I want to start my review by saying we will never be going back to this store. We went by twice this week in the afternoons, both times when it had the sign outside on the sidewalk that said they're open, and a sign taped to the door that said "opens at 9am" but the doors were locked. So we went by today a little after 1:30pm and the store was open. The man who assisted us almost seemed put out that he had to come out of the back room to help and there were no other customers in the store. Zero customer service skills and very short sharp answers. He replaced the battery in our key fob, and since we had tried previously to open the fob at home and couldn't get it done, we asked him how he opened it. All he said was "its on You Tube" There were NO other customers in the store and he can't take a second to show us? He certainly doesn't give off a welcoming feeling nor appear to care about whether customers leave happy or not, as well as the mystery hours of operation. So we will not be giving any more money to this business and will go to businesses that appreciate their patrons. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Terrible diagnostics and worse customer service! I returned a battery I purchased for my Toyota months previously because it wouldn't hold a charge. Batteries Plus kept the battery overnight to charge and test it. They told me the battery was fine. They also tested everything with the battery re-installed and stated the battery was fine so something must be wrong with my Toyota. I took my Toyota to a mechanic and paid $90 to learn my car is fine but a cell in the battery was bad. I took it back to Batteries Plus and a different guy tested it and confirmed the battery was bad. I asked what would be done to compensate me for the $90 I needlessly spent because Batteries Plus misdiagnosed my battery. While I figured they wouldn't reimburse me even though it was their mistake, I expected them to at least say they were sorry and maybe a minimal gesture such as a partial refund/discount on my original purchase or an upgrade on the replacement. I received nothing except a snarky attitude from the old guy helping me and his insistence that the "notes" in his computer says it tested fine. Clearly the original diagnostic was wrong because the same battery subsequently tested bad twice. He also stated he was doing me a favor by replacing the battery. I reminded him that that's what a warranty is all about and he shouldn't suggest I was getting anything special. He brought out a replacement battery that clearly looked as if it had already been in a car or sitting on a back shelf for years. It was dirty and the labels looked old and didn't match my battery. There were no post caps on it and no plastic bag containing the battery exhaust tube adapter that were attached to other batteries on the shelves. When I questioned this he grabbed another battery off the shelf that looked identical to the one I was returning. Initially I thought he was giving me that new battery but then realized he was only taking the tube adapter from it and still planned to give me the dirty, old-looking battery. When I insisted on the new battery, he made a few more snarky comments as he reluctantly gave it to me. I've purchased a number of batteries here, including for golf carts but NEVER AGAIN. I am almost 2 months late on this review but I will NEVER forget how this place completely helped me out on May 4th, 2022! I was at a job about an hour away from my house and my battery died. Apparently my car has a very odd battery set up and even with the manual, none of us could fogure out how to jump start it. I called my insurance for road side, call kept dropping, no help. So I did what every adult woman does when they are desperate and called my mom, who called this location and asked if they happened to have my battery in stock, and also asked if they ever deliver batteries, they said they had the battery and even though delivery is not a usual thing they do, they would be willing to help out. Let me tell you, this was the worst possible time I could have had car trouble, we were set to take a flight across country the next day, and I had all my dad's things in my car to help him move that evening as well. I'm so sad I forgot the young man's name who helped me, replaced my battery, even helped me load and reload my dad's things in my trunk, since, surprise, the battery is in the back of the car. We've been buying batteries for 3 cars here for eleven years. I recently had an issue with a battery still under warranty. I thought it was a bad battery, in fact my car service tech tested it and it failed. I went in to Battery Plus on Hacienda with my receipt and a gentleman came out and tested my battery with an instrument, getting satisfactory readings. The owner was there and came over to talk. He joined his employee in troubleshooting the issue, bringing out a bigger instrument for measuring current. I was very impressed by how much time and care was taken to make sure my car was safe to drive on my trip. A new battery was put in my car and it was suggested I might have a bad alternator, so we'd give it a two week test, with the owner putting my bad battery in his own car to drive and check out. I'm going to get my alternator checked and if that's the problem I'll take back the replacement battery. I can't tell you how comforting and pleasant it was to deal with a store that has such superb customer service. I was treated with respect by men with integrity, who were solution-centric. It was almost like the 60's again. I truly appreciate it guys and that's why I'll continue coming to you for all my battery needs! read more

Needed a new battery 10/6 for my iPhone 6s. Researched around and it seemed that this place had the best deal. Especially when you could make a reservation and receive 10% off. That all was fine. But once I arrived at the store, that was a different deal. The gal that worked the counter (Kimberly) had absolute zero personality or customer service. No greeting no small talk. She acted like she was doing me a favor. Not one word to me during the transaction other than "sign here!" When I arrived back 45 minutes later, to pick up my phone, still had nothing to say other than it's done. We concluded the transaction she handed me the receipt and didn't even say thank you or smile. Having been in business for a lot of years, this person should not be on the front line. I went to Batteries Plus in Vista, California, on February 16, for a lawn tractor battery. While they had one in stock, it was about four months old. Since it's better to buy a fresh battery, I asked if they had a fresh one. He offered to order one. With that I asked if the 18% discount being offered by Batteries Plus until February 18 would apply to my order. He then said that offered had expired and would only give a five precent discount. His style was was abrasive and he seemed to lecture me. Although I previously had a good experience with this business, this interaction was unpleasant at best. My dog, Joey, wears a little electronic collar that allows him to go in and out of the house by opening his dog door with an electronic signal. The collar is small and it's not easy getting the little battery in and out. I always go to this Batteries Plus store because they take as much care and give as much attention to a little $3 sale as they do to a bigger sale. The guys there always put in the battery for me, while Joey waits patiently. They have everything in this store, and because they help me with the dog collar, I buy all my batteries here. Had to update my previous 5-star review. My wife and I came to Batteries Plus with six watches we needed the batteries replaced on. A couple of years ago, I would have paid $4.33 per watch (discounted from $7 because of the number of watches) which was a great deal. Today, I found out the price jumped to almost $12 per watch. Bummer. I only had two watches fixed. Six watches would have cost $80. I've now purchased a watch repair kit off Amazon for $15 and will do it myself from now on. I'm sure I would've given them a better review if they actually performed the service that I needed. I made an appointment at least 48 hours prior to when I came in. I needed my iPhone 6S+ camera replaced. The person that I scheduled my appointment with told me that they would have to ship my camera part in from the sister store in Temecula but it would be easy to get because they can ship it overnight. The morning I got there, I was there for my SCHEDULED appointment time and I still didn't have priority over the 5 walk-in people that were in line that asked questions that required long answers or for the staff to go out and look at their car battery, etc. I waited 20 minutes even though I was on time. Just so that I could do more paperwork and check in w/ one of the staff members and then have her tell me that the sister Temecula store shipped over THE WRONG PART. She said that they had shipped over an iPhone 7 camera part and that it wouldn't fit what I needed fixed. Obviously. I just don't think that I have to wait so long when I clearly had priority over the people that just walked in. Today was the first time I have ever visited this store before, and it was the absolute best and most easy experience I have ever had when trying to find something I needed to buy. I went into the store at around noon or 12:30 PM, and an absolutely wonderful older lady with short hair and her ears pierced provided the best customer service ever. Unfortunately, I do not remember her name, but she was the only lady working at the time so I hope management sees this and shows some appreciation to her. Prior to coming to the store I went to two other battery stores to try to find a pretty rare battery for a very old key fob, and the other two stores I went to had no idea what they were doing as they suggested I just go on Amazon and look it up myself to buy. When I arrived at this location I was immediately greeted with a big smile when I walked in and the lady who helped me was very friendly and personable. She knew exactly which battery I needed and she even explained the difference between some other very similar batteries that I almost purchased by mistake earlier in the day. I was having a hard time getting the key Farb open due to rust from it being sold and this wonderful employee pulled me to the side and helped me get it open very gently and change the battery. If management/the owners see this, this lady deserves recognition and a raise!! I have shopped here for batteries and light bulbs in the past, when we lived closer. Today I needed a battery for my John Deere lawn tractor, and the price here beat the John Deere dealer by $30. That is a significant savings, and the CCA for the new battery is 330 compared to 195 for the stock JD battery. Also, a nice customer service shout out to Mike who works here. I bought two batteries for my grandmother's electric wheelchair over a year ago. Recently she was complaining that the chair was giving her problems and thought it was because of the batteries. Needed two replacement batteries for my 2015 RAM. Website showed Duracell Ultra Platinum AGA 800 CCA BCI Group 94R and X2 Power Premium AGM 840 CCA BCI Group 94R batteries. Called to verify they had them in stock. They do not. Offered substituted battery: Intimidator AGM 94R at same price as Duracell. Needed it for immediate trip, so had no choice. Clerk was surprised/disappointed when I told her I wanted it installed. She had a difficult time lifting the old batteries out of the truck, and even more difficulty putting in new batteries. I helped by keeping the terminal connectors out of the way so she could install battery. She lost the screw to the battery hold down, and laughed in frustration. I'll have my repair shop install it. I would rank service a 2 out of 10. I would rank inventory a 2 out of 10. If I didn't need it right away, I would have purchased batteries elsewhere. read more
