We went to the motorcycle dealership and stopped by here afterwards. Got recommended by a friend and was excited to try it. I got the italian sub - it was very mediocre (maybe below mediocre). It was dry and very bland. I asked for mayo and other seasonings so I could fix it up and help the dryness. It didn't do much. The pasta salad was also pretty bland as well :( Over all pretty disappointing. But the partner got the buffalo chicken pizza. It did not look appetizing at all and was not expecting it to taste good but it was amazing! The crust was nice and soft. The sauce was delish and not overpowering. Most buffalo chicken pizza I get, they just drizzle/pour on buffalo sauce on top and it's way too strong. This sauce was very good and probably the best buffalo chicken pizza I've had (usually not a fan of it anyways). The chicken pieces were also very good despite the look of them. The scene is great for the talkative crowd who enjoy a lovely bite of Italian inspired food in-between points of conversation. Tried this place out again for dinner but ate at the restaurant this time. I ordered the grilled eggplant panini with a side of pasta salad. Wasn't really impressed with either of them. The panini was SO dry. It needed some sort of marinara sauce to give it more flavor. It did have the basil pesto mayo but i felt like they didn't use a generous amount and it was fairly bland. The panini comes on sour dough bread but I switched it to cibata which I felt was a good call. They do have a good deal of getting half a panini and a soup for just $8.99! I did not like the pasta salad at all. It was SO sour. It had a ton of olives and I wasn't aware there would be olives in it... needless to say I'm not a fan of olives. Side note: if you like calzones this place serves calzones that are HUGE. You could definitely make 2 meals out of it. The best part about this restaurant is the cute little bakery that's attached to it! They have a ton of gelato options and an endless amount of different pastries! They also take orders for cakes. I got a small cup of stracciatella and coffee gelato. The coffee flavor was delicious but I've had better stracciatella elsewhere. My friend got the tiramisu which I thought could have been more moist. I did try a sample of the tiramisu gelato which was so good and I definitely recommend trying that! read more

Walking in...I'm blown away by the dessert selection and gelato station. There are so, so many choices. While I didn't opt for a dessert for lunch, I'm truly keeping this place in mind when my sweet tooth is having cravings. For lunch, I had The New Yorker and a side of mac and cheese. This place has a wonderful, old-style bakery and I ordered 6 different desserts and they all were delicious! I had the napoleon, which is a family favorite of mine, and the chocolate mousse cake and the black forest cake. Everything was delicious and moist and creamy and wonderful. I enjoyed the experience so much, the service was prompt, friendly and attentive. It is a fast casual atmosphere but it is clean and well-maintained. 10/10 would recommend for dessert!!! read more

I had heard good things about this place, but tend to shy away from italian since I cannot eat gluten. I was very surprised to hear almost anything on their menu could be modified to be made gluten free. I got the pizza. The sauce and the toppings were so good. The gluten free crust wasnt very good and undercooked. There is a $4 upcharge for gf pizza and $2 upcharge for gf sandwich. The staff was friendly and polite and prompt. The desserts looked so delicious and they even had gluten free cake. It was very good. Will definitely be returning. Had to downgrade my original review to because I went back and ordered gluten free pasta no bread. The cashier and my receipt confirmed gluten free no bread. We came in on a Saturday evening famished and really excited to try their calzones, which looks amazing in photos. When we came in, we get some cocky employee taking our order who seemed annoyed because we took 60 seconds to glance over the menu, since we had no one behind us. We decided that in addition to the Panzaralti calzone, which we definitely knew we wanted to order, we wanted to order the caprese salad too. Right after my husband paid, I saw a pasta salad in the glass that looked really good, so I asked that she ring me up for 8oz of pasta salad too, but in a 'to go' container. We didn't get a receipt for either transaction, which normally we would make a fuss over because that's bad business...you don't know if you have been overcharged, and then there is no proof if a problem should arise. We ran into the latter. We go to our table with our table number they assigned us and took a seat anticipating that delicious calzone that we had waited all day for. Some time passes and our waitress brings out our caprese salad. It looked appealing and was very good. So far so good. Some more time passes and she brings out a calzone on one plate and a corned beef platter with cabbage on another. We did not order corned beef with cabbage. After going back and forth for awhile, I told her that we would show her a receipt, but that we didn't get one. Furthermore, I was supposed to get an 8oz container of pasta salad, which they did not bring out. She asks if she can take the calzone back, because she thinks she has the wrong table. I said, "I hope that we weren't charged for a corned beef platter". She states that she doesn't think that we were, but only that she had the wrong table. Since we had no receipt, we could only hope that is the case. She then takes my calzone out from in front of me, and the corned beef platter, and serves it to another table. The irony of this is, it really was MY calzone, which I will get to in a moment. Two minutes pass, and out comes our waitress with a male, who I can only assume is the manager. He apologizes and states that our waitress is "very, very new". We had ordered a calzone fried, and the other table ordered a calzone baked. She brought the fried calzone out with the corned beef platter, and ultimately served it to the other table, who evidently hadn't noticed and ate our fried calzone. The manager in turn asked if we would be okay taking the baked. We said, "No, we would like what we ordered". I mean, I wasn't trying to be petty, but please just fry us up a calzone like we ordered and paid for. While he was there, I also asked about my pasta salad, now a second time. He said that they would bring it out. Ten minutes or so pass, and here comes our calzone...a little lighter than I'm accustomed to, but looks great! They also bring my "pasta salad". I have this in quotes because they brought me a pasta salad of some sort, but not the one I ordered. My husband insists that I send it back or say something, but after the calzone fiasco, I say it's fine and I will just suck it up. I hate being the person who complains at a restaurant, even when it isn't my fault that my order is wrong. We cut open the calzone. There is no stretchy cheese; no warmth. I bite into it and the pepperoni is practically frozen!! I can't make this up! I am thinking, 'you have got to be kidding me'. We had been waiting so long at this point. So I call the waitress back over. I'm repeatedly begging her to touch the inside of the calzone, because it's visibly cold and uncooked inside. She doesn't touch it, but does grab it and take it back. The entire time I am being so nice, because I understand that things happen, but at this point, I am ready to just get up and walk out. The guy comes back over, throws his hands down on the table and says, "What is it you want? You want me to reheat it? You want me to make something else, you want a refund...?" I look at my husband who is equally frustrated and just shaking his head. I really want to get a refund and leave, but we'd been there for so long now, I say, "Can you just make us a pizza?" Ten or so more minutes pass and out comes the pizza, which was mediocre at best. All the toppings were thrown in the center of the pizza instead of evenly distributed, but whatever...we are hungry and tired and just want to eat a slice or two and go home. We grab our leftover pizza and my substitute pasta salad, that wasn't what I ordered and we left. By rights, we should have gotten a meal comped to us for all the confusion and wrongdoings right from the start. But nothing was done. So we got a pizza for about the same price that we paid for our calzone, which was what we should have gotten in the beginning...the one that I can only assume was fully cooked, hot inside and delicious, since the guy eating my calzone never complained. Bad employees, poor management and disappointing food has left us feeling turned off from ever returning. read more

I hate to give this place a 4 star rating because the food and service is excellent as a customer. I also Dash and they are so rude and horrible to me as a Dasher. I treat them with respect but they act like I am a pest they don't want around. To me that is sad because I am just an extension of the customer that is ordering the food. As a customer I would say the food is wonderful. Especially the pasta dishes. I recommend the chicken piccata. I have tried the sandwiches a couple time and the always seem dry and lack luster. That is the only complaint I have about the food. The soups are amazing and the desserts are beautiful! Always great to check out the desserts. If I had to pick one I would say the Crème Brûlée is the best but most everything I have tried has been sinful. That being said great place to grab a bite even if it's just for dessert! read more

It's not porchetta nor do they claim it's porchetta, but it's probably the best approximation of porchetta in a 60-mile radius. She got chicken salad on whole wheat. She says it's the best chicken salad she ever had, and that is high praise, because the chicken salad she makes herself is spectacular. I tried to suprise my boyfriend this past weekend by finding an italian bakery close to home that had his cannolis so we could stop driving to this mom and pop bakery in lorton all the time lol. Initially you walk itln and it is a very clean place and even 30 mins before closing was still busy. We made our way to the dessert side that had the huge displays of pastries on one side and ice cream on the other while we drooled and waited our turn to make our selections. I got major bonus points from my boyfriend since he was also craving cheesecake. The young lady behind the counter offered no smile and had nothing but attitude while taking our order which i can only asdume was a teenager ready to be off from work. However her male coworker jumped in to assist her and we got a cannoli and strawberry cheesecake for him and i got a srawberry shortcake and another cream filled pastry. We decided to save the ice cream for next time. We paid and left and couldnt wait to get home to eat our pastries as we watches a movie. We both ate our cream filled pastries first. The cannoli was burned on the bottom and the cream feeling was not authentic tasting at all. The one i had tasted ok but could put cut with a fork i had to pick up the whole slice and bite it which i though was a little out the ordinary but tasted ok. Now the cheecake and shortcake were absolutely delicious. Light and fluffy and melted in your mouth. I wantee to love this place so bad not just for the dessert but to also try the food but it leaves me wondering about their customer service and cooking if they are serving burnt items. I cannot believe after all of the times I have come to this little piece of heaven, that I have not left a review? This is my favorite italian spot in the area! I absolutely love their sandwiches, pizza, pasta dishes, and the pastries... This restaurant is very casual and laid back. You walk in and order at the counter. If you are dining in, they give you a table number and you pick a spot to sit for your meal. They have a communal water with lemon you can serve yourself from if you do not wish to get yourself a beverage. There are booths, tables and outside tables as well. A lot of the people who work there, or at least who I have encountered there, are Italian, or have some kind of similar beautiful accent. I enjoy the lobster bisque, though I will say there is not nearly enough lobster in it for me! It is served with a soft herbed bread, that soaks up the soup so dang well! My go-to order is the Fontina Apple Panini. It is sliced Granny Smith apples, fontina, clover honey, arugula on a croissant that gets pressed in a panini. SOOOO good! The last couple of times I got it, it was not the best, I will say. I think there was too much honey put on it, which saturated the sandwich far too much. When it is made correctly, it is phenomenal. Now. The show stopper. The mac and cheese side dish. Whos grandma is in the back baking this mac all day?? They use cavatappi noodles, which always make me feel fancy, for some reason. The dish is soo creamy and cheesy, and then topped with a think layer of sharp cheddar. It is so good! You had to get it, and I'm not kidding. The pizzas are great! THey are small, so you could order one for yourself if you're hungry. I could probably eat 3/4 of it in a sitting if I was hungry. The potato pizza was amazing. I didn't think I would want potatoes on my pizza, because that's carb on carb on carbs, but it works! The margherita is delicious as well. Id say it's authentic tasting, but I have never been to Italy, so that would be a lie. The Chicken or Shrimp Alfredo pasta is fantastic! The alfredo sauce is so creamy and delicious. I'm literally salivating over here just thinking about it! Mmmmm... Now on to desserts! Their gelato is some of the best around. The desserts are so good they have an entirely different counter to order from with dozens of options to choose from. There are cheesecakes, whole or just slices. Tiramisu, almond creme cake, which is similar to tiramisu, but without the chocolate and espresso. It's a little sweeter, seeing as the espresso and cocoa powder tone down the sweetness in tiramisu. There are neopolitans, turnovers, cream puffs, pretty much anything you can think of. Everything there is so good, and fresh! I have been coming here for over ten years.
