2nd time eating here, and both times haven't been very good. So, giving up on it. Tonight's dish had tough chicken, thus I only ate half of it. And, the ingredients listed on the menu didn't match what showed up in the dish. There were 3 or 4 vegetables added to the dish, and only 1 of them was a good addition. So, between the tough chicken and the veggies I didn't want, roughly half the order went in the trash. If the restaurant wants to throw whatever veggies into the dish, use the term "mixed vegetables" instead of listing specific vegetables on the menu. read more

Most things were just a little bit off. This isn't really a true-to-form Thai place. They offer other varieties like Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese (sushi, calamari). In my general experience, if a place offers many different variances, chances are that not one of those is great. The good thing is there is a lot to choose from on the menu. The not so good thing is the execution. We had the calamari as an appetizer and it totally missed the mark. The breading was very doughy and flavorless. Of those of us that ordered Thai meals, we were informed that we added our own spice at the table (no giving the waitress a 1-5 spice level upon ordering). This means that the spices aren't cooked into the food which really takes away from the meal. I got the basil ground chicken, "Hot Basil,"(pretty common at most Thai restaurants) and the flavor was quite a bit off; it was more sweet than rich and obviously with no spice. Aside from the aforementioned information, the restaurant was clean and well laid out with decent decor. Maybe this place will hit the mark for some but it wasn't what I was looking for. read more

My coworker and I ordered a to go order here to celebrate Mardi Gras/ Fat Tuesday. We used the online ordering system which was very convenient. You can set the time for pick up which was around 15 minutes at the earliest. My coworkers food was ready at the time we arrived but mine was a few minutes later which was fine. The food itself was delicious! We ordered a lot of food and I think everything tasted excellent. The only complaint was the price for the quantity. We assumed with the price we could split a lot of it and have leftovers but we didn't. For instance, the vegetable spring rolls were $4 and it came with 2. The coconut soup was $5 and I'm glad we each got our own cause it was a small container. The entrees were the only part that was appropriately priced for the quantity. I would definitely go back though, but probably stick to just the entree and not so many apps unless you're willing to splurge a little! read more

We came upon this restaurant while we were in town from Indianapolis. This Thai food was the best I've ever had. So good we ate here twice. And the atmosphere was so serene and peaceful on a weeknight. read more

Damn, I must of came on a bad day because how this place for all these 4star reviews are puzzling to me. I ordered a chicken yakisobe but came out with the meat looking and tasting like pork. Asked the waitress to check with the chef and she came back said the chef is so good that he can make chicken look and taste like pork. Paused. Head bang. Did they really say that the chef made the chicken to taste like pork? If I wanted the pork, I would of ordered pork Check pleaseeee. read more

This Thai food is the best I've found in this area. Pre-COVID they had a steady take out & delivery (through apps) service so their take out is still great! read more

I recently went to Basil Thai for lunch and, aside from being a bit on the pricier side, had a great meal. I had the Ramen Tom Yum and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The broth was flavourful and spicy, and there was a fair portion of both mushrooms and shrimp within the dish. My friend had the Khao-Soy and had been happily surprised to see it on the menu- while the dish didn't look like she remembered from her time living in Asia, it ended up hitting all the right marks on flavor. It looked like many people around us opted to go the pad thai route, and it looked nice enough. I would definitely return to try out some of the other items on the menu. read more

Wouldn't eat here again. The food was about 45 minutes later than the emailed expected delivery time. Then when the delivery person got there, they told me you can't tip on a card and asked if I could tip with the cash in my hand! (Which I wasn't initially using for a tip but felt obligated after that) I ordered the fried calamari and a sushi roll. The calamari was chewy and undercooked, not fried. Half of the sushi roll was good, the other half tasted dirty and almost like throw up. So I literally bit the sushi roll in half and threw away the rest. Didn't finish either item. read more

One of my favorite Thai Spots! Fresh, Fast and Delicious! Very clean and pleasant employees. They know me and cant wait for my return.

This thai food is so delish... yellow curry is my jam! Staff is super friendly and attentive! It's becoming so popular, so get there early for lunch! read more

This place was perfect for a quick casual dinner in blue ash. The interior is incredibly clean and fresh feeling, a nice change from many similar Thai restaurants throughout Cincy. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, and my parents each ordered the Massaman Curry. We all agreed that the food was very good and flavorful. The pad thai noodles they used were a bit more narrow than the typical flat noodle- which actually allowed the delicious sauce flavors to come through even more. FYI- they don't appear to have a liquor license, as there aren't any alcoholic drinks on the menu. It might be BYO- we didn't ask! read more

Reasonable slightly upscale Thai joint. The gyoza was good and the spring rolls were typical. I wasn't feeling well so I kept the heat to a minimum with a mild Chicken and Shrimp Mango Pineapple Curry that was was good. My guest brought the fire with a steak dish we really liked. read more

Basil Thai - Thai Near Me - Blue Ash, Ohio

Food, service & prices are horrible at Basil Thai. Food ordered: - Panang curry, so bland. Asked for spicy level 3 out of 4. Curry came out without spice, cold & flavorless. Chicken was under cooked. - Small side of spicy mayo, $1.25 without informing us about that price. Insane. - vegetarian soup, flavorless!!!! Also if your a vegetarian, be careful because there was pork broth & pieces in my soup. - "siriacha", not real siriacha. Service: Waited forever to get food. The place was empty, however service was so slow. Other customers were getting antsy as well. Prices: If you want to over spend money on flavorless, bland, under cooked food- then this is what you'll get. Enjoy. read more

After trying this place twice I'm unimpressed. I feel the food is priced high for the portion size and quality. I first tried their Pad Thai and was disappointed the Pad Thai I get at China Wok in Finneytown is alot better!!! Today I ordered the Gyoza & seaweed salad = 5 potstickers and 1/2c salad $11, the dumplings were not fried enough for my taste so they were doughy, gooey. It might be the hot place to go but I say save your money. read more

I've been to Basil a few times. Service is decent, but not outstanding. Food to the table is about 15 min. Food is good, but not anything unique when compared to other Thai restaurants. Pretty average experiencing. 4 stars due to modern decor, otherwise a 3. read more

Food was fantastic. I had the Pad Thai and the wife had the moo-yang e-saan (grilled pork) which was phenomenal. I see some complaints about service but our service was very good...granted we were virtually the only customers at the time. The place just opened so be patient and let them work out the kinks with service...we will definitely return. read more

Good food and service. It was more on the pricey side. But I enjoyed finding a new Thai place to eat! Will probably be back.

Cute little restaurant to go for lunch! I tried the spicy crunchy Pad Thai and did not enjoy it. Although my company enjoyed their regular pad Thai. Service was attentive and plenty of parking! read more

Finally!! Real Thai food in Cincinnati. I've tried 12 of the popular Thai restaurants in the area and this is the ONLY one that tastes like Thai food! I'm convinced it's the only one with Thai people cooking in the kitchen as well. Also relieved they don't do Sushi like all the rest. Such a weird trend here. The restaurant is super clean and owners friendly but busy. We had the pad see ew-delicious and the pad Thai. Both prepared correctly! I like the spice trays on the tables too. I look forward to going back and trying more dishes. read more

Friendly. Great menu of traditional Thai and "Americanized Asian". Sushi menu was thorough. Super clean - comfortable. Stopped in on my way home from a 20 hour work day. Super tired. - just wanted to grab a bite instead of cooking when I got in (I live right around corner). I had the massaman curry. Very tasty. read more

Beautifully decorated spot, friendly staff, and mediocre food. We ordered crispy paad Thai with tofu and Spicy basil chicken. I was pleasantly surprised by the brown rice option. But the food was just okay. Our two carry out dishes came to $27.00. I don't see myself returning. read more

Wonderful dinner dining experience. They offer Thai and Japanese. Appetizers, soup, sushi and all our dishes were wonderful. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Great find via Yelp. We will definitely be back!! read more

Sadly I just had a very disappointing lunch. Did not provide the requested sauce nor the level of spicyness requested. Sauce was watery without much flavor. They weren't even busy. Maybe a new cook? I won't go back and have been a frequent customer in the past. read more

Whenever I'm in Cincy for work I stop here for carry out at least once while in town. Their food is excellent.

Flavorful, but pricey. The big draw for Thai food in my eyes is vibrant flavors. Most people and Thai restaurants in Ohio seem to have an unspoken agreement that bland people will buy bland food. The menu here, however looked about 50/50. Looking for the elusive authentic Thai, I went with the Country Pork, on the menu as barbecued pork with mint, cilantro, lime, onions and chilis. And really, that's exactly what it is, bar the pork which they were out of. Something tells me that if I had the intended pork instead of that larb (minced pork) that was subbed in I'd think higher of the dish. It was flavorful, but the meat substitution get like getting ground beef instead of a medium grade steak. Second dish? Drunken noodle. Pretty much the American Thai go-to. It was good, but no better than anyone else's drunken noodles. Same goes for the summer rolls we had as an app; good but no better than anyone else's. I will say that the service was quick and friendly, and the place felt new, clean and well decorated. Lastly, a personal tick of mine for a dining experience... the music was either Pandora or Spotify, which is totally normal, but it was a free account so we had to listen to Wendy's commercials while eating read more

Delicious Thai food! Excellent quality, nice ambiance, and friendly servers. Fresh spring rolls were some of the best I've ever had. The crispy pad thai was good, but the hot basil beef was absolutely fantastic. Will definitely be regulars here! read more

Been here for lunch a few times and food is always good. Have had the pad Thai and the pho noodle soup. Both were hot and very good. Some items are a bit pricey and seems to be pan Asian cuisine with Vietnamese, Chinese etc on the menu. Wait staff also was friendly. Have not gone to dinner here yet but I would recommend this place to try. read more

I had lunch here two days ago. I had the Cashew Nut Chicken. The flavor and spice were to my liking but I didn't see one single cashew nut. Also for $13, the portion was pathetic. It should have been double the amount or half the price, take your pick. Also they should have run to Kroger and bought some cashews. read more

Truly elevated Thai food. The owner is very nice. Love the food there. A real treasure !

This place was cute and we sat right away for lunch. I got the chicken satay which was so tender and had a great peanut sauce with it. I also got a rice wrapped "fresh roll" which did taste fresh but had a gummy texture. The sauce with it was good though. The place has cool decor and a fun feel. I would eat it again. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant - the kind of place you take an important date or a business meeting. The decor is absolutely top notch. In spite of our rule of thumb that all the best Thai food comes from the "hole-in-the-wall" establishments, this place perfectly nailed the 4 items my table ordered: Pad Thai with beef, Tom Yom Gai soup, chicken fried rice and Masaman chicken. Even the 1-5 spicy scale was spot on. Wonderful service and sparkling clean rest rooms. They don't have a liquor license, but invite you to bring in your own wine or beer. So that would be the only suggestion I have for them: procure the ability to sell Singha beer or a nice Pinot Grigio alongside the excellent food. read more

The food here is awesome. Fresh, hot, friendly service. The food has tons of flavor. I can't wait to try more items. I had the white fish dish with brown rice from the lunch menu. It's ridiculously addictive. It has a light crispy batter and the sauce is delicious. It's served with iceberg lettuce which was surprisingly perfect with the fish rice and sauce. Such a pretty presentation too. Can't wait to come back for more. Yum! read more

Really wanted this to be good as I am going to be here for a month. But not so......I ordered a classic dragon roll and when it arrived and i tasted it i was extremely disappointed to bite into a ice cold, cooked hours before i arrived, shrimp tempura. Don't they know this should be fried just before preparing the roll? it tasted like old, dirty cold fryer oil. yuck, I do not think the eel was even warmed. then ordered the hot basil? what a joke. three basil leaves and garlic chili sauce? i had to dump 2 dished of fresh thai chilis even to make it a little flavorful. Never have i seen chopped up chicken so tiny...what are they trying to hide? The thai tea was good. read more

This is definitely my go to Thai place for lunch. I love the pineapple rice and sweet and sour with chicken. The crab Rangoon rolls are sooo good. It's definitely a great price fir the quality of food received. I would say if your going to go definitely call ahead and place order. Not a lot of places around the area to eat at so they get super busy around lunch time.I have never had any problems with food or service when I ordered ahead of time. read more

One of our standby Thai restaurants. Great Drunken noodles dish with very tasty sauce & perfectly spiced. They don't serve alcohol but let you bring your own. Brought a bottle of wine.
