Walked in today after having lunch near by with a craving for ice cream. I ordered a small scoop of chocolate chip ice cream in a cup and my boyfriend ordered two scoops- one of chocolate chip and the other chocolate on a cone. It was dead when we came and we cant seem to fathom why our service was really slow for two scoops of ice cream and a single scoop. We were there for a while and it was enough time for me to look at the entire ice cream cake selection in the freezer. We left and walked out eating our ice cream. First, the ice cream was frozen hard in the freezer and second the taste of the ice cream had an after taste. The chocolate chip ice cream had a little unpleasant after taste that I ended up not finishing it. In fact, I threw it away. My boyfriend also said the ice cream cone tasted stale like it has been out for a few days. He too agreed that the ice creams had a weird after taste. He ended up not finishing his ice cream as well. Over all, I do not think i'll be back here for my first choice for ice cream. If you want ice cream and are close by, go for it, but be prepared for an aftertaste. Parking can be difficult, if you cannot find parking in the pelton plaza then your next option is street parking. read more

Horrible Customer Service, stood in line for over 15 minutes while there were 5 employees behind the counter!!! When asked why there was only one worker assisting the growing line of customers I as told the other employees were decorators only! When we were finally waited on the young lady's hands & fingernails were very dirty and her customer service skills were poor. Overall experience was very negative and when I requested to be in contact with the Site Manager I was given a dirty Post it to leave my information because the workers are not able to provide me with his information. read more

Baskin Robbins is like the beginners ice cream parlor and it's also the only national ice cream chain I can think of besides Ben & Jerry's. How does this effect things? It don't because it's ice cream and ice cream is oh so good! I don't know if they still got 31 flavors of frozen dairy love but they always have a flavor I want to try. I work across the street and let me tell you there is nothing better on a hot day then walking into their cold store and having ice cream. The staff are super friendly. It is just way too busy the line is always out the door and when its hot almost around the block. also the floor is always sticky from kids dropping ice cream. I only go in when the line isn't that big which i can see from my window at work. The ice cream and staff get five stars. This place is close to my office, so perhaps twice a year, we get the hankering (where did THAT word come from?) for ice cream after lunch. If your just after something cold and sweet, I guess Baskin-Robbins can fill the need, but Baskin-Robbins ice cream lacks RICHNESS, which I place higher than cold and sweet. Higher-end grocery store ice cream is of better quality than Baskin-Robbins in my opinion. If I'm going to be "bad", I would much rather drive to Castro Valley to visit Knudsen's or Oakland to pop into Fentons. read more

April 30th 5:45 PM walked into Baskin Robbins and ordered a banana split the ladies asked what kind of banana split do you want I said an original Vanilla Ice cream Strawberry ice cream chocolate ice cream with with chocolate syrup over the chocolate ice cream the vanilla would have had pineapple and the strawberry would have had strawberries whipped cream and a cherry well they were very crowded and I just sat there and ate what they gave me it was not a banana split it was a variance of 3 types of ice cream there was a chocolate though When I screamed it had nuts in it there was no pineapple there was no strawberries and there was no chocolate syrup I waited very patiently until the store got empty and I walked up to the counter and asked for their manager young lady said I am the manager and I said oh OK well I ordered a banana split didn't say anything because you were busy and it was not a banana split it was not vanilla chocolate and strawberry it was chocolate and 2 other varieties of buy a piece of ice cream she turned and looked at me and she said sir I asked what do you want and I said I did not hear that but I asked you for an original Well you probably didn't know what the original was She fired back on me and lost it and was are you I wasn't there to argue I was there to help this lady out because she's a young person probably didn't know what original was but right away the fly came up I'm up and she wanted to argue you so I shut back down you're a disgusted and upset then I said you know you need to listen to the customer I am the customer I am the supporting individual It comes into this facility for years and years and years and years when I used to work at lucky store across the street I have never been treated this way before in my life in this Baskin Robbins It's not like a new customer I probably was coming into the store with that little girl wasn't even born or no but she definitely had an attitude. Will never go back!!! I went in for a Ice Cream Sundae and when I got home to my surprise it was a scoop of ice cream and frozen chocolate fudge which was eaten up in one spoon. I've never had any problems at this Baskin Robbins; the service here is always friendly and prompt, you never find yourself having to ask someone to be helped as they notice you as soon as you enter the door and immediately get your order going. They never seem to mind giving you samples either, and they do everything with a positive attitude, which is a refreshing change considering they're mainly teenagers and most teenagers have the shittiest disposition when working retail or food. They also know how to give you a proper scoop (or two) of ice cream here, nothing skimpy. I usually prefer to get my ice cream in a cup and they always fill it the brim when building my sundaes. I'd recommend the Cherries Jubilee and the Banana ice creams, but when you put them together with some hot fudge on top, it's heaven. I recently tried the Hydra Force sundae promoting the Captain America movie and it was AMAZING: chocolate brownies with chocolate mousse ice cream and hot fudge. My only problem with Baskin Robbins is that the prices are a little steep for ice cream, and most locations aren't as generous with portions as this one is. Also, I've never had an issue with waiting to be served here; you do have to wait to have your ice cream made (which is seriously not even a long wait at all), but these guys move as fast as they can to make what you want, so lay off them and get off their asses, you'll be stuffing your face with ice cream in the end, right? And to the reviewer who was mad because they couldn't spell your girlfriend's name right on the ice cream cake? Cry me a river, dude. read more

I am never coming back to this Baskin Robins again. I was a regular customer. The management is not the same anymore. It's so CHEAP. I went in the other day and got an ice cream cone, it was melting and I asked for an extra cup but they charged me TEN CENTS! Not even a bag at Starbucks costs that. Then I asked why they charge me for a cup, they apologized and they tell me they don't even get free ice cream OR DISCOUNTS. I don't understand this. This place is so cheep it's unbelievable. Where I grew up, the high school kids who got jobs at Baskin and Robbins were the personable ones who were also bright, and very EFFICIENT. That is the only way to help long lines of people, often hot people, get their refreshment. THis B and R is shocking to me; the staff seem to be concerned with anything but efficiency; and it thus seems to cater to people who are a bit self-absorbed and needy. Very strange place. read more

Ice cream is great but the place is so small that you really are unable to enjoy your ice cream inside the shop and the parking it is ridiculously hard to find. Small place but quality service. I went to get ice-cream one night, I live just down the road from Baskin Robbins. They always have interesting flavors during the holidays and I'm a big fan of being able to taste it before deciding which you would like. I settled a one scoop waffle cone. My boyfriend got a one scoop in a cup, only deciding after I got a waffle cone that that is what he wanted. Although he ordered a one scoop, he recieved what looked like close to three scoops! Very generous! I was waiting for a bit for my cone, not sure as to why I was waiting so long, we had even already paid. Well, to my wonderful surprise, they were out of waffle cones, so the lovely server had made me one by hand, fresh, without telling me they were out, which I loved since I would have just had it in a cup. The warm sweet vanilla flavor of the waffle cone accompanied by the cool sweet ice cream made my night. It was also a nice warm night in San Leandro, so we ate it outside on a bench by the Japanese sushi place. Overall, I love this place and I know where to go to get excellent ice cream! read more

Definitely one of the nicest Baskin Robbins' i've ever been to. On free scoop day, I waited in line for...just about forever, and they had someone walking around tying balloons for kids, free samples to eat in line, and an employee throwing around a frisbee and telling jokes. I've never seen that on other free scoop days. The young people behind the counter are all really nice and friendly. They're generous both with the samples and the scoops, and I love the varieties of cones. Not just the plain and sugar cone, but the waffle cone, the chocolate dipped, and don't forget the chocolate dipped with rainbow sprinkles! Ice Cream - Decent ice cream. My favorite is the Pistachio Almond which are my two favorite flavors in the world. But other than the noncommon flavors, it's just a run of the mill ice cream with nothing special. Prices - Definitely expensive. With a grocery store less than a block away, it takes a really good coupon for me to come here. Service - It's a crap shoot on who's working. Most of the time, the people are nice. One time, the manager went in the back to get a new tub of pistachio almond when there wasn't any out being served. This place is always busy, (cuz its good). The staff is always smiling and they try their best to help you quickly. I go here once very two weeks to get myself and oreo shake. I love the fudge in the bottom and the mixed up oreo ice cream. I try my best to get a lease half of it in my tummy before I get home because my wife will ask for a sip, which means no more for kenny boy. I give this place four stars only because last time they didn't put the fudge in my shake. I"m to shy to complain....so one star off. I love Baskin Robbins ice cream; it's just what I need as an occasional treat. However, the workers at this location has on more than one occasion just not used common sense. I was there on Tuesday and music that was not family friendly was blaring, while families with small children were ordering ice cream. I ordered my usual: a single scoop of cookies and cream ice cream with hot fudge on top. I received my ice cream, with very little fudge on top. I don't mind being charged the extra 70 cents for the fudge, but not for such a small amount. Typically, when I've been to other Baskin Robbins locations, they automatically put the regular size scoop in a larger cup to accommodate the fudge so that it's not a big mess when I get it. Perhaps that's not standard, but common sense should automatically be the standard. read more
