, but we are still here to share this story. Looking back on this we never should have stayed in the home but I am happy to be alive. We are just disappointed that our trip was not enjoyable and we paid extra to stay in the house when we would have had a better vacation just renting a room without these issues.
