This is the best Asian restaurant in Green Bay. The depth of flavor and attention to authentic Hmong and Thai food is amazing. I ordered spicy green curry with curry on a cold day and that's what I got. It's not too spicy but it will get you if you are an amateur. The location seats about 20 but that adds to the experience if you eat in. Great service. The cashier was running food to patrons and worked her butt off! It's just better than I other places. Prices very acceptable for large portion size...Family left full or bought home leftovers. High volume of people walking in for carry out which is also great sign for quality and value. Multiple spices at tables (tables very limited-so large parties be aware----chili powder is hooooot so use sparingly). Was in the area for work and craving some Thai food. After looking at the menu and reading the reviews, decided to give Plia's a try. Considering where I am originally from and that Green Bay is a smaller town comparatively with regards to the selection of Asian cuisine. I was pleasantly surprised. On my first visit, I got the Drunken Noodles. I asked for it to be spice and was asked to choose between 1-5. I choose 4. Almost did 5 as restaurants that serve Thai food in smaller communities, the spice level tends to me on the milder side. I also got a Thai Iced Tea. The pleasant surprise came when the level 4 heat was actually very spicy and the tea paired perfectly with the spice. I also appreciated that instead of the regular thick rice noodles, they used the ones that were more like small rectangular sheets. On my second visit, I decided to try the pad kra pow. Unfortunately, this dish was not as great at the Drunken Noodles. There was too much liquid in the bottom of the dish. Also the didn't quite taste like most gra pow that I've had. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely go back and get the Drunken Noodles again. read more

I've lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for 15 years, and every time I drive down to Chicago, I make sure to stop at Plia's Kitchen because it never disappoints. Their pho has been consistently excellent over the years, with a rich, flavorful broth and fresh, high-quality ingredients. I've also enjoyed their tri-color tapioca drink and Thai coffee, both of which are consistently well-made and delicious. On my most recent visit, I decided to try the Pad See Ew. The flavor was very good, and although the rice noodles were thinner than the traditional wide ones used in Thailand, the dish had a satisfying wok-hot aroma that brought out the stir-fry's depth. You order and pay at the counter first, and the food usually arrives within 5 to 10 minutes. The service is always friendly and efficient. The vibe is also really nice, i.e., clean, simple, and relaxed, which makes the whole dining experience feel comfortable and welcoming. Plia's Kitchen remains one of my favorite stops whenever I'm heading to or from Chicago. read more

We stopped at Plias Kitchen for dinner tonight because we are down in the Green Bay area making a pick up at Menards. And within 30 minutes we got a phone call saying our food was ready. We ordered one Platter of chicken pad Thai And another platter with chicken drunken noodles. Because we love spicy Thai food, we requested it to be extra hot and they sure delivered on our request! The food was excellent and the drunken noodles appear to have been handmade noodles which was even better. There is an awesome assortment of Thai condiments at each table. By far the best place for Southeast Asian food in Green Bay. We have yet to have a bad meal here, and have tried just about everything on the menu. Can't go wrong with the staples, but it's worth giving some of the less common items a try too. Staff is always friendly. This place is a hidden gem of Green Bay! Their kapoon and larb are so great- if you like authentic Hmong or Thai style food then this place is definitely the best. We've tried a ton of places in Green Bay similar to this location but we always find ourselves craving something wholesome from Plia's!! I agree with a previous poster having to limit the visits! Good thing I don't live any closer. The regular tofu red curry is my absolute favorite and have to order it at least twice a month. I look forward to the dining room being open again so I can try all the condiments on the table. Like others have said... great fresh ingredients, you know it's good because they are always busy, very friendly staff take the time to answer questions and get your food out as fast as the kitchen can. The interaction at the point of order makes it seem they they were doing me a favor when they took my money. The overpriced veggies were cooked within an inch of their life, nothing like expensive, soggy broccoli. I ordered the meal extra spicy and the food had zero heat. Pad Thai is AMAZING. I was super worried that I wasn't going to find a great pad Thai dish in Green Bay but I am so glad I was proven wrong. If you really want a kick then order it spicy. We also tried the crab Rangoon appetizers last time we went and they were perfectly fried with a wonderful dipping sauce. The only reason for the 4 star is because my husband didn't have the same experience. He ordered the deluxe #2 pho and the broth was lacking flavor big time. What an amazing little hideaway. I quickly looked on Yelp for Thai food and this place was recommended. The shop is on the smaller side (only 7 sit down tables) but they do take away. Fortunately I came at a quiet time and was able to get a seat immediately. I ordered some stuffed chicken wings to start and I have to say the exceeded my expectations. The main portion is deboned and stuffed with Asian vegetables and it is barbecued to perfection. For mains, I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and spicy. Having had this in Thailand and many other locations around the world, I was not sure what to expect and given authentic Asian cuisine in the USA is hard to come by I set my expectations low. Well it was fantastic. Perfect blend of flavours. Plenty of chicken and bean sprouts. Rice noodle was perfectly cooked.
