Skip it. Bait and switch. Reserved a unit with specific dimensions. First couldn't find my…read morereservation. Had to show him the email. Couldn't find my info because supposedly my name was reversed. Pretty sure I know how to type in the order of my damn name. Then the guy (Don't know his name. Has a mohawk and tat on the right arm) proceeded to show me a more expensive unit and not the units matching what I reserved. How do I know? He asked me the upselling questions and never showed me the reserved unit and said none of them were available to show until the day of the move-in? Then why have me reserve? Do you think I'm dumb enough to rent a unit I've never seen? They have 2 dollies for the entire building btw. Then he was performing some speech, pumping up the storage building like a sales pitch he just learned in his Management 101 Class. Cut the bullshit. And show me the unit I reserved. I finally had to share with him I've rented for a decade at all different types of storage companies so I already have experience of what makes a good or bad storage company. This guy either needs more training or put in another role. He wasn't receptive to being challenged with feedback. The whole fake salesman persona was offputting. Come to find out this is new management which they should have been upfront about. They've only been here a month. You can tell if you ever have issues with this storage location that they're going to have every excuse. Bottom line is if I reserve a unit online, I expect to be shown a unit that matches that criteria. What a waste of time. And please don't tell me to email your generic customer service email regarding this situation which will most likely go nowhere. But at least, I can warn people to not rent here.

I am very impressed having just moved in to US storage. First of all this facility is in an area…read morethat is absolutely perfect for a storage facility - in a kinda industrial / business area on the cusp of Manhattan Beach and Hawthorn - a place that is nice but doesn't feel like rent is at a super high premium. They have 3 or 4 buildings on the premises and I have never seen it crowded like many other storage places I've used in the past (having to fight for the limited number of carts other places typically have). They have a plentiful supply of medium & large sized carts to expedite moving stuff. I have never yet had a problem parking close to the elevator (in car or truck) in my building which is also super helpful. Another reason I left Public Storage is that I originally started with a good rate, then after 5 months they increased my rent 40% now that I was moved in & most people would rather just pay that than go through all the trouble of moving again so soon. I know that rents get raised but I was assured that I would not be gouged that way here - so I'm looking forward to the "standard" 5-10% increases here but, "to be continued"... Another 5-star element is that they actually have a truck that you can use, free of charge to move in (but you have to fill it back up with gas) which you get for 3-4 hours I believe, but you have to reserve it. I also have to give a special mention to Anna in the office who is awesome and has really gone above & beyond to provide wonderful service - unlike my last experience at Public Storage where I felt like another faceless customer to give them money who they couldn't have cared less about. I really feel that she genuinely cares about me and shows that by going above & beyond providing info about insurance, locks, etc. (things I didn't think to ask about) I was also scheduled to move in on a day and then saw that it was supposed to rain heavily that day so she let me move in a day early at the last minute. I also really appreciate being able to be in my unit until 9:00 pm when all the other storage companies kick you out by 6:00 pm and are more concerned about themselves than what works for their customers who typically work till 6:00 and can't easily make it in till later. Another really nice 5-star touch that I haven't seen anywhere in my 30+ years of using storage facilities and really appreciate is the music that plays in the storage building - This is a really nice touch!! On a side note, you need a cylindrical lock to rent here ($18 purchased here and is about the same price on Amazon) Although I just moved in, they are off to a glowing start compared to all the experience I've had with storage places over the years and I'm looking forward to a long & mutually beneficial relationship here at US storage!

I also was able to make minor adjustments to my booking with a friendly and attentive staff on-site when I arrived. They gave me a quick tour of where my unit was located and provided simple, clear instructions to navigate the facility. The unit / building was clean and was a breeze getting my stuff loaded same day. I also appreciated they don't price gouge the "approved" locks sold in the office and that you get to keep it when you move out. All in all, great experience so far and would highly recommend to anyone in need of some extra storage in the South Bay.

But I never suggested that Rate adjustments are NOT occasionally necessary. So their statement is irrelevant to my complaint. I complained that a 43% increase is outrageous. However, I cannot see their added comment anywhere; so I have no idea what it is.
