My beef Chinese broccoli dish was horrible. The manager, Larry, said he knew his menu thoroughly but yet couldn't tell me the name of a side dipping sauce. He refused to look at his menu for me when I, politely, asked him to. I tried to but my Sprint phone, Sprint sucks, wouldn't let me go online while on my phone to view menu again. I had to hang up and call back. The salsa dipping sauce had a piece of foil in it, came in a tiny condiment container, not worth the price. I couldn't call back because they closed. I had ordered dinner after a busy day and was really looking forward to that dish. I've had it before in house and it was delicious. read more

Second meal here and I was not disappointed. The spicy basil is as spicy as I could handle, and I only ate a few of the chillies. The green curry was warm and mellow it is nice to have real spicy food in the valley. read more

From the outside, this place looks like a hole in the wall. Looks can be deceiving! Inside it is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the food is amazing. We had a delicious lunch, but the service was terrible. We sat at the bar waiting while a large party (40 plus) got their food. We were ok waiting but no one even offered us a glass of water. We decided to eat at the bar. Then they gave us water and the drinks we ordered. The appetizers came out quickly. But we had to ask for napkins and silverware. Then one entrée came out. 20 minutes later we had to ask for the other two. Then we had to ask for the sides to be brought out. We had already been there for an hour and 15 minutes. We then asked for the dessert to go since one of our party had to be back to work. It came out on plates and we had to wait while they got a to go box. Other diners had been there and gone before our entrées arrived. The apology was less than sincere. We will not go back over the lunch hour...we were all late getting back to work. read more

Don't be fooled by the somewhat shambly outside - the inside is nice and well laid out. We were greeted very quickly, sat right away, and attended to consistently throughout the meal. My mom and I got the spring rolls to share as an appetizer and they were great. My only criticism is I wish the peanut sauce that it comes with was a whole not peanut-ier and a lot less of whatever else is in it (soy sauce or hoisin sauce probably). The dipping sauce is not bad by any means, I just like my peanut sauce to have peanut as the predominant flavor. For an entree I got the chicken pho and my mom got the Kow Boon with chicken. She doesn't have a very high heat tolerance so it was too spicy for her but for her, who loves a lot of spice, I would have liked it even spicier. We switched dishes and tried each other's. I loved them both and so did she (minus the spiciness of the Kow Boon). I admit I am picky about pho and had my doubts about this place but the broth is flavorful and the chicken is sliced very thin like I like. The coconut water that comes to the table once you are seated is DELICIOUS and I normally am not a fan of coconut water at all. Will be back here over and over. Very good! read more

I may have recently reviewed basil's but they deserve another shout out. We hd a party of 20+ tonight and had an outstanding time. SO good. I ordered everything to go & the staff was super nice when I went to pick it up. My mango boba tea (with a whole fresh mango in it!) was made right when I got there so it could be as fresh as possible. Absolutely delicious. The spring rolls & chicken Kow Boon were also great. Driving through town and went farther from the highway than we hoped to because of the positive reviews we saw here. It was Well worth the extra few stop lights to get away from cheap fast food. We got very reasonably priced, fresh food with great flavor, served professionally. The restaurant looks upscale while everything else is quite friendly. I hope we drive through this way again. So impressed!!! Tip: the spring rolls were worth ordering but much bigger than others I've ever had. One will easily feed two for appetizers. read more

The atmosphere is very nice in decor & music, good place for a date night.The service was friendly but slow & not super attentive as they seemed understaffed for a Saturday night.Lychee boba tea was tasty.They're all made with fresh fruit.They have a decent beer & wine list.The presentation of all the plates was well done, they all looked appealing.The steamed dumpling appetizer was good as was by husband's entree the Lao pork sausage special .I ordered the lemongrass marinated pork chop over coconut infused rice.The rice just seemed like regular rice, no hint of coconut or coconut milk & the chops although the flavor was fine, they were as dry & tough as shoe leather with tiny sharp shards of bone fragments to boot.Even with a steak knife it was hard to cut them.I know restaurants try to keep costs down but they need to order much thicker chops & just serve one instead of two.I think they should pare down their menu to just the things they can do really well. Also close Mon & Tues even Wed but not Sunday you're losing huge amounts of business! I had been wanting to come here a long time but its always been closed when I'm in town.Any idea how many people go out for lunch on Sundays after church etc?A lot! Very clean overall. Flavors and presentation of the dishes are very good. The portions served are "European" sizes, therefore smaller than usual, but the genuine taste of the food will allow you to "disregard" and forget about this minor detail. We all ordered basic fried rice, which is supposed to be a signature item in their menu. sticky basil fried rice was a big disaster. none of us enjoy or even complete half of the servings. quality is not maintained, response to the feedback provided by us was not even considered. i believe most of the regulars here will agree to my comment. read more

I can't stress enough how wonderful Basil Cafe is. They are incredibly hospitable and of course, the food is out-of-this-world amazing. My husband and I actually held our rehearsal dinner there, the night before our wedding. We were blown away by the experience. Larry was very dedicated to making sure our guests had a great time and were well fed. The food was a huge hit! I went in for the first time today with a friend and we both enjoyed our time very much. The building outside looks plain but the inside is very breath taking. I felt like I was in Thailand. Love the atmosphere! We both ordered the beef pho and a lao papaya salad. I'd say the pho was okay. If you're a regular pho eater, this isn't the place for variety, there's about 3-4 different type only. Surprisingly my friend who isn't much of a pho eater finished his whole bowl for once. He really enjoyed it. I absolutely love the lao papaya salad!! The presentation of the papaya was very well done and it came with guilin rice noodles as a side!! This is the first place I've seen it come like this without requesting for it. For all regular papaya salad eaters, this is the place to go for papaya! The pho $10 and papaya $9 were more on the pricey side compared to other places we've been to but overall the whole experience was well worth it. The staff was very friendly.
