I've bought over 12 batteries for cars and trucks at this company in Washington Township, New Jersey batteries plus when I went in, I had two batteries that had question that I hadn't started in a week and a half literally they said they needed to charge them because they were drained And I said the side wall seem like they're swelled like there's a dead cell in there and they said we'll call tomorrow. She calls me the next day and says that the batteries were so drained that they couldn't warrant them and they're both dead however, three days in I brought the batteries back and I put them back on my Unit And they've been starting up consistently for the past three days but yet she won't warrant him but she would sell me new batteries. I stopped in to Batteries Plus as the battery in my son's ride-on jeep had died and needed to be replaced. The customer service here was fantastic. As soon as I walked in, someone asked how he could help me. I first showed him a photo of the battery with wires glued onto it, but he offered to go out to my car to see it for himself. He then found the battery I needed, scraped the glue off of the old battery to separate the wires from it, and installed the new battery for me. I wish I had caught his name but I didn't. Girlfriend needed a new battery for her car, and this store happened to be conveniently located a half mile from our house and had Consumer Reports' top-rated Group 24F battery (the X2Power SLI24FAGMDP) in stock. We stopped by around 2:00 PM on a Friday and the store was pretty much empty, so we were able to make the purchase without waiting. Nicko, the employee who helped us, was very friendly and polite, and took the time to clean the car's battery terminals before he installed the battery. We were on our way in under 30 minutes. Could not ask for a better customer experience. Side note: when we called in advance to ensure the battery was in stock, we spoke with a different employee, who was not a very effective communicator--he had a difficult time understanding the make and model of the car the battery needed to fit, although it is a relatively common Lexus RX350. Regardless, after spelling out the car manufacturer's name using the phonetic alphabet two or three times, he was eventually able to figure out what we needed and confirmed the battery was in stock. read more

My laptop battery swelled up & died. I could only use it with the charger. I took it to Best Buy where it was purchased & had an extended warranty. They told me that if I got the battery they would install it. One of my friends tried to open the case, but was unable to open it. I pass Batteries Plus on my way to work so I stopped in. They were all very nice & courteous. They told me they had to order the battery. It arrived the day they told me it would. I brought the laptop in the next day, but they were very busy & said it would take about an hour. I told them I had to be at work in less than an hour. They apologized. It was my birthday so I threw that out. A young man named Italo came out of the back & said he would install it. If he took 10 minutes to do the job, I'd be shocked! Since I was not the person picking it up they needed the card I purchased with to issue a credit . I called and asked the manager Nick to see if he would help me issuing a credit to my card over the phone and he said " can't do it needs to be physically present , not understanding since I made my purchase online what the hang up was but had to leave my job in order to get my refund . I took my phone to an authorized Apple service center. Technician reported that the bad battery was not OEM and that who ever installed that battery had done damage to my phone. Requested a camera battery charger; what they had in store did not work so they offered to special order one for which I had to pre-pay and was assured it would arrive next day from Thursday to Friday. I should have read the reviews prior to taking my iPad to be repaired. ‍ I hope someone else avoids the irritation of attempting to have something repaired here. Last Thursday, I came in seeking a repair of my sons iPad Air 3. They told me it was $99 and $19.99 for a protective screen. They wouldn't have the screen until Monday. I paid upfront and then returned on Monday to drop off the iPad. This is when they informed my that the man who repairs iPad screen, yes, there is only one, wouldn't return until Tuesday. This afternoon I call to see the status of the repair and they proceed to tell me that the cost is actually $249.99 and to tell me that the "good news is that nothing has been done yet." Apparently, this was some sort of "manager", who doesn't appear to know how to "manage" customer service. He proceeded to tell me that he is the only one who knows how to do the repairs. When I arrive to pick up my iPad, as I will not pay this absurd amount, he initially doesn't even speak to me, rather having a young clerk, who doesn't even know how to do a return, take care of the return. He eventually had to assist given the clerks in expertise. When I relayed that it might be best if his staff were better educated and informed about how to accurately quote service prices, he seemed surprised and actually stated that this was unnecessary. He goes on the insist that because he had informed me of the price change, there shouldn't be a problem. Again, I had to call the store to find out about the discrepancy. Of note, he had time to update the "charge" on the order but no time to inform the client. Note in the receipt, no change in part number, only price. read more

I took my phone in to have the screen repaired and have the case changed. It worked fine and was fully functioning otherwise. The technician assured me they could make the repair and that I should not purchase a new phone. The repair cost me more than $200. When I got my phone back it no longer was able to get a signal and I could not use it. I went to Verizon, they informed me that the antenna was damaged when the phone was being repaired. I returned to Batteries and Bulbs and spoke with Nicholas Vega. He said he could not fix the phone and that he had done everything for me that he could and would not authorize a refund on the failed repair. I contacted the home office, they informed me that this is a franchise store. I contacted the store owner directly. He was supposed to contact me within 48 hours, but he never responded. I now have have to purchase a phone and I am out $200. Do not use this store for any phone repairs unless you want a lot of headaches, lost time and lost money. read more

My son brought his phone in to repair the screen. On the first day it started to glitch and soon thereafter the corner of the screen popped out. He pushed it back in and the corner cracked. We brought the phone back 5 days after the original repair to get a warranty replacement and the manager said no. He explained that screens don't pop out unless you drop the phone. Well that is BS because on a prior repair my screen popped out but fortunately did not crack when I popped back in. In the end I'm out $120 bucks and have not solved my problem. Do not go here! I bought a battery here two weeks ago for my alarm system in my house and it was faulty. I called and spoke to the "manager" FELIPE over the phone this afternoon and he was not accommodating. Horrible customer service. He expected me to buy a new battery, they would test the old (which could take up to 24hrs), and then would ask the owner if he could refund me for the new one I purchased only if the bad one "tested bad." He wouldn't confirm reimbursement; therefore, I was potentially expected to pay for two batteries (cost about $32 each). What a scam. Also, the prices are jacked up for everything inside the store. My alarm guy came over tonight for free, changed the battery out without any issues for half the price. I will never go back to this battery craphole and will make sure to spread the word. Poorly run business. It's no wonder the place is always empty and there's already another bad review. Hopefully the owner reads these reviews and deals with the "manager", policies, and poor quality/faulty equipment accordingly. STAY AWAY: horrible customer service. I bought two lithium batteries for two different units($400.00). They both drained overnight, I checked for drainage on both vehicles, they were perfect. I was dealing with them for 3 Sundays in a row with this situation, batteries are not suitable for those vehicles. They great to charge you your money. But horrible at warranty and exchange purposes. I've never seen a store with no manager on duty. Store owner needs to get real gentlemen to confront situations And find best alternative for both the customer and store. Not just them. Keep in mind I went back before the 14 day return policy. There in need of new management ASAP. I purchased a new ATV battery on January 30,2022. Installed the battery and it worked well. The next day it would not work at all. We were in the Big Cypress and fortunately I had a second ATV to tow the disabled one back to the truck. Ruined the trip for everyone. I spent a few days going over the ATV trying to resolve the no start issue. At that point I took it to Riva Motorsports and paid about $200 for a professional diagnosis. The result? Bad battery. I bought a new battery from NAPA for about $100, installed it and the bike starts fine. On February 18,2020, the day after I had the ATV back from Riva, I went to Batteries Plus in South Miami to return the defective battery. I explained everything and was told that their return policy is only for 14 days. I appealed to the clerk to exercise some common sense as it was only a few days past the 14 days and I had my ATV in the shop until yesterday...and was told that "I should use common sense..." I left the defective battery at the store and contacted Batteries Plus customer service. I explained everything to them and they said they would forward my information to the owners and they would contact me to resolve the issue. Nothing yet... I am out over $430 not to mention a ruined ATV trip and time I have spent trying to resolve this issue. I have been working on vehicles for over 50 years. I expected to be able to return the defective battery with my receipt in its original box without issue. I only wish I could have rated this store zero stars. I will not shop here again and would advise anyone considering patronizing this business to reconsider. read more

Too expensive!! Bad customer service!! Try Bulbs Unlimited instead!! I needed a bulb and went to the Batteries + Bulbs in South Miami. They didn't have it so it had to be special ordered and I was told it would arrive in a week. I paid $16.99 for it. Since I needed it right away I found it at Bulbs Unlimited for about 1/3 of the price at about $5.95 dollars. I called Batteries +Bulbs to let them know I wanted to cancel the order but they told me I would need to come in since they didn't have my card on file. After more than 2 weeks I was called by Batteries and Bulbs and told it had arrived. At the store they would not return my money because too much time had passed since they called me. I wasn't allowed to return a bulb I never picked up. And I got it for 1/3 of the price elsewhere. read more

My battery would not start my vehicle so I took it back to batteries plus and spoke with the assistant manager he said leave the battery I will charge it and check it come back tomorrow so I did when I returned the next day the assistant manager informed me that the battery was good I took the battery and installed it in the vehicle the battery was dead so I returned the next day and the assistant manager ask me to leave the battery again when I returned the following day he informed me that the battery was no good. The battery had one year left on the warranty the assistant manager told me he could not replace it do to the fact that the battery didn't show any voltage, the battery went for being good to no good in one day. This is the first time I encounter this issue in 50 years where the store would not replace a battery under warranty. Stay away from this place at all cost. I replaced my iPhone battery here in January, and it's supposed to last two years. My battery was at 77% capacity in August of the same year. When I went back to the place, they told me that the battery lasting two years is just a benchmark, and that other things may have affected my battery life. The manager told me the screen was damaged, but it was bulging out because the battery was overheating so badly. I went to the apple store and they were shocked because the screen was levitating off the aluminum frame. The manager there, Nicholas, is a degenerate, and a condescending babbling asshole. Please avoid this place, I now have to buy a new phone because my battery and screen are both damaged, and it would cost about the same to just buy a new phone. They carry all types of batteries (cars, boats, bikes, ATVs, phones, computers, etc), light bulbs, chargers and other small electronics. When I needed a specialty battery that I couldn't find anywhere, I went to batteries plus and they MADE one for me...and in less than a week. It was cheap too, somewhere under $10. They will test batteries for free, by the way. I also recently heard that they repair computers, tablets, cell phones and other gadgets. I didn't know this before but they've actually been around since the late 80's and I think at some point they were listed at the #1 Franchise to buy into in America. read more

I bought four Duracell Fleet batteries for my semi truck on 8/28/21 and by the second week the truck was not starting , I took the batteries back to the store and requested my guaranty on the batteries. They told that they had to evaluate the batteries to see what was wrong with them. They took four days to find out that two of the batteries were bad. When I went to pick up the batteries, the ones that were suppose to be under warranty were not Duracell, they were trying to substitute the batteries for another brand alleging that that was what the manufacturer recommended. This mother fuckers are a bunch of thugs, they took my money and now they are saying that I have to wait till November until I get the Duracell replacement. They are deceivers not trust worthy, they took my money and were very disrespectful when I was complaining about the batteries not being the brand i bought. DO NOT BUY HERE !!!! I came here and purchased a car battery which they installed. The battery is giving me issues for the past 2 weeks and they are not honoring the warranty. When I first approached them with the issue they checked battery and said it was fine. A couple days later same issue. Went back again and told them it happened again, they checked again and said it was fine. I said the only reason it checks fine is because I had to charge it for 2 hours before brining it back to you. That day is when I learn the warranty expired 3 days prior. Absolutely unprofessional Service! I took my cellular iPhone to repair the main switch. They asked me to return 6 hours later to pick up phone. However I had to return three times that day, so it was finally ready at the end of the day. Then, next day I had to return because my phone had a new problem. My phone started sending text, changing screen and making calls all on its own. After some hours my phone was finally repaired (so, I thought). But I found one more problem with my phone, the face recognition feature was (and still is) not working. Thus I had to take my phone again. The answer was that they cannot do anything else. I argued that before they replace the switch, the face recognition function in my phone was working fine, and that only after they serviced the phone I am having this problem. Their answer was that when they replace parts "some things may change inside the phone", and that there is nothing they can do. I replied that was unacceptable. The solution they offered was that I need to take the phone to the Apple store for service at my own cost. read more
