It was my first time visiting Tucker's and it was packed the brim. Good. My expectations are up there as I look at the line. A few flavors caught my eye, mainly the marble raspberry. There was a pleasant hubbub inside and a bit of a line but enough people behind the counter that it wasn't that long a wait. I got a cone that was terribly decadent and found a table out of the way to enjoy it. I'd decided on a chocolate dipped waffle cone, because why not? They were freshly dipped -- the chocolate hadn't even dried yet! That made it an extra treat because I was able to lick the chocolate off. Because I was being indulgent, I got chocolate peanut butter as my scoop andi must say it was quite generous as a single scoop! The ice cream was delicious; maybe not top five for me, but I'd have it again! It was a lovely treat for a summer Saturday!

Definitely always tipped for his kindness! This is an alameda staple besides Tucker's on park street and has been around for the last couple decades. Their Ube flavored ice cream is still one of the best flavors out there. Recently discovered my next favorite which is the champagne sherbert and it tastes just like a pink starburst!

Raul went WAY above and beyond!!…read more My friend's car was broken into in Oakland, and both of our gym bags were stolen. I was able to track one of my AirPods to Fentons, so we went in and explained the situation to the manager, Raul. Raul told us that he had seen a couple of black bags outside the restaurant on Friday night. After waiting a day to see if anyone claimed them, the staff had wrapped the bags in trash bags and put them in the dumpster. Raul then did something we absolutely did not expect -- he jumped into the dumpster himself and started digging through the trash to find our bags. My friend and I were prepared to do it ourselves, but Raul did the heavy lifting and eventually found both bags at the very bottom. Thankfully, because they had been wrapped in plastic, everything inside was completely protected. We recovered 100% of our belongings, which we honestly thought we'd never see again. What could have been a nightmare of police reports, insurance claims and replacing everything turned into an incredible customer-service story because Raul took the time to help us. We stayed for lunch and ice cream afterward and made sure to tip Raul and the staff very generously. Everyone was kind, sympathetic and helpful. Huge thank you to Raul and the entire Fentons team. Raul, you absolutely did not have to jump into that dumpster for us, but you did -- and we'll never forget it. Fentons is lucky to have you!

Among the flavors were some classics, fruity/floral mixes, and dessert-inspired ones too, a whole range so there's something for everyone. I got the Breakfast Brownie and it was unforgettable! It tasted creamy and delightful without being overwhelming, while the cornflakes mixed inside added a satisfying crunch to each bite. I came back a second time before a show at Crybaby, a smaller venue across the street. Grabbing a scoop here to-go has naturally become part of my pre-concert routine at this point and I plan to come back again next time to explore more flavors. They own an apartment in Paris and I didn't want to offend them with my usual guerrilla tactics. I'm known to fight dirty and conspire with others during this game and everybody hates me because of it, and I didn't want to be banned from their apartment, as Paris in the fall is lovely. Thus my journey with Walter began. One thing about me, is I respect a place that knows flavors. I don't want basic vanilla, give me some weird and strange and flavorful that will tantalize my palette and ignite my senses. Give me salty and sweet. Give me TANG. Give me these things and DONT give me gas. Bad Walters cracked the code. All flavor, real dairy, no lactose, no gas. Each week they have a different batch of flavors, so there's always something new to explore. There's like 6 flavors to choose from at once and they let me try them all before I selected my choice hehe. I tried to sample 6 flavors at Cold Stone and they took me out back and shot me, but here, nobody was mean to me. Mr. Potatohead is the flavor I landed on--brown sugar custard with peanut butter swirl and chocolate covered potato chips. The chunks of chocolate covered potato chips were lodged in the ice cream and I felt like an archaeologist excavating ancient rocks as my spoon lifted the potato chocolate chunks out of the creamy custard into my mouth. I bought a pint. The Mick Jagger was another joy, with its salty caramel and Oreo chunks. They're lucky Peaches Christ was sold out because I might've lost my mind for a peach cobbler ice cream! They also sell points to the side- take advantage. You'll want more when you're done! The ambiance and vibe of bad Walter's is perfect.
