Because with our apps I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. As it was I needed two to go containers for my Pho and really enjoyed it for dinner. My combination Pho had lovey perfectly cooked shrimp and sliced beef that had to have been roasted and sliced in-house. At least it tasted like it. I also had several meatball halves too. I would go back for this Pho over and over again. My husband had a curry and he said it was also a 4 star. We try Asian restaurants, mostly Thai, whenever we travel and I hope to be able to come back here when in the area.

If you had told me I'd find delicious pho in Appleton, Wisconsin, I would have laughed. But Basil Cafe pleasantly surprised me! I had the chance to chat with the manager, who shared an incredible story about his Cambodian sister and Vietnamese brother-in-law's dedication to authentic flavors. And you know what? It paid off. The pho was quite decent. My colleague enjoyed a lunch special with spicy lemongrass and pad thai--both satisfying and flavorful. Have I had better in the S.F. Bay Area? Sure. But for Appleton, this place is a gem. The atmosphere is clean, the portions are generous, and the service is excellent. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Basil Cafe is a gem in the Fox Cities. The food is always good, fresh and amazing. The menu is consistent but they introduce new dishes on a regular basis. I've had nearly everything on the menu and never had a bad meal. And my favorites are consistently good, every time! Don't miss the crepe appetizer, it's amazing! We love this restaurant and always have to order the Tom Yum soup to start with. We want to try new dishes every time we go and so far nothing has disappointed us.
