The folks there take the time to explain things patiently. I recently had a problem with my trailer and made several trips chasing the problem down. I had a pretty frustrating experience with Batteries Plus and wouldn't recommend going this route for a car battery install. Their website wasn't working when I tried to schedule an installation, so I called the store directly. The person I spoke with told me to go ahead and purchase the battery online and said they would install it when I came in the next day. Great. That sounded easy enough. I drove across town expecting a quick install, only to be told once I arrived that they don't install batteries on my vehicle's make and model. That would have been extremely helpful information to share during the phone call before I made the trip and purchased the battery. On top of that, they also wanted to charge an additional $40 just to register the battery after installation, which was never mentioned beforehand and honestly felt excessive. Between the website not working, the incorrect guidance over the phone, the wasted trip across town, and the surprise extra charge, the experience felt pretty disorganized and frustrating. I'd strongly recommend calling somewhere else first if you need a battery installed. read more

What a great place for all of your battery needs. As I approached Batteries +, I was quickly greeted as the door was held open for me. There were several customers ahead of me but their questions and needs were promptly met. I had a question about a fire detector and it was answered and a permanent remedy for as recommended. In addition, several customers need help bringing large batteries in and the staff gladly went to their cars and carried them into the store. 2/5/2024- Went out this morning to wipe off the snow from the 4Runner, and attempted to start the car. Unfortunately, it would not kick over. Noticed my last review was three years ago, and decided to call about the warranty. I just missed by two weeks for the three year warranty- just my luck. I love this store! They have all your specialty batteries. The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. They also fix phones, and It's a much better experience than the Apple Store! My guy was super knowledgeable and eager to save me money. He thought he had all the parts he needed, and I left to have lunch. When I got back, Unfortunately, my phone needed something he didn't have. But he did the leg work for me and found an associate location that had the part, and made the introduction. I drove to Sparks and they fixed me right up. I told them I would be waiting in the parking lot, and they got right to work. And we're done much quicker than anticipated. My phone is fixed!! Yay!!! Cold weather came up on us fast this year, and with it, brought dead batteries for our old Ford F250! My husband calls her Old Betsy, and she has 400k miles and we're determined to keep her on the road. We weren't able to find the 2 batteries we needed at one store, but Haley and Don went out of their way to assist when we mistakenly ordered 1 of the wrong model at the Sparks location, and got the correct one ordered and ready to pick up at the Reno store. Both Haley and Don were amazing! Friendly, helpful and customer-focused, and they did it with a smile! From start to finish, they took care of what we needed. With many larger retailers still struggling with short-staffed stores and sometimes even just constantly ringing but never answered phones, shopping this Batteries Plus location was an easy, pleasant experience! Chris was FANTASTIC! The battery in my husbands car key fob had died so I stopped in to see if they replaced them. For a few $ more not only do they replace them, they replace them for a LIFETIME! He checked mine and it was getting low, so now I'm set for life too! Chris took time to explain what voltage the batteries SHOULD have in order to work properly. Despite the YELP page advertising "electronics repair", this is HIGHLY not the case. Ended up here only for them to say: "We only do hardware". Hardware-- when literally defined-- isn't strictly electronics; it's more of the body of those electronics. Software is more of the accurate terminology for "Electronics repair". Because of this fraudulent advertising, I was hoping to get ACTUAL ELECTRONICS repair as in help with moisture damage resulting in touch-screen dysfunctionality and potential motherboard assistance. Nope. To make it worse, these morons suggested "Mac-A-Rama". Why? Is it beyond your basic reasoning and logical ability that despite you having around 3 computers in your building, to look up what they major in because it would be momentary and you'd see that the word "Mac" refers to the concept of "Macintosh" which is indicative of the fact that they are solely a MAC and iPHONE/APPLE gear repair store? I swear... It's disgraceful nerds like these with dilapidated neurology that gives BONA FIDE nerds a bad name. read more

Had the most amazing experience here a couple days ago. Had to tow my car because inexplicably it wouldn't start and I was left stranded. Not a good feeling. I had recently purchased a new battery for my car so it was a mystery to me why it didn't start. I ended up back at batteries plus and after one employee did all the proper tests you can run on a battery. Scratched her head and told me she was going to get the master! Boy what a pleasant surprise after 4-5 other pros looked at it and speculated but had no solid fix. This guy took all of 10 seconds to use the problem and maybe another 20 to fix it. Yesterday I called to see if they had a replacement battery for my aging laptop. I spoke with Brian who suggested I bring the laptop and charger when I came in. -UPDATE- The owner reached out to me about the situation and was very helpful, apologetic, and truly empathetic about the situation. He offered to reimburse me once the new hood support rod came in. I can say for sure that they do care a lot about their customer's experience, and my incident was an unfortunate rarity. -ORIGINAL REVIEW- Went for a new battery, did indeed leave with a new battery, but I also left with a broken hood support rod and a hood that would not close all the way. Workers attempted to close the hood with the rod still propping the hood up, which is not how my car works- you are supposed to take it out, place it in it's holder, and then close the hood. This resulted in the rod being jammed into the metal it sits in. The workers just seemed to watch as my stepfather and I attempted to pry it out- no compensation was offered, and no blame was stated on their part despite seeing it happen in front of our eyes. read more

I got an iPad for Christmas for my boyfriend. Well, the battery was dying really quickly so we took it to the batteries plus and bulbs on S. Virginia St. and they told me they would fix the battery. They called my boyfriend later that day and told them that they needed to keep it for a few days because they needed to re-order a battery for my iPad. Then a few days later they called again and said that apparently my screen was screwed up too along with the battery so they fix both of the issues and were the nicest people on the planet. So now I have a brand new battery for my iPad and a brand new screen. I am so so thankful for this place that if I ever have anything else wrong with my iPad or any other electronic devices I am definitely going there again.
