We usually go to the Cabela's in La Vista for our sporting goods, but will go across the river to Bass Pro on occasion. Can be tricky to get to depending on traffic, but lots of parking once arrived. My wife loves watching the big aquarium, and she usually buys her archery equipment here. Friendly service every time we've gone. Customer Service is a HUGE mess. It took me at least 7 phone calls to finally be able to pick up a grill for my brother - a grill he had paid for, and had told them I would be picking up. I got put on hold indefinitely, transferred to the wrong department (shoes), and hung up on repeatedly. I'm positive that one of the CSRs was a teenage boy who had just started working there. While I don't love taxidermy animals, this whole place was very big and impressive. The big fish in the tank at the back were very cool to see, though they were crammed a little too close together and some were dead. They have everything you need for the outdoors here including boats, fishing gear, outerwear, hunting weapons, sunglasses, cooking gear, and more. Definitely a big sight to see. read more

I've been in the store a handful of times and never had a bad experience. The employees are always helpful when I have asked questions, and they've been nice to look into options for me when needed. This time around we price matched with a manager that helped us out tremendously. I feel like they have a good variety between gear, clothing, and gifts, but I feel they have a lack of children's clothing. I should say more lack of boy clothing, because from the little amount that I did see, it was all girl clothing. I went in, looking for a pair of jeans for my son, but they had nothing to offer. He's in between youth and men's sizes, so I had to opt for a pair of men jeans that he can grow into. read more

Lots of hunting gear in store and a decently large amount of clothing. I like their Black Rifle Apparel and home items. Always a well kept store, no complaints there. My issue is with the last visit I made there. Went to the firearm section with my brother and began looking at some of their used firearm racks that were not located behind the counter. They were in the walkway between the gun counter and the aisles with all of the ammo. We were intrigued by a few of the guns in the rack, and I picked one up to examine it closer. All of the sudden the lone employee working the gun counter addresses me (he didn't yell but he did raise his voice) saying "Sir, there's a bar there for a reason, if you want to look at something you need to ask us and we will assist you." Indeed there was a bar, but it looked more like something to keep them from toppling over onto customers should the rack be bumped. It was extremely easy to pick up the gun off the rack even with the bar there. There was no "Do not touch" sign on any of the racks. At any Cabela's or Bass Pro that I've ever been to, if there are guns in the gun library or not behind the counter that are just on the rack I've been allowed to look at them closer on my own. Look, I'm not above being told not to touch something. But if there's nothing indicating that I'm not supposed to don't be snarky when you tell me not to. Especially when I'm at a store where the used firearms are usually overpriced and experience says that the average customer is more experienced in that department than half of the employees. read more

Even though some of the prices are a little high, there isn't anything that you won't find in this store. Their selection is great and they have a pretty big stock. I have had a terrible experience with a new pontoon boat that I purchased in 2018 from the Bass Pro Shops in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I wish I would have bought a different boat from someone else but I settled on a Tracker due to the warranty. After 2 seasons on a sand bottom lake, one of the logs started taking on water. I trailered the boat 3.5 hours to the service center and waited a week to have it repaired. When I went to pick it up, the weld they did to repair it looked horrible, but the service manager assured me it would be fine. I trailered the boat back 3.5 hours and the first trip out it was taking on water from the exact same spot. Instead of driving 3.5 hours to have another terrible weld done, I took it to a local welder who cleaned up their weld and fixed the leak, which I paid for. A couple of weeks later, the other log began taking on water so I once again paid to have it repaired. A week or so after that, I was on the boat fishing and noticed the motor was sitting very low in the water and the fuel tank was submerged, sure enough both of the logs were taking on water in a different spot than already repaired. I once again paid to have the leaks fixed and after taking the boat out the next time, it was not running well at all. I took it to the local Mercury Authorized repair shop and they diagnosed it as water in the fuel due to the tank being submerged. I paid them to drain the fuel and tank and change the fuel filters. That fixed the problem, but a couple of weeks later there was once again water in both of the logs and I was unable to determine where it was coming in. I called Tracker and was told I needed to take it to a service shop, this was in August of 2020 and I have not been able to use the boat since. In October I took the boat into the service center and did not hear from them until December when they told me they would weld it to correct the issues. I refused that as it had been welded 5 times already and there is obviously a bigger issue. They agreed to replace the logs. It is now May and they still have the boat and are unable to provide me with a date as to when I will have it back. I have 4 batteries on the boat, 1 starting and 3 for the trolling motor and the boat has been sitting outside for 7 months, some of the time uncovered. I have brought this up and they do not seem to care. The only thing I get from them is "we're sorry and we'll let you know when it's done". The entire 2020 season I fought with and paid for multiple issues on a 3 year old boat with a warranty. For 10 months I have been unable to use the boat and for 7 months it has been sitting outside not plugged in. If I could do it over I would have never bought a boat from them and I would highly recommend that no one does. I have called customer service and they refer me back to the store, clearly noone cares about the $30k+ I spent on a brand new boat. read more

If you plan on buy a boat from a big box store like Basspro. I highly recommend that you plan ahead and order one the way you want it. Or go to a really boat dealer. If not I'm very confident that you will be disappointed with your purchase. I was also very disappointed with Customer Service and there boat service center. Communication is key to a successful business and they have demonstrated a lack of communication on multiple occasions only having this boat for a short time. (Less then one mouth) Overall from the beginning it was the worst experience I've ever had buying anything and trying to get everything fix that was wrong when we got this our brand new boat home and out on the water. I will never buy a boat from a big box store again definitely going to a real boat dealership. I'm very disappointed with my first new boat buying experience it's been way stressful and full of mixed emotions. They say that the best days owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. Well the day I bought it was disappointing and I'm already looking forward to sell it. I only came across the river to get some inexpensive warm socks and they had what I wanted for $4.99 a pair. It took me 15 minutes (with the help of two employees) to find my socks and to get in and out, counting the time I spent talking with the Salvation Army bell ringer (already? Nov 7th?). I almost had lunch at Uncle Bucks, until I noticed it only had 2 1/2 stars on Yelp. Oh well. Make sure you take the first exit after the river on EB I-8. read more

BPS in Council Bluffs is an awesome store. They have everything you could imagine. I have been to bass pro numerous times since they have opened and spent thousands of dollars there. I have purchased multiple firearms, hunting and fishing gear, camping gear, outdoor equipment, shoes, sandals, boots, and clothing and countless gift cards and gifts . I have eaten at multiple restaurants they have had. First Islamorada and then Uncle Mikes Grill. Bass pro shops is an awesome store, the atmosphere is pretty sweet with mounts and stuffed wildlife all over. The staff is always friendly and they have a great rewards program which really helps retain customers. My only complaint is that they don't price match with Amazon. They will price match Dicks, and Cabelas etc. but not Amazon. In this day and age if Brick and Mortar stores want to survive and remain relevant they have to start matching Amazon's prices. Other than that minor problem , the Bass Pro Shops in CB is a fantastic store and provides a great experience every time I go. read more

Very nice outdoors store that has a great variety of fishing gear and a boat showroom. Decent selection of hunting and camping gear as well as home decor. Prices are comparable to other area stores like Scheel's, Cabela's, and Dick's. They have an amazing 2 story aquarium with fish feeding demos inside. As well as they regularly run free seminars. Have been here twice and always find a nice selection of clothing and boots. Each time we've been there, we've been approached by employees asking if we need assistance. The service here is really exceptional. We also find a few nice things like bedspreads, lamps, gifts etc. Very large, rustic and enjoy the aquarium too. I've been to Bass Pro 5-10 times (not nearly as much as Cabela's) so don't value my opinion of this as highly as someone who is a regular. Cabela's is more convenient to my location and caters better to my needs so I will try not to be biased. Bass Pro's interior is much nicer than Cabela's. Or any Cabela's I have been to for that matter. I think it's a lot neater and lot more unique. Plus they have a waterfall and open top aquarium. Being multi-level works much nicer in my opinion as well. Everything is laid out in pretty easy to navigate order. They have a very nice entryway with a fireplace and some tables and chairs to lounge in. They also have a full service restaurant with a bar near the fishing section. Selection here trumps Cabela's in some areas and lacks much in others. I'm not a big fan of their firearms and fishing department here. I prefer Cabela's for those and hunting. Clothing selection is better and has better prices at Bass Pro in my opinion. Boats and ATV selection at Bass Pro is much better as well. Staff are pretty knowledgeable at both stores, maybe slightly more helpful and personable at Bass Pro. The restaurant looks nice and they have a tropical aquarium behind the bar, but I've never tried it, so no other comments. All in all, I find it difficult to drive across the River when I need something I can get at Cabela's, but if I'm ever out east or in CB I find it difficult to not stop and look around for a while. read more

I could hang out in Bass Pro all day long and never get bored. Staff up by the guns were very helpful and patient even when dealing with me, a guy who is just starting to get into hunting. Had a good conversation about shotguns and what to look for when picking a new one out. Walking through the rest of the store I had no less than (4) associates ask me if I needed help with anything. Some might find that annoying but personally I like the attention. It seems they recognize the importance of customer service and are doing what they can to make sure that YOU leave happy. read more

Last April I had above and beyond service. It was late and close to closing time and I was looking for someone available to help me. A gentleman who had his coat on, his lunch box, everything packed up ready to go home for the night set his stuff down to help me. Didn't even look for someone else who was still on the clock or anything, he told me if I needed something he was there to help. He was the kindest person ever and turned a very crappy day into a positive one! We recently visited santas wonderland. Amazing! Free photo with santa and free crafts for the kids! If you like they do offer additional photos (sizes) for a charge. My baby was not too sure about santa at first but they tried to get a good photo for us and didn't rush us in any way. The background for the photo is really a wonderland. Santas house, Elves that move and a reindeer that moved his head too. Makes for a great santa photo. read more

My son and I went to this location in Council Bluffs on Sunday morning 8/5/18 to buy a rifle and we'll never go back. The guy behind the gun counter acted like we were bothering him to help us look for a 22-250. He went to back room and came back out with nothing then he looked in a book and said we don't have a 22-250. That was my 3rd trip in a row that they didn't have what I wanted. We will never go back to a Bass Pro anywhere. I told the salesman that we were going to Scheels and he didn't blink an eye. The sales people at Scheels were fantastic. Terrible experience ! When coming here with my fiancé I was completely discriminated against for being a female fisherman. I approached the fishing counter and simply asked a group men a question about lures /bait. I got to the counter and asked "what do you guys prefer when fishing for bass or catfish ? " One of the guys looked and me .. Laughed .. And said "Those are 2 totally different things ". Then the group walked away ! One guy remained behind and helped my fiancé with all of his questions that he had. He was very informative but never included me in the conversation .. Never Asked what I was fishing for .. Never made eye contact Or helped me with any questions I had. I was basically never acknowledged during the time I was there . When I asked the gentleman a question He was very reluctant in showing me where the product was but yet we were weaving up and down isle after isle while he was looking for gear for my fiancé .I have never felt so disrespected and discriminated against.
