I got off work at 6 pm, had to take my disabled husband with me, we made it to the store at 6:26 pm, hoping to get my key fob battery replaced. Walked in at 6.26pm before 6:30 pm..the door was still open.. but one of the staff name Wes?.. told us that the register was closed ..(we cant even buy anything?) ..He asked if we could come back tomorrow... I also work the following day, so if I were to go there again, he would have told me the same thing? It's not easy for me to get out to do business, as I am my husband's only caregiver but I had my friend with me that day. Batteries Plus , Store in West Sacramento closed, Bought in West Sac store (09/13/25) top of the line Delco Car Battery, $318.99 (FYI, AAA will come to you, install new battery $50.00. Should have went with them.) Said Delco Battery warranty. Have had AAA jump start car in last two day s twice. Last AAA guy sad battery cells bad. Drove to West Sacramento only to find the store was now gone and closed. Checked online for another store found one on Howe. Went to that store. They want me top take battery out and bring back to charge. They need to see if will hold charged. Guess when they installed battery could not get cables removed. Must have add a glue to hold on. 10/05/24 Stopped by today because I needed a battery for my car key fob & hubs just needed 4 AAA batteries. It's a convenient location on the corner of Howe Ave & Arden Way, right next to Del Taco with plenty of parking. It was late afternoon when we got there, walked in & was greeted by a nice & friendly gentleman behind the counter. The place is decent sized & stocked with batteries for just about anything. The store itself is very clean. We got what we needed in no time at all. The guy even installed the new battery on the key fob in seconds. Yes, their prices may be a little higher than stores like Walmart or Target, but you pay for the convenience. We like coming here every time we visit. Last year we went to the store by Ikea in West Sac & got the same great service. Wish we had more of these type of stores in HI. We only have 1 on Oahu called Battery Bill's. read more

Whenever I need any type of battery, whether it be for my key fob, my "gate clicker", or anything else, I can go to any of their stores in the Sacramento area, and get great service. I came in today, because the battery to one of my Apple AirTags had died. My phone was telling me. That the key to my jeep was still up in Humboldt County. That was very interesting, because I had the key in my pocket. I wish I would've gotten the name of the gentleman who helped me, because he was very friendly and helpful, and assured me he could replace the battery no problem at all. He took the AirTag, and then in just a couple of minutes, my jeep key was once again in Sacramento! *YAY!* :) The price for the battery was next to nothing, and they even offer a military/veteran discount. Batteries + Bulbs on Howe is a good store staffed by wonderful people. The staff fully understand batteries and they share knowledge between themselves. Elijah remembers me every time even if it's been a few months! The only battery need that the store wasn't able to assist with was a specialty motorcycle battery and a charger for it - Shorai lithium iron. However, I have purchased a battery here for my Honda scooter. It was either priced similarly to or a bit less than a motorcycle gear store. And they have a great selection of Battery Tender products for the standard lead acid motorcycle battery. Even though I come to B+B with real battery related needs, during this nonsense covid19 social isolation period I feel like I'm visiting a friend and leaving with what I needed product-wise and a little recharge of social needs. I went to a local camera place in midtown to figure out what was wrong with my camera. Not sure if it was the charger, the batteries or the camera. I visited there twice and got nothing done but the guy did recommend batteries plus bulbs. That is the best recommendation ever bc I went to this location once and all of my problems were resolved. Let's talk about how easy it was to find the store. Even though it was in the corner, signage was big and easy to spot. Too bad I didn't get any pictures bc I was rushing to get back home to sign into a meeting. But you can't miss it. The parking is huge and clean! Let me back up a little, before I got here today. I called the store last night and the gentleman who helped me over the phone put aside the battery for me so it's ready when I'm there. I think I'm going to keep that protocol from now on: call before I go. When you walk in the store, no one was in there. Maybe because it was 9am but I like it, less people less contact. Safer for me. I proceeded to the counter and was greeted by Lodi (idk how to spell his name) he was great! He worked his magic and we troubled everything. So the conclusion is... nothing was wrong with my camera ( thank god!) The problem was my charger and it somehow drained my batteries to 0. He jumpstarted the batteries and now they're charging at home. I bought another battery just in case based on his suggestion and can return within 14 days. My overall experience here is a 5/5. Clean environment, plenty of parking, competent and friendly staff and my problems were resolved within 15 minutes. I was in and out and got back to work. When I want what they have, I'm going there, nowhere else THE LONG: I had a minor electrical emergency: a power inverter that went south on me. I had bought it from B+B, but I really hadn't used it. I was in the parking lot before they opened, and the staff was trickling in and getting ready to open. Once inside, they were worn, friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond. For the most part, it should satisfy your shopping needs if these are the two items you came in for. I walked in for the first time recently and found the store divided evenly down the middle, with one side devoted to - you guessed it - batteries, and the other bulbs. I happened to be looking for both. The store clerk was running the place as a one man operation at the time and handling multiple customers well. He walked me through the lighting, including brightness, warmness and wattage, so I could find the bulb I need for a new front porch light. The battery selection was nice as well. I won't say they have everything batteries, but they have almost everything. I was able to find three different batteries for three different devices on one shelf. Think of this as a specialty store. The prices were comparable if not slightly higher than some other spots, but you're paying for specialty items that you might need one or two of versus in bulk. read more

I needed a battery for my key fob so I came here and they put the new battery in. It's still didn't open my truck door after the battery was put in, but the signal is good. The guys took the time to tell me how to reprogram the car to the fob. Once I did that, everything worked like a charm. They say it happens very seldom, but every now and then you need to reprogram your vehicle to your key fob. I would definitely recommend. The Store Manager, Nathan Miles, was extremely helpful and provided excellent customer service. This is extremely rare nowadays and seldom offered. It just seemed second nature to Nathan. He definitely put "Service" back into "Customer Service." After answering his questions to ensure I needed a battery, Nathan did a load test, amperage check, and tested the alternator. When performing the tests, Nathan explained everything very clearly. When it was determined that a new battery was needed, Nathan installed it. What made the experience even better is the fact that if I didn't need the battery, I ordered online, they would reverse the charge on my credit card. I now know where to go to get future batteries for my wife's power chair and the car. This is truly a place to do business with. read more

I took my iPhone 11 in there today to have them look at it because after dropping it this morning it went black and wouldn't turn on. My anxiety was through the roof already with it being Christmas time and now to worry about possibly having to get a new phone was worrisome to say the least. Went there a week or two ago on a Saturday to get my battery replaced for my car Fob. Store was not busy there were about three people in there and they only have two computers/registers. The other customers were having the staff look up several items on their register/computers and I had to wait for at least five minutes before they could ring up my sales. After calling around to small watch stores and getting long wait times (2 days) or rude customer service, I drove to one in Land Park who told me over the phone they had to hold my watches for at least 45 mins to sanitize them. When I got there their windows were barred up like those check cash places and doors were locked. Turns out they exchanged $$ for gold and whatever other business. It looked way sketchy so I hightailed to my car and locked the doors! Always trust your instincts. I went on Yelp again and called batteries plus and got a no fuss, no wait answer. The guys in there were nice and swapped my batteries out in a jiffy. In and out in 15 minutes. Definitely recommend this place to change watch batteries and other battery needs. It's safe and not sketchy and windows do not have bars. It basically looks like an auto part store but more well lit and with shorter shelves. $12/watch read more

I went to the Elk Grove store to have my phone battery replaced. The technician looked at my phone, including looking at my "settings" to see the make and model. He told me that store didn't have the right battery, but that the store on Howe Street did. He called the Howe Street store and had them set the battery aside. I drove half an hour to the Howe Street store. They confirmed they had the battery that the Elk Grove technician had asked them to set aside for me. They then did the "intake" for my phone (another 15 minutes), which included the technician again looking at my phone settings to confirm the phone's make and model. They told me the phone would be ready in an hour. I returned an hour later. The technician cheerfully told me they didn't have the right battery in stock after all and that they would have to order it, and did I want to do that and come back in another day. Of course I said no, that I would go elsewhere. I took my phone, went to my car, and saw that there was no SIM card in my phone. I went back inside the store and sure enough, they had forgotten to put the SIM card back in my phone before they returned it to me. Do not patronize Batteries Plus Bulbs. The one star is for the service I received over the phone from Joe. I have not visited this location in person. I called to ask if the store carried a specific battery. I provided Joe with the name and number associated with the battery. Instead of checking, he said "we sell a lot of batteries here so it's likely we have it, just bring it in." I shared that I lived far and wanted to be sure they have it before coming all that way. He then said that they have other stores I could go to.
