Jamie has been AMAZING with my kids and James has also helped me a tremendous amount and I have had several instructors over time and all have been fantastic. Owning a business myself, I have numerous clients who also go to GolfTec and of the low handicappers (of which I am not one) many have given RAVE reviews and had strongly encouraged me to go to GolfTec over the years and I finally pulled the trigger. I have done lessons at a number of top places through the years with well known instructors and I find this to be among the best experiences right along with my own club. I primarily go for the "heavy change" stuff in the winter and do a few less lessons in the season as it is a bit harder for me to adjust while playing regularly. I recently received a gift card to the store and used some of it to purchase a new iron shaft. After waiting for over a month they told me the order from golf works was still processing. I cancelled their order and went through golf works myself. The shaft came to my house in 3 days.

It's a thrift type design, so it does depend on what people bring in to sell, but I've never had a hard time finding what I need. They have blade sharpening if you want to bring in your own skates, or they have a huge variety of hockey skates and some figure skates available to buy. Recently, I went in to look for soccer gear. I found matching adult and child soccer balls for my niece and I, and a pair of little cleats for her. They had a huge selection of kids soccer cleats and a good selection of adult ones, too. Pricing is fair, much lower than you'll find buying new and the quality of items is generally very good. The cleats were $15 for small kids cleats, and they were in great condition.

After searching around the store for a while, Rick came over to help us, and I'm incredibly glad he did. Rick was remarkably patient and genuinely committed to helping us find the right fit. My daughter tried on nearly a dozen different pairs of cleats, and Rick stayed with us through the entire process without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. Anyone who has shopped for kids' cleats knows how frustrating it can get, but Rick handled everything with professionalism and kindness. After two days of searching at different places, Rick was the one who helped us finally find a pair that fit well and worked for her wide feet. The price was very competitive as well! What impressed me most was how comfortable he made the experience for my daughter. She never felt embarrassed or pressured, and Rick treated the whole situation with patience and encouragement. That kind of service is rare. Rick was absolutely fantastic. I wish more retail employees had the tolerance, patience, and customer care he showed us. 2 Stars - Scheels is great overall, but not for hockey…read more Scheels is a great store for a lot of sporting goods, but if you're looking for hockey equipment, I would honestly recommend going somewhere else. My son recently started getting into hockey, and we went there hoping to get some help with skates and gear. Unfortunately, it was clear pretty quickly that the hockey department just doesn't have staff with much hockey knowledge. Whether it was skates, sticks, or general equipment questions, there really wasn't anyone who seemed confident or experienced enough to help. The most frustrating experience was when we purchased skates and were told they had been sharpened by the Scheels staff. After my son had a very negative experience on the ice, we took the skates to a rink, and the staff there confirmed the blades had not actually been sharpened. That kind of thing makes a big difference, especially when someone is just starting the sport. If you're serious about hockey equipment, save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that specializes in it. Prices are very competitive elsewhere, and the staff actually care and know what they're doing. Pure Hockey on 72nd is absolutely worth the trip. Scheels does a lot of things well, but hockey just doesn't seem to be one of them.
