Lately, I've been trying to shop away from the typical giant retailers. To that end, I've found Batteries Plus a convenient alternative. Pricing is fair, and though I don't love the location on US22, shopping is easy enough and parking is convenient. Staff have been friendly when I've visited. A remote-controlled ceiling fan (Go Ceiling, Go!) in my daughter's room remained on when the remote ran out of batteries. They were some jacked up size of 23AE 12V. While I have Amazon Prime and ordered new ones that would arrive in a couple of days, I needed them sooner. Home Depot and other stores didn't have them but this one did. When I entered, 3 clerks were ready to help and got me exactly what I needed. I didn't even have to look and the price was really fair. This place stinks. Customer service stinks. They never seem to have what I need in stock even though their website shows otherwise. They also advertise car key fobs cut and programmed yet the sales guy insisted they don't do that. I normally do not write reviews of places, but I wanted to write this because this place was great. I cracked the screen of my galaxy s8 and shopped around for a good price. This place by far had the best price at $239, which is great considering the screen itself cost around $200. Other places that I called quoted me between $300-$400. I also like how their prices are listed on their website and it is not like at the mall, where the price changes all the time. My phone looks great and works great. Shopped online to replace several marine batteries for a boat. After shopping around for batteries, I decided on Batteries Plus mostly because Batteries Plus website stated batteries were in-stock at my local Batteries Plus store and at additional Battery Plus stores not too far away. These are expensive batteries (X2 AGM batteries at $400 apiece). I shop for coupons, apply coupon, place order. An hour later, store calls to tell me they do not have batteries in stock and that no other store in state has them. They would be happy to order them, but that it would take a couple of weeks for the batteries to arrive. Misleading website information. Complete waste of time. read more

I am giving the store a 1-star rating due to this specific incident. I have been a customer of this store for years and have always left satisfied. However three weeks back was a different story. I took my son to have a new battery installed into his iPhone. The employees there were really young man. Perhaps not much older then 20. I was unaware of any older leadership present. After some talk the employees indicated they could replace the iPhone battery. One of the employees took the phone into the back for a few minutes and returned indicating they can replace the battery. I said ok and they proceeded to write up a work order to with I signed. We left the store to return about 35 minutes later. Upon returned we were informed the work could not be completed. They informed me that the screws to remove the battery had been damaged but not by them. This iPhone has never been operated on until that day. They damaged the phone and denied it and instead blamed Apples manufacturing process. That may be possible but must be really rare. Given the employees took the phone to the back to examine for decision to replace the battery leaves them twice liable. Seeing the situation I simply left. I called the manager later and got another denial. This store failed really bad here. Be careful. I have re-learned a valuable lesson and that is "Cheap is Expense". Be wise and take your phone to the expensive iPhone store and wait in line. At least they stand behind and in front of their work!! Staffing matters. Responsible matters. I am truly sorry to have to post this incident but this failure should be called out. read more

This store is hidden away on a stretch of eastbound Rt. 22 where it might not have been noticed. Although a fairly small building, they stock replacement batteries for pretty much everything, and can quickly order-in the obscure laptop and cellphone batteries they don't stock. If you've spent too much time searching for batteries for things like remote car entry systems, wireless doorbells or any of the countless devices which need batteries, come here first. While the convenience and depth of their stock is reason to come to Batteries Plus, their personal and helpful service is reason to make this a semi-regular stop. I can't speak for all locations in the Batteries Plus franchise chain, but Angel, the owner, and the folks here take the time to check that they're selling you the right battery and test to assure that it works. They open early (8 am/9 am Sat.), close late (9 pm M-Sat) and apparently have similar stocks of replacement light bulbs. Their website, which needs better internet bandwidth, has coupons for both product lines. Batteries Plus has a recycling program, and everything we've purchased has been fresh. Most retail stores who sell a fraction of the batteries sold here assume that they have you trapped into paying whatever hyper-inflated price they ask. Not so here. My last battery change for two Honda Accord remote entry tags, with sizing, installation and testing, was roughly half the price of a single replacement battery at Radio Shack. read more

Extremely disappointed with the service quality - I would not recommend or trust them for any phone repair unless you want a damaged device returned back to you. The team at the store take no responsibility and are not trained on handling phone repairs. I went to the Batteries Plus store at Union to replace an iPhone screen. My phone was working perfectly fine before handing in for screen replacement. Store engineer tested/verified the phone, and took it in for the repair. Next day received the phone post screen replacement and when I verified it at the store, noticed the earpiece is no longer functional and broke during the screen replacement process. They conveniently say that they don't know what to do to fix it - and during these conversations they also mentioned one of the engineers left the phone device open with motherboard exposed overnight for another guy to continue work the next day!! No resolution, and the Store manager and owner were not contactable. I'm left with an iPhone that is non functional post the shoddy work. Don't risk your phone to save a few dollars - take it to another store!! read more

I had my iPhone 6 battery replaced on 10/1/2017. Fast forward to a few months later and the battery is not functioning well and the phone is basically shutting down at 20% battery life or so. I went to the Apple store and they confirmed the battery needed replacement, but would not replace it since it was serviced by a non-authorized vendor. So I stopped by Batteries Plus Bulbs again and explained the situation to them. I was told by the gentleman working there that the battery issue is related to an iOS software update and that replacing the battery again wouldn't solve the issue. So here I am with barely a 6 month old battery and I'm no better off than I was when I first came to the store... BTW - I just spoke with Apple about the store saying iOS 11.3 is causing the battery issue and they said that is completely false. read more

We live in NYC but will make a stop here to buy bulbs/batteries when visiting relatives in Pennsylvania. Store management is awesome and friendly - dad called them about 5 times for directions and they are very courteous and patient. Dad bought an item here for less than $10 when an online website listed the price at $50 read more

* * DO NOT BUY CAR BATTERIES FROM BATTERIES PLUS * * THEIR WARRANTIES ARE A SCAM!! I purchased a $133 Duracell Ultra Gold (Top of the line Duracell) with a 36-month free replacement. This battery died in only 22 months and the Union, NJ store on Rt. 22 would NOT replace it or even prorate it claiming it had to be "ABOVE A CERTAIN VOLTAGE" to be covered...the manager said, "it's in the fine print". It's not stated anywhere on their website and I received no paperwork stating this. They BS everyone on their website claiming 100% Customer Satisfaction, but they can't stand behind a basic Duracell battery warranty. This place is owned and managed by thieves that DO NOT stand behind their products!! Costco, Sears, AutoZone and Pep Boys all stand behind their car battery warranties with out exceptions. read more

Came in to have the charging portal replaced on my Galaxy S5. Chris and Jordan were great! So helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I hung out for a little waiting for the repair to be completed and had a chance to watch them interact with customers and was so impressed. The store was super busy that day but every customer was helped and walked out of that store with what they needed. I will definitely be back (hopefully not because of my phone) and recommend this place to everyone! read more

Their repairs failed within days when I tried to have them make good they refused when I called the company to complain they said they thought the store was right but would check and call me back - they never did. I personally have never made a purchase at this location (nor the franchise itself for that matter) however my recent experience in trying to help my mother in law in returning her car battery for warranty replacement leads me to firmly believe that I never will. Long story short -between the rt22 union location and rt1 woodbridge location they kept said battery 4 nights even though I was told multiple times one night was sufficient to determine if the battery was bad. The woodbridge location even determined the batt was bad but I'm still having an issue getting them (union location) to honor the warranty. Tomorrow will be my 7th trip to batt plus to try and get a warranty replacement for a product already determined by batt plus to be defective. Side bar while in these two stores multiple times I looked at their pricing and everything is high, comes nowhere near amazon prime, maybe on a business level it makes sense but for basic public shopping there are much much better values out there. read more

This store is amazing! It's a shame that Chris' comment above is based off his own selfish needs instead of trying to be understanding considering the conditions. I don't see a major store like lowes or Home Depot saving your spot, or item, or taking your credit card info. They are first come first serve. Thank you! You guys saved the day today! Called and spoke to Joshua. We had planned on riding today. Long story short, the battery was shot. We thought we were out of luck. Was about to throw the towel in but called Batteries Plus Bulbs. Josh told me he had a battery for 2011 Yamaha Stryker. Perfect!!! Sure enough he had the battery. Transaction was very easy and fun. Both Josh and his coworker were very friendly. We were reassured that this was the right battery. After a pleasant experience, we drove back and the battery fit like a glove! Bike started right up!
