Though I have learned that things like "black olive" and "enchilada" are not so much appreciated at family gatherings so now I stick mostly to root beers and fruity flavors. Sometimes it's worth a few dollars more to have it in your hands. I've been surprised a few times when I received items that weren't as described or packaging was damaged in transit. Antiques and collectibles are a different market as a buyer... If you see something you want it's better to buy it right then if it's priced within reason. You may never find that same item again... Old Market is what Old Market is... It's geared to tourists and things are often a little high priced in areas like this. So is their rent usually... These areas attract a high volume of people and if you don't want to pay the marked price...someone who comes in right behind you just might. Some of the items here are a little dusty, but I guess that's to be expected with that many surfaces. Pretty hard to stay on top of all of it... The Imaginarium Old Market Mercantile is defintely worth the stop if you are into collectibles and/or nostalgia!

There were very large bins instead of racks (my first time ever seeing that), and everyone was scrambling to get the items they wanted, which were not particularly organized in any way from what I could tell. It was definitely not something I was accustomed to and made me feel slightly uncomfortable. If that experience is more your speed, then I'd recommend, otherwise a more calm, tame environment is the way to go.

Although the space is big, they have so much that the aisles are pretty tight. My only complaint is that there is only one dressing room for the whole store, so you can expect to wait in line for this. I do appreciate that they have a bathroom on site and available to the public. The cashiers were very nice and personable--they are always friendly, no matter what location I go to! They have different shelves for different materials and items, such as white glass, clear glass, pottery, etc. I came in with a few ideas in mind and found plenty of cool gifts for thriftmas. They have a special where if you found a gold coin with a star on it, you get $5 off your total purchase! They also have weekly specials. I went on a Tuesday and it was 20% off glass, so I was able to get this beautiful, heavyweight glass decanter for only $20! The person who checked me out was super kind as she carefully wrapped up my glass items so they would be safe during the ride home. Love this place and will return!

It has a limited collection of few t-shirts and sweaters (if you want shirts with funny and cute designs, go to Made in Omaha across the street). This store sells a few souvenir items from Nebraska like magnets, keychains. They also have greeting cards, umbrella, toys like harmonica, and stuffed toys shaped like corn, etc. The lady at the Tannenbaum Christmas Shop answered my questions about the merchandise on Old Market Sundries section. We were able to find all the keychains and shot glasses we needed. Not only did they have Omaha/NE branded items, but they also got items from nearby Iowa. If you are planning on driving through Iowa but still want to take a piece home for yourself, then this is a good spot to stock up as well. The day we shopped here turned out to be the cashier's first day. We had a good time chit chatting about our travels on Route 66 and how we had been on the road for what felt like decades. With great service and a nice selection, this is certainly the best one-stop shop that I can think of for anything Omaha related.
