I ordered the spicy basil crispy pork, and it was the best Thai food I've tasted in years. Will definitely be going back again and again.

Take yourself out on your own darn date. Why not?…read more You deserve it. And when you do..... Order the Pink Starburst for 10 buckeroos. A steal. It's pretty and pink and glows. Second choice was an expressotini. The crab rangoons for 6 bucks are a steal. Who can't resist crispy fried filled puffs filled with cream cheese ? Not this girl. Then I took Anthony's suggestion and went with a coconut spaghetti. If you're wondering what that is...... It's flippin fabulous. It's mandarin egg noodles tossed with shrimp, vegetables, in a savory brown sauce. Sold. The curiosity alone was enough to order it. Now on to the ambience. 9.5 outta 10. The music is in the background and not too loud to not hear the conversations your eavesdropping on in the next booth. And any place you go and hear Fleetwood Mac is a plus. The bar has a cool vibe and you don't have to break the bank. And!!! best part yet, there are books all around the place to read if you get bored or have a boring date. And Lori is such a darn hard worker with a smile a great hair. And thankfully, they do Apple Pay.

Our waitress was Sheridan and she provided absolutely superb service. Major shout-out. They didn't have the beer my husband ordered so she took the initiative to return to the table with two samples of similar beer for him to try. She answered all our questions and made appropriate recommendations. We were checked on often enough, a soda refill appeared without my asking, and she neatly boxed up our leftovers. She was pleasant and kind and one of the best servers ever. Very classy decor here; subtle touches of the orient; wood, leather, and...books! And a very elegant bar. Motown music was playing, and festive but not excessive Christmas decorations were up. And yes, a fortune cat was there to greet us. Food arrived quickly. We had the Thai Dumplings app which was just enough for two to whet the appetite. It was tangy and peanutty and the cool cucumber slices a perfect contrast. My husband had the Green Mango Grouper and loved it. I had a taste and it was fantastic, fresh white fish and delectable toppings, spice level 2 was just right. I tasted it and agreed it was excellent and right then we made plans to return. I had Siam Curry with chicken. Full of flavor and wonderful vegetables especially the snow peas. Spice level 3 is described as Thai Spicy and they are not kidding. They do not wimp out on the spice here so use caution. (For example at Thai Thara in Richmond Indiana I go with 5 of 5 and I still need to add some spice.) Sheridan brought extra chili oil if needed. I would recommend erring on the side of lower spice with the option to add. We took home an order of Singapore Noodles to share for supper tomorrow along with our leftovers. I snuck a taste before putting it away and it's delicious! Looking forward to another visit soon and I think I'll try one of their cocktails. Highly recommended!

The food was DELICIOUS- I got the chana masala, garlic naan, and a mango lassi, all of which were some of the best I've ever had, and my dining companion got the chicken chow mein, which they loved and said was elevated by the two types of onions used and the lime on top. We both are wusses and only got the spice level of two- I personally would go up to a three or four next time, and my dining partner said that they would stay at a two (their spice tolerance is lower than mine). With tip, we paid around $42, which we felt was very reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. The restaurant was very empty on for a Saturday night- when we walked in around 6:00 PM, there was a couple that was packing up to leave, and a few delivery drivers came in to collect orders, but for the most part, it was just us, which needs to be rectified, as Hot N Spicy Restaurant and Bar is truly fantastic. The only thing we could think of was that the location wasn't optimal for attracting attention from potential customers passing by (it's in a strip mall, sandwiched between a Goodwill and a Habitat for Humanity ReStore), and people just don't know it's there? Overall, we can't wait to come back, and we're excited to tell all of our family and friends about this hidden gem so that they'll come try it too!

Some of the best Thai food I've had between here & Cali (disclaimer: never been to Thailand!). I took my cousin here while she was visiting from Cali last summer and we loved it. I think she had the red curry and I had the eggplant. I didn't try hers but the eggplant made my eyes roll into the back of my head. + Nam tok: Never have I ever had a place give me so much beef in this. It's like an entire steak. Really amazing flavor on this too. It punched me in the face in a good way! Makes me question the other nam toks I've had before! + Pad see ew: Serious wok hei on this and other pad see ew I have had around here doesn't come close. Wow. + Eggplant: Tender tofu and masterful technique on the eggplant. + Tom kha: Vegetal and punchy. Next time I should get it less spicy so that the acid is the star. + Pineapple rice: Wow, indescribably good. There's so much depth of flavor and smokiness. The curry powder tastes freshly ground & bloomed. This dish transcends itself... I don't know who's cooking here but man I wish I could learn from them. This person is a true expert & incredibly inspiring. Such impressive and delicious food. It's truly worth going out of your way to eat at Thai Lom!

I've never had Thai and was very apprehensive but quickly agreed since she was enthusiastic about going. I only ordered the crab Rangoon, which is always my go to if it's available. Let me start by saying, I've had a lot of crab Rangoon in my lifetime and those were definitely in my top two. Wow! I liked them so much, I ordered more as my meal. My friend ordered the Khua Kling which is a chicken and rice dish. I'm not a fan of hot (spicy) food hence my apprehension for this eatery however, she wanted me to taste the chicken and it was quite delicious. As far as spiciness was concerned, she ordered it to be 3 on their scale of 1-5 with 5 being the spiciest. I had a small bite and the flavor profile was full and robust and I did not feel any heat, initially. After a few seconds, the heat worked its was onto my palette but it was not too much. Granted, others who are used to and/or love spicy food may think it's mild but for a novice like myself, I felt it. Again, I want to emphasize, the flavor was very heavy bodied and I do look forward to visiting again and expanding my Thai food experiences. So if you're in the mood for freshly prepared Thai cuisine, Numprik Thai Lao is a sure bet.

They have a big menu but I wanted to try their Pad Thai with Chicken ($11.38). Beef or shrimp cost a little more. The place had one waitress and she was very efficient. There were only 8 others in the place so service was quick. Considering the amount of food I was served and the price, I would say it was a very good value. Limited beer and wine selection plus soft drinks. Free parking in the mall lot. I ordered a 4 out of 5 spiciness and it came out more like a 2 but that was their only fault. Never lets me down…read more... I've been here several times. And, as a creature of habit, I can give certain restaurants great, yet boring, reviews. Udon Thai and Sushi is one of those places. I am, by fault, a go with what you know patron. If I go to a restaurant, find something that I like, I never need the menu again. Many have labeled me as boring because of this, but it's just how I'm wired. See, I label restaurants as "this place" or "that place". Example - Udon is my "spicy beef basil" place. The first time I came in, I ordered the Beef Basil dish, it was perfect and I never needed the menu again. What is the Beef Basil dish? Great question, nobody. Let me explain. First off, it's called something else on the menu. And, since I don't know what that is, we'll call it.... "Beef Basil". It's a vegetable and beef stir fry dish, seasoned with basil and other spices. They ask you for a spice level of mild, medium or hot. I'm a medium-hot to hot guy. I always say this and they always get it right. It is served with white rice. Wandering away from the entree menu, I have tried both their fried Chicken Gyoza's as well as their Crab Rangoon. Both I have enjoyed very much. Would I go back? Well, every time I want Beef Basil, yes, I do go back and will continue to do so. The service has always been spectacular. It's kept to a minimum as there aren't a lot of tables. You'll notice quite a few delivery pick-ups during your meal, so they do stay quite busy. But the servers at Udon have always gone above and beyond to make sure you have a very nice dinner. Udon is one of those places that doesn't rely on flashy fancy distractions. It's clean, nice and simple. Their foundation of great service and great food really is what keeps me coming back. I know what I'm going to get every time and I always enjoy myself. I'm not "Frankie Five-star". I don't give that fifth star out easily. Udon gets that 5 star because they focus on making the customer happy without a bunch of distractions or fluff. Three people with entrees, a couple of appetizers and soft drinks comes to about $75, before tip. It's not the cheapest place around but not the most expensive either. It's good. So treat yourself to some goodness.
